1) I agree. That being said, Donkey Kong Country Returns is a good example of Nintendo using motion controls in a way that isn't terrible. You basically play DKCR like you would play any given NES game after all except for the odd shake of the wii-mote to...I think ground pound, I don't remember. Skyward Sword was just God Awful and I don't even know about Twilight Princess because I had the presence of mind to purchase my copy on the Gamecube
2) I dislike this: Even if you beat a level but say, forgot to grab all three Star Coins in NSMB(insert number or letter) and find yourself dying more often than you grab the coin you still get the box that activates the super guide. It's the equivalent of playing a game at your friend's house and after you die once or twice, said friend tries to wrench the controller from you so s/he can "show you how it's done" and that just annoys me to no end.
Point 1. Yeah, DKCR wasn't that bad. It was challenging but rightfully challenging. The controllers were easy to handle so if you lost, it was your own damn fault. But with games like Skyward Sword...I mean, I love the story in that game, the music, the characters, the color palette, but the controllers are not very accurate.
See, the game is reaaaaally easy, actually. Remove the Wiimote and replace it with a classic controller and the game is just painfully easy compared to other Zelda games. I suppose that's fine. Doesn't do it for me but okay. But then the game isn't rightfully challenging. The game is challenging because of the time it takes you to master the motion commands and stuff. It's as if someone asks me to play Dora the Explorer Winterland or whatever with my hands tied behind my back and only using my tongue. Of course playing the game is gonna be challenging!
Point 2. The thing I hate about Nintendo is how they're specifically targeting their products towards children and families and NSMB is living proof of it. But fine, I guess I can ignore it; maybe the game wasn't targeted towards someone like me or whatever. It's rated E and stuff. But games like God of War, Dragon Age, Catherine...they're rated M! Give your audience more credit than that.
Oh, and one more I want to add. If you're gonna add multiplayer to a game, make sure it doesn't deprive you of another half of the game. In other words, if I decide to play by myself, I want to know I'm missing a side story or a whole new different campaign. Or if you are gonna do that, at least don't charge for Online Passes (Right, Far Cry 3?). I know that's the point; buy the game new and you get access to both parts of the game for free. buy it used and suffer. But...eh, I'm just being nitpicky again, i guess.
