I was always a huge fan of Disruptor Tank and Subterranean APC from Tiberian Sun (engineer rush ftw). Avitus and his squad from Dawn of War II are really awesome to, you can do some serious damage with him.

In Total Annihilation I loved using the Brawlers on the Arms side. They sway left and right, dodging while blasting the target with to mini guns on it's wings. I sometimes use them to distract my foe while a assemble a big army since they have a fair bit of life and are faced paced with instant turns.

Also enjoy using the Defilers in Starcraft because they are something different, they can use a powerful plague attack that slowly drains life to both units and structures and they also have the ability to great clouds of smog that you can hide your other units in to protect them. If you ever run out of mana you can also sacrifice your other minions to restore your ability's and once again become a serious threat.

And my last favourite is the Terror Drones in Red Alert 2, they aren't that powerful unless you use them well because they jump inside vehicles and slowly kill them from the inside, and once that vehicle dies it will instantly jump into the next one closest to it with a 1 second invinsability. Also they are great for killing infantry since they move very quickly and can kill even the hero's in one strike.

Now I remember. Personally, when I played CORE I'd Tek-2-krog like an idiot instead of spamming tanks. A few weeks of playing Spring has ironed that out of me.

I'm still an ARM boy though :D

I only play CORE in 1v1. Which is almost never.
I hardly ever play CORE, as I don't like the Rapier (I think? Its the CORE gunship, in any case) and my build order tends more toward smashing things from the air, mainly revolving around 2 bomber wings (at least one of these will be Phoenixes), a swarm of Freedom Fighters for AA/Chaff, a group of Hawks for more AA protection and 3 - 4 squadrons of Brawlers to take out vehicles and the stuff the bombers missed. Also, if I feel like being a bastard, I'll build a fleet of transports early on in the game to try and pick up the enemy commander.

The Command & Conquer series offered a wide range of fantastic units:

- C&C Tiberian Dawn: Mammoth Tank, Engineer
- Red Alert: Spy, Tanya
- C&C Tiberian Sun: Subterrainean APC, Mammoth Mk II
- Red Alert 2: Chrono Legionnaire, Prism Tank, Kirov
- Yuri's Revenge: Yuri Clone!

The prism tanks had such great range that there really wasn't too much an opponent could do against an upgraded army of them.

CARRIER HAS ARRIVED!

My plan in Starcraft:
Step 1: Build 24 Carriers.
Step 2: Build 2 Arbiters.
Step 3: Waltz across the map.
Step 4: Lose the match.
Step 4:???
Step 5: PROFIT

Kasrkin squads from Dawn of War, and Commissars!

I pretty much like base infantry units, and I usually play humans.

Save goblins of LoTR:Battle for Middle Earth 2

One phrase: MOAR GOBLIN WARRIORS!

Kirov Airships from Red Alert 3, they are slow, but they can take a lot of damage and once they are over their target, BOOM!!! lol.

The Big Mek from warhammer 40k: dawn of war because it kicked so much ass and had great lines.

"They should invent some kinda masheen what makes WALKIN' fastah!"

or

"Where's da truck? WHY'S I WALKIN'?!"

Actually, orks in general in that game were just awesome because of the lines they had when you selected a squad.

A strategy I've seen in 5v5 team games on DSD (In TA Spring, not actual TA) is I go ARM Kbots, pump out Hammers, Warriors and Rockos while one person goes CORE air and builds a fighter screen across our main base, another person focuses defences and gets up some anti missile and everyone else just attacks. It's only lost like twice.

English Longbowmen in Age of Empires II

edit: or Battle cruisers in Homeworld 2.
I remember the battlecruisers, but they barely rival the sheer epicness of the dreadnaught in the campaign that one shots the battlecruisers with it's main gun.

I am divided between the Companian Cavalry and the Cataphracts in Rome: Total War. Both are superb against most everything, and are equally effective when used right. Plus I am a master with my cavalry units, whihc makes them higher on my list.
As for infantry, I like the Royal Pikeman and Falxmen the most (R:TW again). Royal Pikes do well against anyone but Spartans and Sacred Band hoplites. Falxmen murder cavalry and are always underestimated.
