i wouldnt do that even for my own country, unless the circumstance involved the United States being taking over by a tyrannical dictator or something. however, other than the Revolutionary War and the Union side of the Civil War, there hasnt been a war really worth fighting (imo).

as for another country entirely, it would depend on whether or not the country deserves to be helped at all. i like Canada and England, but if they were to start a war for some stupid or wicked reasons, and somehow started losing, i wouldnt give a shit.

Not gonna lie, I wouldn't fight for any country. The only point I've seen in war is to kill enough people until one side says, "we give up" due to a lack of funds, men, or reason and try to move on with existence, or to simply eradicate them completely from the face of the Earth altogether. Not to mention, in the end all you get from said country is either some land, resources, or a *****. Sure if you live, you're set for life, but if you don't then you just wasted yourself fighting for reasons you probably don't really give a damn about. I'm not gonna risk my life for that, since I doubt I'm gonna actually save people. Plus while your fighting, some random politician, general, etc just get's to sit back and count how many of you are still alive then take that number, find out how many have died, and use it as a way to make the enemy look even worse and get another batch of eager people to "serve their country." I'll most likely end up killing a lot more people than saving them and then end up making a good meat shield for my fellow soldiers.

Oh and before people start bitching at me: Holy hippie anti-war rant Batman!

Now the Moon, I'd fight for that. Controls our Oceans thus keeps a good portion of the planet from flooding and it's one of the things on this planet everyone can appreciate. Plus it makes for good real estate! I'd defend Luna!

There is no such country, not even my own. I might risk my life for people i love but not for politicians that pull the strings in their comfy chairs form a far.

I think I'm with alot of other people in this thread that I would fight more for ideals than for a country. I think most people in the UK nowadays see the USA as a 'brother' almost. I respect a lot of their ideals and they produce a lot of things that make me happy so I would probably fight for them if any.

The British also have the propensity to kick off when anyone threatens a small country. We are suckers for the underdog.
The English HATE America. Not that it means much, mind; we hate most of the countries in the world.

We should stop that, sorry but its not our job to play world police, you will just endup weakening yourself defending others, who wont help you.
NATO plays world police, so most of Western Europe do it. If anything, America plays it the most and Britain just sucks up to them. Not as much any more, but it still happens.

I wouldn't fight solely for any country but I'd fight to protect their people.

I fight for personal liberty, privacy, and priority. Net neutrality, gay marriage, legalized drugs/prostitution, and draconian anti-trust policies are a good way to getting my support. I want to have the right to make decisions for myself, or at least, I want the right to make decisions once I'm a civilian again.

Mexico would be the only country that I'd consider because their people have been doing a lot of the crappy, yet necessary jobs in the US for the past couple decades and I'm quite a fan of Mexican food. Everyone knows that some day America and Mexico are going to team up to take over Canada, it's sort of an unspoken agreement.

I wouldn't support European countries because they have enough manpower to get the job done and don't need the support of the US while a country like Mexico wouldn't be able to repel a large scale attack on its own.

Captcha: Ialeness demands. Looks like we need more sacrifices for Lord Inglip. Ialeness demands it.

Eh... As much as I dislike saying it, I'd say fight for the UK. But i would fight till the war is won. i'd fight inside in a guerrilla fashion until I found my friends and get them out safely. Then i would firmly end that shit and go home with my friends to their new home.

Yeah becuase the UK totally wanted to invade afghanistan and then get America envolved... Oh wait, other way round.

Sorry but the current wars we re in exluding Libya, is becuase our PM had his head up Bush's ass.
Nice to see you have been reading The Sun....

I don't think Tony Blair had his head up anyones ass... Just becuase 2 people agree on somthing doesn't mean the second one isn't capable of making thier own mind up.

Anyway this isn't what this thread is about...

None. I refuse to die on any other county's say-so than my own. Now if they drafted me (which at that point they're desperate as I'm pretty much unable to serve the conditions as they stand now) and told me to help them defend said other country I would gladly do that. Am I just going to go all French Foreign Legion... aw nope.

"Countries"? I wouldn't fight for a country. I just don't feel loyalty towards groups that way, particularly when the groups are more-or-less arbitrary designations of geographical, political and cultural divides, my own homeland (USA) included.

A CAUSE, on the other hand, I might fight for that. If the sides were at least fairly clearly delineated, if I could say without too much hesitation who was "right" and who was "wrong" and be as certain as possible that the cause was actually central to the conflict rather than a mere excuse for yet another power grab - but then it doesn't matter what country's banner I'm under, so long as I can die knowing I was fighting for the right side.

Finding such a cause would probably be harder than the actual fighting and dying.
