I've been having some fun playing FF 13 over the last day.
I love the combat, the feel and the sense of place. But one thing that really struck me:
What's up with some of the gestures and 'Japanese' manners?
People are basically insane, I often had a lot of problems to even understand what they were talking about. It's so damn cryptic! The only one that made any sense was Sazh, he seemed to be asking questions and actually using common sense from time to time. It's almost like he represented all the Westeners that didn't know what the hell was going on and was responding to some of the crazy stuff: "...even the fire is crystalized- this is ridiculous!"
When Vanille (I'm having a hard time with the names aswell hahaha) talked to the boy and then loudly proclaimed "Ciao!" upon leaving, I literally burst out in laughter.
What were your first impressions? Can you relate to the characters? Is it as strange to you as it is to me?
