In FF6 Locke and Cyan lost people they cared about. I don't recall that much about Shadow but I think he's the father to the little girl Rem.

Terra and Celes don't show that much emotion what I remember. It's mainly on few places.

Celes
1: The island when Kefka burned things up.
2: First time you get to meet her.

Terra
1: Seeing some Espers or being in their homeworld.
2: Being in Esper form for the first time.

I think it was Celes who stabbed Kefka and he got whiny too.

I don't really see Cloud as an emo, even in the movie. So a sick guy can't be alone without being turned to an emo? :/ Beside, he was a soldier and had no one to fight.

Oh and I'd rather have a new remake of Final Fantasy 1 than 9.
For a few reason.

1: Princess was WAY to forgiving. Her mother was a fat lying power hungry *****.
2: Steiner joined the party instead of Beatrice. Who also was quite stupid.
3: It was generally a kid game. Like 4 out of 7 of party where kids.

Hello once more, Fellow escapists. Well, I guess I won't waste any time ...*dons flame retardant suit*

Okay then. Alright, so I've been wondering for a long time now, and with the many FF7 spin off games and talk around the forums about an FF7 remake, it got me thinking about Final Fantasy 6.

Final Fantasy six is... *gulp* (sorry about this, but what the hell, I'm going for it anyway...) Final Fantasy 6 is widely considered to be the best final fantasy story ever made. (THERE! I said it!!! *locks doors and windows*) yet it is shown remarkably little love.

Over the past few years, many of the older final fantasies have been getting remakes. Final Fantasy 1 and 2 were remastered on the PSP, and Final Fantasy 3 and 4 were completely redone in 3D for the DS.

And spin-offs. Final Fantasy 7 has had several spin-offs since it was released. And not too long ago, "Final Fantasy 4:The After Years" was released.

Why is it that Final Fantasy 6 seems to always be lost in the sauce? Do you think Final Fantasy 6 will ever get a remastered version or a spin-off? Do you think they are just going from 1, up, again? Do you think they never will? Why not?

*sits on porch with gauss rifle.*
You do know awhile ago they remade it for the PS1 don't you??? Though they will probably do another one very soon. Although the story got shit post cataclysm in my opinion but thats just me. It just seems that FF6 is lost in the crowd because they are giving so much attention to FF7(my personally favourite but they are milking it) to fill in plot holes and back story.

O_O Locke and Cyan lost people, but does losing loved ones make someone emo? Is everyone in the world emo then? My grandmother died, it made me sad. Am I emo now? no. >_<

Celes not showing emotion? She nearly commits suicide. O_O And as for terra, she shows plenty of emotion and plenty of stuff goes down for her. I do not know what your talking about.

As for cloud, he isn't emo, he's just kind of a brusque jerk. (have you seen him in Dissidia?) Vincent is the resident Emo in FF7, man.

Get up. Brood. Eat Breakfast. Brood. Take a shower. Brood. Not to say he wasn't brooding during those things as well, Vincent's a multi-tasker. /Unskippable reference.

Haha Soo much fanboyism.. On every side of every Final Fantasy game.
I think each game has their own perks which appeal to different people. My personal favorite is Final Fantasy 6, and personally I would love to see them remake it simply just for my own nostalgic purposes.
I would love a remake of FF6 with at least Dissida or better graphics and voice acting. It really wouldn't fit the original artistic style to make it in the style of the DS ports in my opinion. In fact I was kinda disappointed FF4 had those style graphics, it didn't fit the mood for me.
As for spin offs, most of the main story wouldn't really need any spin offs. And if one was made it would feel forced. One thing I've always wanted to see though is a game made within the same universe as Final Fantasy 6. I'd love to see a game detailing the accounts of the War of the Magi. Bad ass.
I love all the Final Fantasies though. I hope all of them get remade eventually for nostalgia.(Just FF6 first. Haha) :)

No spin-offs. The story's done. However, a DS remake a la Final Fantasy 4 is far from out of the question. If any Final Fantasy could benefit from an injection of difficulty it would be FF6, which became progressively easy after you got enough powerful Espers.

One problem would be finding voice actors to adequately suit the characters, particularly Edgar and Cyan. Crispin Freeman for Kefka!
respectfully good sir, i've always put mark hamill's voice over kefka, i dont know why it just seems naturally sounding to me since he reminds me of the joker
Yes, he's good too. I'll never forget his turn as Joker or Hobgoblin, but Hamill has always fought to avoid typecasting as the young hero role that made him famous. As old as he is I'm sure he'd avoid taking on too many 'insane maniac clown' roles these days, and the voice he uses for it is a bit too deep. Freeman (aka Albedo Piazolla, aka Albel Nox) doesn't seem to mind so much, and he's done many other roles in games and cartoons besides. Not arguing, just saying that Hamill is no longer the only choice.

For a third option, just who played him in Dissidia? *Goes to check*

I'll give ff6 one thing not too many games before or since where the world ends only half way into it. But my favorite will always be ff4.

Final Fantasy 6 was remade for PS1 and Gameboy advance but it never got treated with the love that FF7 did, even though it was just as good (arguably better)

FINAL FANTASY 6 IS NOT FORGOTTEN IN ANY SENSE. IT HAS LEGIONS OF ANNOYING NOSTALGIAFAG FANBOYS THAT NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT IT AND DECLARE EVERY OTHER FF TO BE THE WORST GAME EVER. At least 7's fans are either A: normal people or B: fangirls that leave the other games alone. 6 is a game that goes down the shitter halfway through and has the worst fanbase of any FF game.

The best FF games are FF5, and FFT.
Almost, the best are Tactics, V, AND VI.
All Final Fantasies are equally good in my opinion (except 11&12)

This one. ^
I love ff5, its rather lengthy and the class system was ahead of its time. The remake for GBA was wonderful.
I loved FF6 too, but after you learn Ultima and Quick there is NOTHING that can stop you. (and Soul of Thamasa/Celestriad)

12 is far and away superior to 1-3 and 8.

3 invented the Job System, not 5. 5 IS the one where it got perfected in though.
Didn't say FF5 invented it, just that it carried it out so well, so long ago.

I guess I can understand why people liked it, but it didn't really interest me.

Final Fantasy 9 is the one nobody remembers.
Bad timing, really. It was released around the same time the PS2 was around the corner and nobody cared about Final Fantasy IX (except me)

*Ahem*

Well, I personally think Final Fantasy VII was the best of the bunch. It is noteworthy that when FF VII came out it was riding on the coattails of FF VI's fandom and pretty much blew away the expectations people had from that game. It's also noteworthy that a lot of people talking about FF VI are typically trying to be know it alls because FF VI was a SNES game, and while a popular console, the Playstation eclipsed it. Final Fantasy VII being the first Final Fantasy title to get anything close to a truely large following.

Also Final Fantasy VI has seem remakes for portable systems I believe. However being based on SNES technology it has not aged well, it's also comparably more complicated than say I and II so it means a LOT more work to update it, you'd pretty much have to re-do everything from scratch to modernize it, and for that much effort they might as well make a whole new game.

Such are my thoughts/opinions.
