Apollo 1: Manned 'plugs-out' test of Saturn V launch vehicle on launch pad. Fire caused the deaths of all three astronauts aboard. Resulted in system redesign of a large portion of Vehicle and Command Module.
Apollo 2: Testing of SIVB stage of Saturn V.
Apollo 3: Testing of SIB stage and Internal automatic guidance systems.
Apollo 4: Testing of the SIIB and SIIIB stages as well as unmanned Reentry tests and scenarios.
Apollo 5: Unmanned test of the Lunar Module.
Apollo 6: Lunar injection trajectory test, successfully simulated an orbit that would take the Service Module to the moon, direct abort test and reentry scenario also successful.
Apollo 7: Manned testing of service and command module systems in Earth orbit.
Apollo 8: Initially planned to be further testing similar to 7, accelerated schedule re-designated the mission to be a circum-lunar flight. Man orbits the moon for the first time, December 24th, 1968.
Apollo 9: Manned earth-orbit testing of the Lunar Lander.
Apollo 10: Procedure testing of Lunar landing including deployment and docking of Lunar module, no landing.
Apollo 11: First manned landing on the moon. EVA on surface by Astronauts: 2.6 hours
Apollo 12: Launch suffered near-abort problem due to Saturn V being struck by lightning twice. Second manned lander on the moon. EVA on surface by Astronauts: 7.8 hours
Apollo 13: Mission aborted during lunar-transit due to oxygen system explosion. Astronauts currently hold Human altitude record.
Apollo 14: Third manned landing on the moon. Malfunctioning computer led to ad-hoc repogramming of Lander computer system while it was descending to the moon. EVA on surface by Astronauts: 9.3 hours
Apollo 15: Fourth manned landing on the moon, first usage of the Moon Rover. EVA on surface by Astronauts: 18.5 hours
Apollo 16: Fifth manned landing on the moon, Astronauts Young and Mattingly return largest rock from moon. EVA on surface by Astronauts: 20.2 hours
Apollo 17: Sixth and thussofar most recent landing on the moon. One of the astronauts takes the famous "Blue Marble" photograph. EVA on surface by Astronauts: 22.0 hours
Apollo 18: Repurposed as Apollo-Soyuz Test Project.
Apollo 19: Repurposed as Skylab 1.
Apollo 20: Cancelled due to Budgetary reasons under the Johnson Administration.
