See if it fixes all the horrible things that were in Oblivion.

My first tests will be the guards in the cities.

Step 1. Make female Dunmer mage.
Step 2. Install mods.
Step 3. PROFIT. (Get a pet dragon, if not as an actual game feature, then through a mod.)

Dunmer Light Armor Marksman/Assassin/Thief.
It's always fun to just run around and kill people on the first play-through, so this tends to suit exactly what I need.

If we can use offensive magic while sneaking this time around, I'll make a magical thief. Otherwise, an assassin. And unless they announce a new race (like FALMERS! I want FALMERS!), I'll try a Khajiit. I've never seriously played as one.
personnallly I want the dwemers to magically reappear

Argonian ranger that hides in the undergrowth before leaping out at passers by and brutally hacking them apart with my axe. Then leave the bodies in a pile in the road and doing the same to the people that stop to check the bodies. Then use the money I loot to buy lockpicks, break into peoples houses and put ALL their stuff into barrels :3

That, or mod the game to play as a dragon..... that'll be awesome...

Me and a few of my friends are buying it on launch night and cramming about 7 TV's, Ps3/Xbox and PCs respectively and about 12 crates of energy juice.
I refuse to sleep 'till I complete the main story.

Play, play, play, get bored, find mods, repeat until eyes drop out.

That's the formula I used for all Bethesda games so far, and it's worked out great for me. Really, the best thing about Bethesda games are the mods. And if you're interpreting that as me bashing Bethesda, don't. Fun is fun, no matter who made it.

Redguard, dualwielding an axe and a mace, heavy armour and heavy duty acrobatics/athletics/speed/whatever equivalent is in this chapter of the Elder Scrolls.

Also, I'll try and find the nicest looking house(in Oblivion that was the Skingrad place for me) or the cheapest nice one(the house in Anvil in Oblivion : 2000-3000 gold for a large house, fully furnished AND a sweet secret dungeon in the basement!) so that I can store the trophies of my many, many conquests.

And I'm planning on becoming head honcho of ALL the guilds/organisations the game'll let me. I just loved being an orc archmage in heavy armour that could do backflips in Oblivion, I hope for the same level of potential insanity in Skyrim :D

I'll likely be one of the elven races, depending on their heights. Playing as an Altmer bothered me in Oblivion because they were annoyingly tall - I was constantly looking down at people I was talking to.
Similarly, the Wood Elves (my main character was one) were too short, though I still found them playable - they're probably my favourite race.

On the other hand, I'm considering playing a Breton, though I wouldn't want to be focused on magic.
I'll also be spending a lot more time on the character creation screen this time around - I rushed it in Oblivion and my character ended up looking ugly as sin.

Whatever race, it'll probably be an assassin/mage type - lots of stealth, and rocking some shortswords and illusion/destruction magic. As before, I'll learn a bit of conjuration to bail me out if things go to shit and I need a distraction.

My first character in each Elder Scrolls game tends to be an Imperial with focus on swords, healing magic and whatever the conversation/charisma skill turns out to be... something Paladin-like with mostly medium-heavy armor. I'll most likely finish the main storyline with him, then promptly start a new character, probably a Bosmer thief/assassin type or maybe a Nord barbarian, after downloading as many awesome mods as have been finished by the time I complete the game.

Ahem...

I AM ARCANA MANIFEST! BOW BEFORE MY TERRIBLE POWER! I WHISPER IN THE EAR OF THE UNIVERSE, AND IT ACQUIESCES TO MY EVERY DEMAND! BY MY WILL ARE WORLDS SHAPED, DEADRIC LORDS BOUND, AND TIME UNSPUN! FEAR ME MORTAL, FOR YOUR IMPOSSIBLE IS MY EVERY BREATH!

I suppose I could ask for a better place to set it in (I HATE Norse-flavored stuff, so the Nords can get shipped to Valhalla collectively for all I care), but it still looks quite nice.
