To be honest: I'm not surprised. Home has, from the very start, been a breeding ground of imbeciles and immature people.

Infact, the one way I get my kicks on Home is to screen cap all of the douchebags who come up to me in my faux woman character.

...Stop looking at me like that.

As for whether she overreacted or not, it isn't really my room to say. Though there are moderators on Home, they just care more about language than sexual harassment.

Jeeze, just stop playing then! Its not real sexual assault, nothing like it! I dare the person who complained to tell there story to a victim of sexual result.

Damn are the members of the escapist the only normal people left?

Erm... seriously I think that they might be taking this too far, this does not mean that I support the "cyber rapist" but still it is just a game.

Can I claim assault/treason from all the people on my team that shoot/stab me in the spawn room whilst TK is on?

well seeing that France has made it illegal for couples living together to have arguments, im not surprised something like this would popup. I'm curious y 'she' made a 'female' Avatar? i kinda figure that since 98% of the Females there are men anyways <.< she would make a dude.

Look honey if you dont want the attention y make your character look good?

I can't think of one forum or MMO game where I haven't been annoyed or offended by someone, but this is the internet. It happens, and sometimes there are repercussions for the offenders, but usually only if he or she is reported. I've never been on Home, but I'm imagining there are certain steps she could have taken to see that this stopped, or at least won't happen again.

All I can say to this is.."welcome to online gaming". Really. If your honestly offended by something this stupid, then you have no place in the online gaming world. This shit has been happening for a very long time. It is nothing new.

Seriously, this isn't sexual assault. This is some douchebag being an idiot and thinking that he's funny.
My only weakness?

Super effective?

OP:

I am conflicted. While I agree that the line between Internet life and "real" life is becoming blurry, it has certainly not reached this point.

All I can think of is the fact she shouldn't, ever, step foot into SL!

I've been raped there... it... it was traumatising... and fun... and traumatising... but fun.... but.... traumatising...

Response list go!

1. Home is a free service for PS3 users, so it cannot lose money.
2. Claiming that this is the same as regular sexual assault is insulting to rape victims
3. Teabagging happens all the time in online shooters, and it is much more graphic than the described situation
4. Some sort of report option would be nice, but I don't know enough about Home to talk about that
