I'm a girl and I would rather see explosions instead of a sappy love story. Does that make me un-girly. O.OGodavari said:You were like that, too. It's a phase of either ogling and "drama" (as with the girls), or ogling and explosions (as with the guys). They'll grow out of it, just like you did.
But, ya know, subjective is neither bad nor good. It just kind of, in its own nebulous way, is. And people will still rant that "This is way better because..." or "That sucks because..." Spoken word poetry for example. I love it; I write it; I think it's amazingly intelligible and just a great source for inspiration. However, many academicians believe that Spoken word/Slam poetry is incredibly low brow and takes poetry to a place it doesn't belong or something like that. I completely disagree as I think that it elevates the medium to a new level of existence. But, mine's just an opinion. I can't exactly back it up with anything besides opinions upon opinions of facts. Everything gets filtered before it comes out - it gets colored in my own personal hue - in this case I suppose it would be tinted an aqua-blue hue, but that's neither here nor there.SharPhoe said:Ah, those are the words I wanted to hear. Yes, yes, whatever works for you.feather240 said:Well a blue car wouldn't be any better. Can I change the adjective instead?
It's like saying "Who's Ghandi?"Mr.Tea said:Not knowing Quentin Tarantino is a crime. A fucking crime. I have yet to see a good movie with someone. Ever (or at least, since my parents stopped being responsible for bringing me to movies). I always go alone either because I don't feel anyone would enjoy it like I do, and mainly because I like to see them in english, in which they're made, but here people speak french and listen to fucking dubs.
Dubs are an abomination.
Alas poor taste I knew it well.nrp44 said:So I have to ask you, have you had similar experiences, what do you think about the future of pop culture and how do you feel about the culture of teens today?
the day Bay movies are generally accepted as good is the date of the apocalypsetellmeimaninja said:Dear god I hope they do. I think Michael Bay is an example of what happens if they don't. He actually seems to legitimately believe that his movies are good.Godavari said:I don't like all of these "the next generation sucks so life will suck when they get old" arguments. I couldn't agree more about dubs. I don't speak Spanish but Pan's Labyrinth is one of my favorite movies. What do I do? Seek out a dub? Fuck no! I turn on subtitles so I can listen to the actors do what they originally did and watch the movie the director originally envisioned.Mr.Tea said:Not knowing Quentin Tarantino is a crime.
