Just curious, what was the first game you really got into? I think it would be fun to share. Mine was Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Genesis.

Well, hard to say, most of my life before 10 years old is a blur, mostly because I had terrible vision; However, some of the memories are still there, I bleieve my first game I got into was Banjo Kazooie. I remeber yelling at the T.V. when I died because I misjuged Kazooie's Flight time.

I vaguely remember replying to a similar thread to this before...

Anyway, it was Mario Brothers on the NES. And I had chickenpox at the time and was watching my cousins play. Not the greatest way to start a gaming career but hey.

The first game I really got into was DOOM. I remember seeing my brother playing it and just basking in the sheer badass awesomeness. I picked it up myself, and was scared shitless. I had to play on "Please don't hurt me"

Numerous Commodore 64 titles.. Wizard of Wor is the only one I remember well. I was only like 4-5 when we had that console. My older bro was heavily into it.

You did. It was called "Your Gaming History." I figured this would get a more positive response from the community because its shorter and more to the point.

I too had a good old Commodore 64 with a ton of game floppys. Ularn on the linux box that is old as I am, and still works perfectly I might add.

Also, I remember really being into the Phantasie games, which were freakin sweet.

EDIT: tiredface makes bad mistakes.

A Blizzard game, that had came with some cd of games they couldn't sell anymore so they packaged them together and practically gave them away. It was the Lost Vikings, and I've been a gamer since.

The first game I played was Duke Nukem 3D, I was ten at the time. 3 months later, I found GTA 3 and I started on the road to gaming.

really got into? ultima ii.

but i loved dragonstomper at around the same time.

i played ultima ii longer, tho. and obviously its sequels.

i played a lot of games at the arcade, but it was a different into. i was more into the whole arcade vibe and social scene, more than any specific game there.

I can't really remember the name of the game, but it was for the Commodore 64. It was a car game in which you could customize your vehicle and you could drive around in a firetruck and put out fires. I remember there was a funny glitch if you crashed the firetruck into too many things. It would vanish and then reappear in front of something else, make the crashing noise, then it would vanish again and repeat. Once that happened I would always have to restart the Commodore because the game was stuck in that loop.

Not sure if anyone else remembers this game.

Final Fantasy 4, back when the US still knew it as 2. This was followed not long thereafter by Final Fantasy 6 (3) and Earthbound. I was an AOL kid in those days, the days when 14.4kbps was reasonable and it was okay to use AOL. I joined an Earthbound fanclub called the Sharks; met my best friend there. I've known him nearly 14 years now.
