I know what you mean especially as fallout 3 and assassins creed 2 as examples but i feel generally a narratives focus is to make the journey feel memorable and the climax feel like both an expression and justification of that journey. You know what i mean? Maybe i should edit my first post.Casual Shinji said:It depends on the game.
With certain games like, Fallout 3 ans AC2, it was really about the journey you took rather than the actual destination. So even if those endings were lackluster, I still loved the games themselves.
But ending in GoW3 felt like a deflated beach ball.
im pretty sure I convinced that super mutant that you rescue to go in and do it for me. I just hope im remembering it right.Machines said:Fallout 3 prior to Broken Steel was terrible, although it would have been nice of Broken Steel to have an ending.
I disliked Halo 2's and 3's. The former because of the cliffhanger and the latter because it basically set up for another game as if nothing ever happened.
Definitely, especially as they didn't even make a damn third one.beholdmycape said:KOTOR 2
The issue was with the lack of logic at the end. There are two companions in the game who could have went into the room without being killed but they refuse to for no other reason than "It is not my destiny to do so".CokeColaForTheWIn said:I thought the ending to fallout 3 was decent, it had to end some how didn't it?
Were those two companions not in the game then it would have been OK.
I don't really care for the endings in open-world games since the general consensus is that they almost always disappoint. Aslong as they've given me a great free-roaming experience, the ending doesn't matter to me.Demons_Bane said:I know what you mean especially as fallout 3 and assassins creed 2 as examples but i feel generally a narratives focus is to make the journey feel memorable and the climax feel like both an expression and justification of that journey. With you on Halo 3, kinda felt like all that work was for nothing.Machines said:I disliked Halo 2's and 3's. The former because of the cliffhanger and the latter because it basically set up for another game as if nothing ever happened.
Because I knew somebody just would.MiracleOfSound said:[small]hehe.. disappointing climaxes.. snigger[/small]
I agree. Especially after I fought like hell to get to that damn chopper, it pisses me off to see the lack of a truly epic climax.TerribleAssassin said:Mirrors Edge
Predictable shit
But that was probably the best one-shot kill ever. Still very lacking in the ending and much of the story line if you didn't do extra quests or hunt for the keys.Chapper said:I can't believe Fable 2 hasn't been mentioned yet.
That's probably the best anti-climax ever conceived.
If it were 30 minutes more longer, it would be nice.TerribleAssassin said:Mirrors Edge
