--January 1917 - British Frontline Trenches - Somewhere on the French border--
Ernst prowled his way through the trenches, knife in one hand, pistol in the other. He could hear the English soldiers shouting, trying to figure out what was going on. Ernst had made sure to let one get away to raise the alarm, no sense it keeping this quiet. Actual fights were becoming Ernst's favorite way of terrorizing the enemy troops. He grin with an obvious hunger, eyes darting to see where the next frightened Briton would appear. As if thinking of them made them appear, two young English soldiers turned the corner, running to get to their position. The stopped dead in their tracks as they saw Ernst continuing his slow stalking through the trenches. For several seconds they simply stared as the German operative moved ever closer, exuding an aura of menace the whole way.

Finally one snapped out of the near-trance and brought his rifle up to fire. He didn't even bother aiming, simply firing at the approaching figure. Ernst half-stumbled back as the bullet tore through him. To the surprise of the two Englishmen, he did not fall. Instead he looked them in the eyes and charged with an almost feral snarl on his lips. The other soldier took aim at Ernst as well while his comrade fired two more shots. Their efforts were futile though as Ernst viciously tore into the pair, slashing wildly with his combat knife. The two were soon lying in pools of their own blood and Ernst bent down to feast again, needing the blood to help recover from his new wounds. As he looked up to see if anyone else was approaching, he made out a lone figure, one who was oddly calm for what was going on in the trenches.

--Modern Day - Fortress of the Vampire Queen--
Leaving the room while Catherine and Melianara began to converse, Ernst stretched and pulled out his other knife. This one was less worn, though obviously old, and had a swastika engraved in the handle. Ernst had spilled the blood of plenty a Russian during those 4 long years. Shame it ended in the ruins of Berlin, but Ernst "lived" on. Plus if it weren't for the Soviets he wouldn't have bumped into his first werewolf. What a time that was...

His mind brought back to the subject at hand, he turned to face the other two vampires, Vincent and... Tim, he believe Melianara had called him. He smiled with one of his murderous grins again, looking at the two. "So then, either of you up for a lap around the area, see if we catch any wildlife out there?"

"I was under the impression that my efforts over the past few years were unwanted and unreturned. I see no sense in staying any longer than I have to unless that has changed my liege. Besides..." she pulled out one of her blades, the design on it pristine. "You'd rather I kill werewolves right? After your rousing speech I'm sure the others are getting ready to go on the prowl for... trespassers." Her violet eyes stared back, this time managing to hold her gaze.

She smiled slightly. "I wouldn't want to leave you with such an impression. And I must stave off your werewolf hunt, as per my orders. Are you sure there isn't something a little more...fun for you to do?" She continued to stare into her eyes, green eyes locked onto Catherine's violet eyes.

William stood straight to his full height.
"Yes brothers and sister I declare it open season on all Vampires however I would caution you against attacking a nest directly they think us dumb animals driven on nothing but instinct but we are better than that.First oder Curtis I want you to go to the den and speak to the alpha see why the young one was so close to the vampire fortress I may need to strip the title of alpha from him so direct him to come directly to me.Alexander you may accompany him if you so wish. Both of you be sure to eliminate any vampires you see on the way but be discreet about it.Unless anyone has any further questions for me this meeting is over."

I'll control the Alpha when you go and see him.

"It's only a patrol..." Catherine slinked around Melianara, taking note of her rather modern catsuit that didn't leave much to the imagination. "It's only to get a feel for your grounds since I'll be spending the next few weeks navigating it. And I'd much rather do it while the werewolves are figuring out what to do instead of when they attack." she stopped, inches away from her ear. "I may be in a hurry to leave, but I'll be in much more a hurry to come back~" she left the Queen with that, deciding to treat herself to the pangs of desire and delayed gratification. She was already familiar with the castle, and started to look for her new companions.

Melianara smiled, sitting back on her throne. Catherine had been punished, but reassured. She hated to let the vampires get out of control, but she saw what had happened to her mentor. She had turned on him, and the same fate would not fall to her.

"Do you need me to do anything, William?" *Lyon asked.*

"Should I try to gather information on our enemies, maybe?"

*Lyon would happily go back to doing nothing more than remaining in the shadows, but since she had been summoned. she might as well ask.*

William looked at Lyon.
"You're good at staying unnoticed any info you can gather would be greatly appreciated.Be careful though a vampires sense of smell is almost as good as ours."

Alexander got up off of his seat and shrugged, passing it off as not a bother. On the inside though, he was annoyed at the fact that he was to be sent with Curtis. At least he could get the chance to wrap his hands around those unholy abominations throats, and besides, Curtis seemed smarter than his most recent company before this meeting.

"Right. I have no further questions." He said, streching his arms. He then turned to his "brother" and said, "If your done here i say we leave for the den soon. Rather have this task done as quickly as possible."

Standing and nodding to William, Curtis then turned to Alexander. "Of course, with any luck it was just a case a head strong fool overstepping his skill, and not anything more." Turning and making for the door, he rolled his eyes. This guy seems like a barrel of laughs.

-=January 1917 - British Frontline Trenches - Somewhere on the French border=-

Walking along to the next dugout in the trench, the unnatural chill in the air became almost unbearable, and before too long, Vincnet heard the sound of the alarm being raised. Realising what this meant for his hunting, Vincent ducked low, scowling at the fact he was getting mud on his suit jacket. As the noise died down, it dawned on Vincent that the aura of the other Vampire was suddenly much, much stronger. Instantly linking this and the sound of fighting, Vincent realised that he had competition in his hunt. Straightening up, he picked the sidearm of the corpse of a junior officer, and walked towards the noise. Seeing what was clearly a German soldier standing calmly, with several bullet holes in him, Vincent made another fast connection.

As they were on the same side, militarily, and in terms of unlife, he saw no sense in fighting - as such, he introduced himself. "Vincent", he said, curtly, offering his hand, "Though the army know me as Wilhelm.". With this, he gestured towards no-mans land, and vaulted the trench, settling into a crater, out of the way of the trench.

-=Modern Day - Fortress of the Vampire Queen=
Smiling inwardly at the Queen's almost-calm rebuttal, Vincent wandered slowly out of the room, turning at the door to glance questioningly at Catherine - he assumed this was about her spare head. Lifting his now-lingering gaze, He left the room. "damn", he thought, "her clothes don't leave much to the imagination...".
Standing outside the door, Vincent wished he hadn't left his glass in the room. Ernst asked casually if either of them fancied a hunt, though Vincent refused, hardly eager to get on the Queen's bad side. "Nah", he said to Ernst and Tim, "I think I'll hang around for Catherine- i'm intrigued as to what the Queen wants of her". Truth be told, Vincent didn't really fancy spending too much time with the vampiric equivalent of teenagers - that, and he wanted to check out the Queen's open cellar, ideally with Catherine. Relaxing against a wall, Vincent straightened his suit, and tried to remember why this 'Ernst' seemed familiar to him...

so, Catherine gets told off for getting a freshly embraced kindred killed, and Vincent doesn't get so much as a dark glare for keeping a werewolf chained up in his basement? neat!

It didn't surprise her very much that the first vampire she found was Vincent. She could sense Ernst and Tim nearby, but it looked like they were already leaving.

"I was planing to take a look around the grounds, but it looks like I'm a bit late for the little patrol..." her voice was a little hoarse from Melianara's no doubt brief moment of passion. "But I see you have no interest in it?" she stopped a few feet away, just out of his reach, her hands on her hips.

well i suppose she would be more worried about a vampire that had no qualms killing other vampires than one that tortures werewolves

Vincent allowed himself half a smile as Catherine walked back into the hallway, the signs of recent pressure showing at her throat. "I was planing to take a look around the grounds, but it looks like I'm a bit late for the little patrol, But I see you have no interest in it?", She said, sounding slightly hoarse.
"I was thinking of checking out the open cellar that Melianara mentioned - I wonder how well stocked it is", he replied, smoothly, "Though finding a furball to fill with silver and lead could be pretty fun..." Noticing that Ernst and Tim were still loitering, he added "I think they're waiting for us - or at least you - anyway..."

"You should come. I'm sure the wine cellar will be much more refreshing after we've had a little fun~" She tossed her hair a little as she walked past him, taking care to barely brush against him. Heading to the door she stopped and half turned back. "Won't you join us?~"

Pulling the revolver out of his inside pocket, Vincent checked that the rounds inside were Silver - they were - and turned to Catherine. "we'd best find one of those furballs - and not a new one, either". Vincent walked back past Catherine, and out of the fortress's imposing doors.
As soon as he had stepped outside, he was hit by an Icy night wind, with the subtle scent of wolves. Refreshed by the breeze, Vincent spun the revolver around his index finger a couple of times, before bringing it to rest by his side.

--January 1917 - British Frontline Trenches - Somewhere on the French border--
As the figure grew closer, Ernst found the feeling he had had earlier , this time stronger than ever. The man was in a German officer's uniform but spoke in English as he introduced himself with a clear British accent. His calm demeanor didn't fit with the current situation either. All these facts meant only one thing: this man was not at all who he appeared to be. In fact...

"Stabsgefreiter Schulz. I believe you are not with the Deutsche army, are you?" Ernst responded in his best English, halting though it was. His grip loosened on his weapons; obviously this being wasn't looking for a fight.

--Modern Day - Fortress of the Vampire Queen--
Ernst saw that Catherine had exited the room and was talking briefly with Vincent, who's face just seemed more and more familiar now that Ernst thought about it. The name seemed to ring a bell was well, though why he wasn't sure about either. He glanced back to Tim, who still hadn't said a word, probably feeling out of place amongst older vampires.

As Ernst looked back over at the pair, he saw that Catherine was walking over to him and Tim, tossing her hair a bit while looking back at Vincent.

"Frau Catherine, are you up for some wolf hunting tonight or at least a pass around the territory to get to know the hunting grounds better?" Ernst's toothy grin never seemed to leave his face.

"Yes I am, although our dear Queen has made it painfully clear we are not to trespass on their territory. I wonder if the wolves are so cautious..." she took out a small vial filled with blood. "I think they'll come out and play with proper... motivation~" Catherine had made sure to get more than one use out of that newly embraced corpse. If there was one thing that drew werewolves like flies to honey, it was the blood of a young injured vampiress. "Shall we go thoroughly investigate the border?" she grinned, looking over the three vampires.

Oh yeah, this one will be fun to be with. Ernst's grin grew larger as Catherine showed off her plan. "Jawohl! Let us make sure that the werewolves don't come to close to the fortress or don't go after anything they may think of as easy prey." So impressed with the female vampire's idea, Ernst decided to show off a little class for once. Bowing slightly and motioning to the door, Ernst did his best to appear slightly respectable, as odd as it was for his appearance. "You first meine Frau."

"Stabsgefreiter Schulz. I believe you are not with the Deutsche army, are you?", Said the figure in faltering English. Deciding to give his fellow vampire an easier ride, Vincent replied in German - Fluent, but with a distinctly english accent. "Yeah, i'm with the German army, in an unofficial capacity - I'm only on the 'lines for a couple of months... You're a vampire, are you not?" Vincent felt safe announcing their nature in the British trench, as he highly doubted that any of them would understand.

--Modern Day - Fortress of the Vampire Queen--
Happy with Catherine's lure for the werewolves, Vincent checked the presence of his silver-edged blade, and cocked the hammer of his revolver - "damned single action", he thought, "I ought to get a modern replacement".
Vincent looked behind him, and chuckled a little at Ern- Wait. Vincent was hit by a sudden wave of realisation. The vampire who was trying (and failing) to look respectable in the doorway was the very same he'd met in the British trenches in 1917. Wondering if Ernst had come to the same realisation, Vincent turned and asked him "Did you serve in Kaiser Wilhelm's army, Ernst?" The mystery lifted, Vincent felt somewhat more lighthearted, and once again spun his revolver around his finger, Idly waiting for the others to decide what order they would exit in...

@Irony: Vincent's speech from the WW1 sections was kinda supposed to be translated from german, but i'll roll with it. it is translated now, as it'll save other RPers the hastle.

Laughing a little, Catherine held the vial in her mouth as she checked her blades. Lovely~ The night air was cool, and a waning moon left little light. It was relatively easy to guess which direction the werewolves' territory was, with the wind being cooperative for once. I wonder if I look innocent enough to play the part~ with one last sniff at the air, she started to run for the border.
