I'm grateful everyday that never has a Miyazaki film been watered down by a sequel.

Robin Hood, the one from Disney with the fox people. Since Disney just LOVES to bastardize everything with direct to DVD sequels to everything they fucking make.

The Dungeons and Dragons movie.

I watched that movie when I was 12, I'd only been playing the game off and on for about a year, but holy crap did that make me cringe, even then.

They should NEVER make that into a second movie. lol

V for Vendetta (I hoped I spelled it right)
It left the ending right were it needed to be. In complete awesomeness.
You couldn't make a sequel. Alan Moore wouldn't allow it. He thought the film was a shitpile and oversimplified the source material.
Yeah he refuses to even see the watchmen film, although I think that's a lot more faithful to the original comic and keeps some of the general themes alive, although the removal of the black freighter was a bit annoying.

Donnie Darko

...fuck
I was just about to say these exact words, S.Darko is just so wrong and just so bad.
The Black Freighter got it's own cartoon DVD release with a fictionally televised Under the Hood. They're not very good to be honest. Alan Moore should watch Watchmen Im think.

Also, since when did Donnie Darko have a sequel? How is it possible?
"S. Darko" is in production, revolving around Donnie's sister, I believe. I know, it sucks.

On-topic, "Sleeping Beauty", "Snow White"...basically, every Disney movie that doesn't already have a sequel.

SUNSHINE

I HATE THAT FILM WITH A PASSION.

It's boring
It's plot is crap
It's scientific reasoning would be more sound if they got a kid to shout "BIG SPWAYSHIP IN SPWAYCE"
It can't choose on a genre
It chooses the wrong one near the end
It sucks
It sucks
Did I mention I HATE IT?!

Highlander.

The first one was awesome, and had a really good, conclusive ending. A lot of its appeal was leaving most of the facts about the Immortals a mystery; it told us what they have to do, but not why they have to do it. Making a sequel could only screw it up horribly.

Wait...
3 wasn;t horrible. and there was no # 2. It NEVER happened, UNDERSTAND?

Speaking of Alan Moore, did you listen to Chain Reaction [http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00lblq9/b00lbl25/Chain_Reaction_Series_1_Stewart_Lee_Interviews_Alan_Moore/] on the radio the other day?

Stewart Lee interviewed Alan Moore, it was both interesting and funny, and in parts he talks about his disdain for film versions of his work. It's well worth checking out if you're a fan (and haven't already heard it).

Back on topic, I'm glad there hasn't been a sequel to The Man From Earth [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0756683/].

It's one of my favourite films of all time, and the idea of a big budget Hollywood sequel cashing in on the film's cult status sickens me.

While you could write another story about John Oldman, as he starts another new life and assimilates himself into another town, eventually being forced to move again as people notice his 'peculiarity', and having to explain himself again, a sequel would be gratuitous, especially without Jerome Bixby alive to write it.

It would be even more horrendous if an action sequel was made, with John Oldman running from a shady organization who want to experiment on him to learn his secret.

The Man From Earth is one Sci-Fi masterpiece that, like it's writer, should be left to rest in peace.

This...a masterpiece of successful transference of a graphic novel to film, and also, on the same level, the crow. The film wasn't perfect, but was still good, and if Hollywood think a sequel would help they all need shooting in the back of the head

V for Vendetta, way too good to have a sequel.
A sequel to Saving Private Ryan would also suck.
Oh, and a sequel to Forrest Gump would be... WHAT THE HELL!?

S. Darko is DONE. It was some direct to video release. And yes, its about Donnie's little sister all grown up, and it sucks horribly.
