The haven't really been spreading the love with hand held as you say. FF1&2 came out on the PSP years ago. FF 13 isn't a remake, but one of the trifeca of FF13. FF 3 has gone to the DS, FF4 has gone to the DS, FF 5 & 6 are going to the DS. All of the DS remakes have such crappy art styles to with the oversized heads deal. I just want some more FF remake love for the PSP then just 1&2.
I didn't just mean remakes (or even just FF games for that matter). This gen, Square has been spreading its games across all platforms.

I hear FF Agito 13 is slated for PSP. And as you say, FF1 & 2 are also on PSP.

PSP got:
Dissidia (my personal 2nd fave game of 2009 - behind Demon's Souls)
Crisis Core (FFVII prequel)
Star Ocean 1 & 2 (remakes)
FF: Tactics (remake of what may be my fave game all-time)
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth (remake of VP for PS1)
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (Another chapter in the KH series - I didn't bother with this)
Thexder Neo (remake of 1985 PC game)

You can also download the PS1 Classics (FFVII, FFVIII & FFIX) on PSN for your PSP.

So it's not like Square has completely ignored the PSP.

NOTE: I'd rather get a new game than a remake.
I was talking remakes though. True you can get FFVII, VIII,& IX on PSN. But I own those games already in hard copy. But the only way to get a copy of FFIII, (japanese FFIII, NA got FFVI under that title FFIII) is to either learn Japanese and get the SNES copy, or get a DS and play the remake with the crappy art style. My original point was if the Nintendo Era is over, then why aren't the FF remakes on the PSP as well as the DS?

...seriously? No one actually takes the iPhone's games seriously, not even the owners of one. They're just 5-minute slots of stupid fun, which you soon delete. Once Apple get a bunch of good games that aren't shovelware, then maybe I'll believe this guy.

I think it's just because Nintendo hae the original rights to these games - FF 3, 4, 5 and I think 6 are the only ones owned by Nintendo, as they originally came out on their console. Nintendo could never publish a FF7 remake, that's Sony's.
Then explain how 1&2 came out on the PSP. Then explain how 4,5,&6 were re-released on the PSone on compilation disks. Nintendo doesn't have the rights to any FF game, neither does Sony.

Not to mention the fact that while the iphone and ipad have so far been great for quirky casual stuff (which isn't a bad thing) it still cant handle anything really "hardcore"

Honestly I don't think iPhone/iPad apps will ever really be able to compete with proper games on either the DS or the PSP... gamers are always going to want a dedicated device which can exactly fit their needs!

Meh dev speak is for chumps, nin has done well with the DS and will do well with the DS2 or whatever it is called I just hope they put TV out on it.....I hate the small screen with a passion......

Apples products are poor game machines, gimmicky cute yes but without better than half assed controls it will not push alot of real game software were as Sony and MS will do well as a all in one portable device.

"But with the DS and the Wii, it's been digging its own grave."

where he lost all credibility to me.

The Wii? Sure, I'll buy that. (not economically mind you)

But the DS isn't digging any graves.

Do you think it's possible that you guys could start proof reading your articles before hitting the post button? There are more spelling mistakes and grammatical errors in this site's articles than there are on 4chan.
Did you know that "handheld" is listed as a typo? Just because there's a red line under it doesn't mean it's incorrect ;)
I'm referring to the replacement of the word "threat" with the word "thread". This is why I chose the words proof read and not the words spell check.
We do proofread. Sometimes things slip through the cracks. Happens. Thanks for pointing it out :)

I get that things slip through the cracks. I get that. But at least two thirds of the articles I read on this site have errors that slip through the cracks. You can assume that I'm exaggerating if you want, but I'm not.
Please let me direct you to:

Life will become considerably more bearable online if you learn to accept the imperfections of internet postings (and posters). Otherwise, it will drive you mad, I assure you!
But this is a proffessional post on a site about news, it is implied they know what is gramatically correct and are atleast formal spelling-wise. He's not being a Grammar Nazi, he's simply pointing out the mistakes and hoping they would fix them.

On-topic: Bwhahahahahahhahaha! BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! BWHHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Yes yes yes. I just think he needs to look to his health; getting worked up over grammatical errors on the internet is guaranteed to shorten one's lifespan. Also, I thought the original issue was with regards to a post, not the feature article. Expecting coherent sentences in any post is perhaps setting standards too high. Better to always be pleasantly surprised when a post resembles English, I say, rather than grind one's teeth down to the numbs reading the standard fare you'll find here. Also, visit Youtube's post sections anytime to put it all in to perspective! Escapist posters will start looking like brilliant masters of communication.

I don't see Nintendo going anywhere. I remember the 90's having a similar scenario.

It seemed that every company out there made a handheld that was technically superior to the Game Boy by leaps and bounds and all of them lost. The iPad is no threat to the DS, since both are vastly different devices. It's like comparing a toaster to a microwave. They may have a few similar features, but they have very seperate purposes.

Honestly, I've heard this over and over and I think it's finally time to chime in on this.

I don't see how Apple is a real threat to Nintendo regarding the handheld market. Sure, when it comes to older gamers Apple might be considered a threat. However, when it comes to children I think Nintendo's reign is far from over. How many people are going to buy a 6, 8, or 10 year old an iphone or ipad as apposed to the cheaper Nintendo DS?

I don't wanna hear crap about those being wiki links. All of the stats posted have been verified in both Nintendo's and Apple's earnings reports.

Now can you tell me how many of those "buyers" actually used the DS systems themselves? How many were gifts for pokebrats? How many DSes were bought for the purpose of Pokemon self trades? If you add all the other top flight phones, does DS still have any advantage?

No, but you won't admit to that.
THAT wasn't the original stipulation. YOU quite boldly claimed that far more people owned Iphones than DSes and thus, have been soundly defeated.

Also, can you tell me how many of those "buyers" actually used the Iphones themselves? How many were gifts for brats? Ah see, your argument is just as vulnerable to itself!

If you add all the other top flight phones, does DS still have any advantage?
Ah, but other phones aren't trying to compete with the DS. Sure, you can play games on them, but, they do not advertise them AS gaming platforms like Apple does:

... Well damit, of course I can't find the commercial for all the damn half-assed parodies on youtube. Thanks again internet community for your wonderful maturity!

In that respect, only Apple is attempting to compete with handheld gaming devices(see Sony taking the bait as a consolation prize):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdZEuW9tjHY

That commercial makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time.

Anyway, at least there is something we can both agree on:

This, of course, does not change the fact that Steve Jobs has the galloping crazies.

This man is an idiot. Why are we paying attention to what he said? So he wrote FF7. Whoop-dee-fucking-do. That gives him no authority when it comes to business projections.

Nintendo does have an enemy in Apple, but just like they always have, Nintendo will come out better for the competition. They did it with Sega, and they've only grown exponentially since then.
Yeah you summed it up pretty well. The iPad is clearly a retarded product, though the 3DS is equally as retarded.
Puh-lease. Smoother graphics then the PSP, allowing Graphic Hores and players alike to enjoy the view.

Optional 3D you can use or turn off, while 3D's big not to mention the competition's 3D cost way more and needs glasses

Nintendo's huge line-up of games for it

The abillity to use the Virtual Console to access ever Nintendo game(excluding Wii) ensures plenty of nostalgia power.

Not to mention many more functions.

This thing's pretty good at being a successor
-Gives new features the old models don't have
-Access to an even larger library
-Refined graphics
-A camera to appeal to more casual non-gamer audiences who wanna mess around
-And a big list of games coming out for the 3DS that lots of people will want to play

Yes that's a list of things I can expect from a product I already thought was shit to begin with and, having read this, still think it is a shit product. Go Nintendo defence force!
