I completely agree with free speech; until organizations like PETA abuse that freedom and shout so loud nobody else is allowed to talk. I will (and have) sit quietly and listen to why you believe what you believe. However, when I try to state my opinion and you yell about how feeding meat to kids is child abuse, you become an ignorant f**k who should be beaten and excommunicated to Somalia. See how fricken picky you are when there is no food to eat. PETA is based off of ignorance and hypocrisy. If you want a responsible animal advocate organization, look at the Humane Society, or literally dozens of others that aren't run by morons. The director of PETA is a diabetic who uses insulin synthesized from pig glands, and then she calls for pharmaceutical companies to cease using animals in all research. If she had her way, the polio vaccine would never have been created, not to mention dozens of other life saving medicines. I'm sorry for the ramble, but I DESPISE ignorance and hypocrisy.

I forget the exact statistic, but they've run a stat on how many animals they "save" that end up being euthanized, it was somewhere around 85%.

To be fair, these animals are being euthanised because they can't recover fully from the conditions they were held in. It makes PETA look bad, but it should reflect on the captors themselves. It's not as if PETA frees the animals, then kills them off just for shits and giggles.

I think that PETA is generally made up of a bunch of loons, but this is a serious point about animal cruelty, and shouldn't just be laughed off.

Carnivores and herbivores both have specialized digestive systems that we lack.

Humans are omnivores, we lack either's specialization but we can eat a fair bit from both.

That's beside the point. PETA is trying to say that all meat is bad for children, not just fast food. So, yeah, buying that burger from McDonalds is bad for your kids, but so is buying a pound of hamburger meat, pressing it into patties, and making your kid a home-cooked burger.

It's easy to say that not giving a child meat is cruel, but neither are, the child can be brought up healthy regardless of them being brought up as meat eaters, vegetarian or vegan.
It's all down to common sense and everything in moderation. Simples.

Second a fun lesson in history. I know most of you are like me and never had fun and history at the same time, but this is something that you'll laugh your ass off to. Hitler was a hippie. He was a vegetarian and showed films of mistreated animals to his guests to make them not eat meat. Sound familiar? He also used to live as a hippie before becoming a dictator and designed the Volkswagen Beatle (basic design was from the manufacturer, but he put in the final touches that made it look awesome).
