I own a black Wrath Of The Lich King shirt with Arthas on the back that I got from Hot Topic. During the school year I'd walk in with it and at least one or two of my friends would say 'Holy crap nerd! Why don't you burn that shirt?' Neither of them play WoW, or probably even know its a computer game. Why do they hate it so much?
Because they're assholes, but that's okay because you can be a dick. Which makes you both better than pussies. Occasionally assholes shit on dicks, but remember sometimes dicks fuck assholes too. With that said, wear your shirt with pride.

Wearing any shirt that represents a video game is a dorky thing to do.

Ever see those guys who walk around with their halo shirts on? Do you ever see them and think, "Those are some awesome guys who play halo." NO, because those guys are always the absolute dweebs who take gaming way to seriously, and are bad at everything else. Personal observation of these individuals would yield the same conversations: They would talk about an awesome in game kill or match or some other shit that doesn't matter. A glance at their report cards tells you that they can't do simple math, complete a sentence, tell you what sedimentary rocks are, why december 7th 1941 is important, and that they get picked last for dodgeball.

Take another example of a friend of mine in high school. He was a big WoW nerd, and all around videogame junkie, but he never wore a WoW shirt, or any video game shirt for that matter. He spent countless hours on WoW, but he was also good at his studies (he was #3 in our class), a selection of sports that interested him, and never once talked about how cool an explosion was, or how awesome a raid on blah blah blah was.

Now granted, you might be good at other things other than WoW, but the image that wearing a videogame t-shirt conveys is that of a person is totally obsessed, that's why they want you to burn it.
This.

I instantly stopped conversing with this kid who sat at our lunch table when he brought in all sorts of Fallout 3 paraphernalia because:
1. It is all he would talk about.
2. Image.

I know "image" might be a petty thing to worry about, but when you're trapped in a high school for three years, you're going to want to maintain a positive one.

Most people hate WoW even though they've never played it. Before I played it I really dislike it...

Okay, I'll tell you why they do this. Because they've heard all about this game,(but have never played it)what it does, has done, and how it has even actually ruined marriages/relationships. So therefore they make fun of anyone who has played. I know this because I use to be one of these people. I wasn't a douche bag as much as they are, but I did crack the occasional. That was until I played it. Now I have 4 80's, but at least I still have my g/f and closest friends. Most of the shirts I wear, cause I take pride in my gaming side, is from here: www.jinx.com

If its not clickable copy and paste, lazies.

I like World of Warcraft. I like it a lot. I mean, I REALLY like it. It may be one of my favorite games. But now, if I saw one of my friends wearing a WoW T-shirt, I'd have to comment. I think they're tacky myself. It may just be a style thing, but that's just my opinion.

(Of course, I really shouldn't comment on style since I have a bright green shirt that says "Geometry" on it, but nevertheless...)

Cause WOW scares off many potential lovers(it takes up a lot of time) and they are trying to get you layed.

Heck I'm a gamer and I would be wary of dating a WOW player.

Hey that's bull crap, I have my robes of nerve on.

Am I really ignorant? I've been trying to be "less ignorant" if that makes since. Like for reals, I've been trying to stay away from religion threads and everything.

This, also they mightn ot want to be seen with a WoW person, seeing as WoW is practically a synonym for "Women Deflector"
If I saw you wearing a WoW t-shirt I would find every opportunity to talk to you, or the person wearing said T-shirt. I might even jump you for the t-shirt in question.

'Tis not a Woman Deflector.

It's terrible fashion sense, imo. Then again, I suppose I care too much about looking professional and not like I just came from Bubba's BBQ in the trailer park.

This is just terrific, nearly brought a tear to my eye. Just the fact you went to a Hot Topic tells enough. Personally i dont have anything against bandshirts, but Hot Topic is just... Bad.

Also there's another unwritten rule in life; you NEVER, EVER wear gaming shirts. Because you are, even if you dont want to accept it, are a nerd if you do. And the 'cool' kids at school and all the girls will think youre an idiot and will make fun of you. That guy that was banned for saying that youre doomed to be a virgin is fucking right dude. Because you will...

... Unless you lose your virginity by visiting a whore or by rape of course.

Just wear that shirt indoors and you'll be fine.

To the untrained non-gamer, Arthas is simply a much much cool-looking knightly figure. If they recognised him as the Lich King of Azeroth they're pretty big hypocrites to call you a nerd.

Perhaps there stood 'World of Warcraft' on his shirt?

Marry me?

OT - It does get a bad press from a lot of people who have never played. Not sure why, people seem to assume that if you play it you have no real life/social skills.
