I bite my nails, which has turned into a bad habit as I now do it automatically. I'm really trying to stop though, I even bought one of those liquids you put on your nails to make them taste bad..

I'm a bass player so I keep my finger nails as short as possible, as they start to hinder me when they get long. Except for the index- and middlefinger on my right hand, because those are the ones I use to pluck the strings and I prefer the sound it gets me.

I bite my nails all the time. I think it might be a nervous thing as I always need to be doing something with my hands and it is most likely the reason I smoke as well. I have been known to bite my toe nails as well because i am quite flexible and when i get a good long nails its quite satisfying.
Strangely, however, I like the nails of my girlfriends to be nice and long. I think it has to do with the fact I like a bit of the ol' scratchy scratchy, if you know what I mean.

I'll chew off the tips of my fingernails if they get longer than about 1mm or so. I only use nail clippers or scissors when they get packed with oily engine grime. My toenails are soft enough that I can just use my fingernails to tear off the tips.
I hate having nails shorter than my fingertips, I can't scratch adequately. Moreover it made life easier when I was a cashier many moons ago. Watching habitual nail-chewers try to pick up a penny off a smooth counter was always fun.

Medium length nail is attractive on girls, too long and they start to interfere with fun activites.

I have mine in semi-short french tips, and healthy... use to bite at them quite alot when I was younger though...really badly in Uni...

I can't stand getting them cut. You get that weird naked feeling on the tips of my fingers. I fucking hate naked fingers. It's like living every minute of your life with a small homeless man rubbing himself against you.
