Game Breaking Glitches

Howdy, escapists.

I was playing Fallout 3 the other day, and I ran into something which really made my blood boil. Now usually I love this game, but lordy is it glitchy. For me, it crashes pretty often. Now I was playing a new-ish game, and I was a relatively low level. I had just nuked megaton, and forgot to receive the key to my new room. When I got back to the balcony, everyone was hostile. Worse still, I had saved as I came through the door. Now I'm too low a level to kill all the guards, and I can't reload a save from before it fucked up.

So, have any of you run into glitches that have prevented you from progressing, or even just really irritating glitches?

Once on FFXII I'd got to the Tomb of Raithwell, which is a good way through, and upon loading the save up all my characters had a permanent silence on them and it couldn't be removed. This meant I had to restart the game over again.

This actually happened to me too. It seems to happen if you step out of a city into the world map, and immediately try and save while the world map is "still loading." if you step out of a city and wait a few seconds for it the world map to load all the way and for everything to return to normal color (instead of darkened) then it should stop doing that.

Hah, just yesterday, I was playing Hardcore SD, and saw someone, on my team mind you, doing just that, way the fuck out from all the action, just hopping over a barricade and getting a single care package.
I got on the minigun on said block, and said to my pal next to me, "I'mma kill this glitching SOB." Hee said "Dude, he's on your team. You ca-"
I had rev'd the chaingun and mowed the ****** down.
"I can."
He then respawned, came back, kept doing it.
So I knifed the fuckstick.

OT: In FO3, in The Pitt, I can't get to some of the Ingots because, when I cross the roof they are on, it turns to nothing and I fall through to my sad death.

Golden Sun 2 if Piers has the lash stone when you get to Lemuria and he runs off to the grave yard. He doesn't give it back and you need the lash stone while hes in the cemetery. So if for some reason you save the game while he is still in the cemetery you have to reset the game.

When I first played through Oblivion the game glitched and made me make a new character after 80+ hours. It was the very last, or close to last, mission on the main quest. I was locked in a room and a bad guy or something was supposed to come through one of the doors, and I was to kill him/her and then exit the room through the door that the baddie came through. Well, the bad guy never came and the door remained locked. I didn't have any saves other than that one, so I was stuck in that fucking room forever D:

So annoying.

i already figured out a way to ensure it never happens but thats not how it happens to me. I mean, the last time it happened i was on disc 2 inside that big ice cave

I was playing Tiger Woods 08 recently and had started a new career as a custom golfer,I was struggling to develop him from a rookie to a pro (even though i'm not too bad at the game) so I persevered,i finished my 6 or 7th tournament and lo and behold I magicaly become a Legend, all my stats jumped from mid 20s to over 100 each.I'd say that was a game breaking glitch cos it made everything too damn easy after that

Star Trek online. It's quite buggy at the moment. The most annoying of said bugs being that a a sometimes during space combat you or an enemy will get stuck on something and you won't be able to shoot at him, but he'll still be shooting at you.

While I'm at it, shall I mention that you can make the Half life series unfinishable if you give yourself the gravity gun before the NPCs give it to you?

You equipped that item which puts your MP to 0 while it's equipped didn't you?

OT: Quake 2 and it's expansions. From what I've read the latest patch changed something in the game, so when loading a saved game it'll give you a: 'function pointers have moved' error. Making it impossible to continue that save. It also happens while loading a new level. >.>
