J'yalyt-ket (means knife-bird, or knife-kite)
A flightless primitive bird, it still has small claws on short wings. Their beak does not seem distinguishable from their face, as it has the same colour and texture. Like all true birds, they have no teeth. Their bodies can be puffed up, to make orange, striped feathers stand on end, this is a method of intimidation before attacking. Their main weapons are their beak, talons, and a large structure at the top of the head, which is used to headbutt attackers, breaking bones and tearing open stomachs. They are herbivorous, reasonably intelligent, but shy. They do not attack unprovoked. They reside in deep forests, which there are two of on planet raytelak. They are 5 to 7 feet talk, and can run at speeds of 30mph. They have superb vision with their small, yellow eyes. Some have been raised from eggs and tamed.

7. Baharm, he is the oldest ever rasem at the age of 150, he is 12ft tall and weighs nearly 2 tons. Baharm is seen as the toughest rasem around and also the most skilled fighter being able to take down creatures more then twice his size. He is the captian of a battle ship which travels the universe looking for the most dangerous creatures, the crew ,though small, has some of the most lethal of their species and also has three other rasem on board.

Race:
Lazarus is a Chema (pronounced Kekleon in old version of the native tongue). They are a reptilian humanoid that most resemble chameleons in their evolution. They evolved on a planet coated in heavy colorful vegetation which meant that to survive they had to develop camouflage like chameleons, by the time they reached civilization their camouflage had reached the level of almost total invisibility. In order to traverse the huge plantscapes of their planet they developed gecko like hairs on their hands and feet which allow them to scale almost any surface. Physically they are thin agile humanoids that move fast and quiet over any surface. They are almost human like except their bodies are covered in thin scales that give them their camouflaging properties and their face is mostly featureless with distinctive green eyes. Chema still have mostly functionless tails that curl like those of a chameleon. They use translators to communicate with other races as their speech is a sequence of rapid clicks beyond most hearing ranges. This speech doubles as a rudimentary echolocation and it is said that Chema always talk to each others backs as they can see via echolocation as they speak. Chema have a natural colour that changes during the different stages of their lives but they always keep their colour a grey green outside of their home planet and only show their true colour while mating. Their scales while incredibly useful for camouflage offer no protection
on and in order for their camouflage to work they cannot wear Armour and thus can never engage openly.
Due to their properties they became known as formidable infiltrators. It is said by those who know they exist that a Chema can get into any building and take out any target without anyone knowing he has been there. Of course in reality it is not that simple but as far as infiltration goes there really is no better. The male of the species is the dominant one and the only gender to leave the home planet which sits on the border of all that is known while the females who are thought to be very attractive humanoids all remain on the home planet. They are highly antisocial and work alone as rogues, spies and assassins for hire to the highest bidder. Slowly throughout history the highest bidder became the U.G.F and most of the few Chema that left the home planet became spies or assassins for the U.G.F though some privateers still remain.
Appearance: Lazarus looks like most Chema, he is grey/green but nobody would really know because he wears a dark black cloak that covers everything. Only a faint hint of his tail can be seen and if one where to look into the shadow under his hood they would see the bright green eyes eyes staring maliciously from below. Only his arms protrude occasionally to make contact with things. He wears gloves to stop his hands from sticking to everything he touches.
Personality: Like most Chema Lazarus is the solitary type, he works alone and even when given a squad tends to venture off to difficult to reach sniper points or infiltrate a base and disable security on his own. He is a tactical mind, capable of thinking around obstacles but does not have much in the way of leadership. Like most Chema he lacks morality by nature and will follow most orders without question unless they are tactically non-viable. In a group he stays quiet talking little and observing a lot. During the rare times he does feel emotions he often changes his eye colour to reflect that and he uses the scary looking Chema eyes to intimidate if needs be.
Weapons expertise: He carries a magazine fed silent dart rifle (and a similar pistol) that shoots lethal or tranquilizer darts. Totally useless against Armour but one hit kill against flesh. He also has a small power blade that turns nearby molecules into lethal toxin. Theoretically he could turn enemy Armour toxic but because he wears no Armour he would never get anywhere near that close. His real powers are technical, Lazarus is a master of infiltration and infiltration technology. He wears a tool similar to a mass effect omni tool one his left arm allowing him to hack computers and ships and most importantly, enemy armour suits. Given some time he can use devastating techniques that disable the healing elements or heads up displays on the suit. Given ten minutes un-distracted he can lock the motion in suits within a 20 metre radius of him but this would require squad backup.
Additional equipment: His robe and tools are designed to go perfectly translucent with the touch on a button. While this translucent camouflage is perfect the Chema camo is not so their is still a slight haze where he passes.
God(Holy): Yurgo is his holy god. The Chema are secret heretics though who believe in a plant like reptilian monotheistic god as well as the normal set. They don't tell anyone though since it is heresy of the highest form.
Weaknesses: No Armour. If he get's hit he is most likely dead as their camo stops working then exposing him. Basically there is no direct combat. Only stealth attacks with guaranteed one hit kill status or support tech attacks. Furthermore his magic is close to none existent.
Likes(Things you enjoy): Lazarus enjoys seeing and looking after plants as they remind him of the homeland, furthermore he likes humidity as it allows him to breathe more easily.
Backstory: Lazarus grew up on a large tree and spent most of his younger years learning hunting skills. He took up a job on the home planet as an apprentice technician, using the knowledge he gained to learn about the Technology used to protect buildings giving him dangerous insider information on the function of security. This all went to help his next job as a hired assassin on the home planet, he slowly gained a reputation in his sector as a strong assassin which is an incredible feat considering he was up against his own kind. The echo ability Chema have allow them to spot each other even when invisible making tactical positioning key and he used all this experience when a warlord (spy-lord would be more accurate) banished him from the home planet during an attempted assassination. During an attack on a bounty he accidentally ran into two enemies having a conversation, the echolocation picked him up instantly and he barely escaped. Banished he went to seek his fortunes outside of the world he knew. He worked for a few years in freelancing in some of the more lawless parts of the known universe before recieving a high paying job with the U.G.F.
Are you more proficient with weapons, magic or are you balanced?: Weapons and tech. Basically no magic there.
Magic specialty: Soul magic. He can only make a small haze appear in the air. In a 100% humidity environment this could make mirages.

Wooo I did not think I would get in there. Character sheet still in progress. Also My finals are in two weeks so I will net be going at full steam till those are over.
The Chema Home planet is Incredibly dense in vegetation with trees the size of mountains and networks of bushes and plants of all colours the sizes of multi-storey buildings. The humidity is very high as is the xenon content of the air which the plants use for their coloration.

We hardly know abut the other species. We just kill them and steal fro them. The Chema are rare and hard to come by.
3-So what type of government is each species using (or at least what were they doing before joining the U.F.G?).
The Chema live so far away that they are not really part of the U.G.F. The tiny trickle of rogues mostly integrated themselves. On the home planet however the world is run by a council. Chema are peaceful towards each other and disputes are settled by challenge. A surprisingly primitive society that just about works.
4-How does you're species fit into the U.F.G?
They didn't, as a species the Chema just sort of appeared. They are used as top level agents dispatched on high rank missions before the main fighting force. They operate alone.

Not so sure...Money is money and U.G.F is the highest bidder.

The Chema had tribal origins and the tribes did fight a lot. Some prominent Chema species include the flying vegetarians who are large in size and live at the highest altitudes. The ground beasts are mostly lizards. Only one really large ground species exist and they resemble dinosaurs. No other species is sentient.

Lazarus was once forced to infiltrate a base of enemy Chema infiltrators. That never goes well. He escaped by breaking into the hollow center of the kilometer high tree and sliding down a core shaft.

3-Anyone find the fact Norg are pretty much gender blind weird? Has this caused any hilarity to ensue. For example there have been cases of human males getting out of Norg prisons because they were pregnant.
Kinda wierd for a chema. Their bizarre exotic humanoid females are very distinctive from the males.
4- What was everyone's first kill? How did they do it? Why?
Lazarus was paid to do it. Chema are contractors by nature.

Hmmmm the Chema do like their females so no. Wait me as a poster personally? I aint sayin anythin........... Yeah the Chema.

***Appearance: 4'3", 45360 grams in mass. Brown skin, red eyes. No deviations from racial form.
***Armor: White and Black completely covering body. With round stylization, the armor has a clear visor that darkens to adjust for lighting conditions set for Xo's species (thus will generally appear tinted). The armor lacks huge deviations from standard Mantarian body (and antennae tuck under helmet, as a mammalian species would hair). Simplistic, sleek, and efficient, the armor focuses on defenses and speed -- any weaponry would be wasted in Xo-Gamma's hands. He can just cast magic spells, anyway.
***Personality: Polite, but sort of lazy when the subject matter isn't of interest.

***Backstory: Mantarians live on the world of Altus-2, a porous and watery world with a very large moon. As such (for reasons that would diverge heavily from the point at hand), Xo-Gamma was immediately immersed in his species' magical studies (as they had little in the way of pure technology). Xo-Gamma was, as his second name implies, the third child in his family. He grew up fairly normally, though his older brother Xo-Beta was fairly sickly. The medics who cared for him were what inspired Xo-Gamma to become a medic, and the technological assistance provided from off-world was what gave Xo-Gamma the idea to go interstellar.
***Race: Xo-Gamma is a Mantarian. Mantarians are a carbon-based aqueous race who seem to descend from lifeforms an Earthling might mistake for some kind of land-based crustacean. The primary attribute to note is the species' ability to see in infrared, though this renders them red/green colorblind as compensation.
They usually don't have much variation, so the appearance of Xo-Gamma is mostly an accurate image: skin color usually varies slightly, sometimes appearing more red than the dark brown of Xo-Gamma's skin. They are all bald and have vestigial antennae, and the outer layer of skin is comparatively inflexible for a humanoid, and around the joints it has folds almost akin to a shelled creature (though this species has only an endoskeleton). Other than that, Mantarians have four-digit hands, and the feet have webbed digits. This species is generally around four feet tall and have narrower frames for a humanoid, lending to their lack of physical strength; however, this does not entail fragility.

1-Do the Chema know their invisibility doesn?t work on the Norg (they can sense muscle movements like shark can). How do they react to this, have they anyway to counter it?
2-Anyone been badly bothered by the Chema? What?s the most destructive you have been?
3-Would you consider doing a little job for the Norg? There is a certain tribe that needs removing on a planet called Joom. (see post 124 on this page).
1. Yes they have encountered the Norg. They are not totally dependent on their invisibility. They instead use their mobility when fighting Norg. By climbing walls and staying out of range they can sneak up undetected. Nevertheless this makes assassinations more difficult.
2. The Chema have gained a bad name amongst the few who know about them. Their destruction comes in the form of high profile assassinations. With their increasing use at the hands of the U.G.F the S.C has put out kill orders on any Chema not working for them as there have been some serious damages done to the command structure.
3. If the pay is right a Chema would have little problems killing anything on a world covered in jungle. They would be fighting on their home terrain and a Chema agent would probably enjoy a mission on a similar planet without the risk of encountering other Chema. "Give the name and location of the man you want dead" is the approach to be taken here. Of course if a whole U.G.F squad was deployed a Chema would use them as misdirection and take out the leader of the tribe.
Edit: While the Norg can detect invisible Chema the Mantarians will not find their Infra red vision of any use. This is for two reasons. The Camo is of a partially refractive nature where the scales that can assume many properties assume those of special mirrors and camera's. This combines a refractive light barrier that would refract even infra-red spectrums around the target and a perfect camo that changes the scales to represent their surroundings in incredible detail. The second reason is that Chema are Hybrid warmbloods. Their blood is a sort of lukewarm as opposed to the outright cold blood most reptiles have but they exude almost no heat because on a humid planet that would be too easy to detect.
Edit: I will start with the pistol but if my first mission involves the norg I will go with the sniper as well. As tranquilizer weapons they have no effect on armour so I don't think it is op. Later in the RP I may pick up some sonic stun grenades.
Edit: Ohh can you start listing up the squads. If more people join just edit the post. I want to make sure that my character fits in the squad (maybe I should be with a norg who can detect me or something like that).

Before the introduction of the main god's the Chema believed in some kind of Kekleonic part lizard part plant monodiety who controlled the life of the planet. It was more of a ritualistic luck thing really. Till today they still believe in this god on top of the normal ones but they don't tell anyone as this is herecy.
2.what is a taboo among your race?
Chema disaprove of showing ones true colour to anyone except ones partner. Going below the foliage in areas of such dense ground level ecology is also a taboo.
3does you race have any relics of importance?
The old plant in the centre of the big city o the home planet is millions of years older than anything else and extrudes all sorts of useful materials.

Not really, Some intense inter tribe subterfuge but that's all.

The female of the species enjoy rearing lizards and plants in small greenhouses. The males do not keep pets.
6.what are your buildings like?
Chema structures are quite interesting. The plants are so large that sometimes a small village can be built on one leaf. In the city the buildings are dug into the larger trees or built on top of the foliage. They are often made of special organic metals that allow the plant to grow in and around them.

1. the rasem believed that their planet was the only one in existence and that after you died you were send to an eternal battlefield.

retreating from a fight and letting your foe live, the only time they do let their foe live is if they take something of importance e.g. taking the horns and wings from another rasem.

their home planet is the only relic of importance they have as it is their breading grounds and the only thing based down through the generations of rasem.

there was a war every generation, as well as constant fighting amongst each other as survival of the fittest was the only law that the rasem had.
5.does you race keep any pets?
some rasem take one of the animals from their home planet as attack animals before they leave their home planet.
6.what are your buildings like?
the city is very old and made from a extremely hard solid that rasem used to produce but don't any more, the buildings are tall and far apart, to leave room for battles, and resmble honey cones.
