Anyone else think they thought they were going after Wikileaks?
Yes, that's actually what I thought; maybe somebody just confused wikipedia with wikileaks. Either way, I love seeing taxpayer money at work, and I'd probably be royally pissed if I had a job right now...

It'd be funny if someone added this ordeal to the FBI wiki page.
I'll be right back....

Joking aside, this is ridiculous. Is the FBI that bored?
Or the ecnonomy's that bad they need to try and get money in however way.
This could also be true, in fact it makes a lot of sense.

Further evidence of this sad country's devotion to the letter of the law rather than the spirit. I think the founding fathers are rolling over in their graves right now.

Its this same logic that allows a woman to sue McD's because she spilled coffee on herself and "wasn't aware" that it was hot.

Its ridiculous.

I guess that with so many secret agencies in the U.S. the FBI has nothing better to do these days.

They had better not do a google search. There is a fuckton of FBI logo's there.

Oh, and Andy.. what have you done!? They'll shut down the Escapist now for sure, with that article!. :p

Really? How silly can the FBI be? I thought they were quite serious folks.

Haven't they got better things to do?
But of course not! Everybody knows that you go to Wikipedia if you want to get anything potentially threatening for the FBI! /sarcasm
Not like the FBI's masters are going to have them do anything of particular importance anyways.

So, basically, their Attorney godwinned the wiki thread before it even started?
You do know who Mike Godwin is and why it's called Godwin's Law [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ptitle7vljslfu?from=Main.GodwinsLaw], right?

I almost want them to lose so they would have to put up a picture saying:

"Image removed by the F.B.I."

Damn, those FBI must be really working over time, you know, if Wikipedia using their symbol is the biggest problem they have right now.

I do, but sometimes bad jokes still have to be made? But who would make them you ask?

I am that man.

wow, the whole copyright thing is just getting out of control...this smells like the FBI is looking to make a statement, because it doesn't take a cone-on-head-to-protect-against-peas genius to know that wikipedia means well.
I mean, how soon before I have to tack on an anonymity network bill to my current internet bill, you know?

Wow. I'm glad to be Canadian...

If your authority has nothing better to do than to threaten website instead of... don't know, just going on a hunch here... stop crime, I'll suggest you (american) to start moving elsewhere or just ask for those involve to be fired.

Never, they'll do probably "borrow" Blizzard RealID system and force internet providers for real name and IP. But that's only if nobody does something right now and ask for those guys head first. Come on! They probably sue all Dictionary next.

And you want them to follow through while they have REAL crime to stop? It's like buying a donut to play Frisbee. You are missing the point!

Aren't there more important things we could be focusing on?

Anyway it seems like the motto "Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity" means little now (particularly the 3rd bit)...

Wait... am I allowed to reproduce the motto in this way? Or do I need to worried about the F.B.I. knocking down my door because of this?
