Okay, stay with me. It's a combination of GOW II and Star Wars Battlefront (FPS). You're a super-soldier in the first level and you promote a rookie to Sergeant just before you get sniped. You then play the rest of the game as the rookie working your way up to the super-soldier status in a world-wide war bridging on nuclear, and ONLY YOU CAN STOP IT BY ASSASSINATING THE EVIL DICTATOR!!!!

I should probably get one of those Gas accounts someday, 5 bucks is quite a price

I've always wanted to design a game where you played as the villain and won. Like a Terminator® game where you played as Skynet? going back in time and trying to kill the Conners. I don't know, I've just always wanted to play on the opposite side of the moral compass. :)

Give up, originality is worth nothing in gaming, didn't you know? Now cut out the rookie and you've got a best-seller.

Whoa, forgot one. Basically a game like Eternal Darkness but far more creepier and psychological, with false leads and images that disappear once off screen.

Imagine this...

You're a member of a T.A.P.S. type ghost hunter company, and you know that everything you're doing is bullshit, the only people that want your services are crazies or people wanting a cheap alternative to theater.

You get a pretty standard call to come to a fairly big house notorious for it's reputation as a haunted house. You and the team go in, and run through the motions, not finding anything too out of the ordinary. Suddenly you realize that the house is a bit bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. You take a turn down one hallway and walk slowly down. The camera is fixed behind you as you walk, and on either side the small and subtle images you see through the window of the outside city get more and more demonic and farther from reality the deeper into the hallway you get. Through the walkie-taklie on your hip you hear the rest of the team's chatting with each other, fading along with the bulb from your flash light. You get worried and turn around, but find that you're not getting any closer to where you came from, passing the same door over and over. Finally your light flickers off, but then shines brighter than ever. You freak out and grab your walkie talkie, trying every channel, but no response. You keep yelling into the mic and hear the sound of your own voice coming from behind a door. You cautiously open the door and find a single table with the walkie-talkies of the rest of your team lined up in a row facing you, but your team is no where to be seen. A slip of paper is laying there as well, and when you pick it up their's no writing. But slowly, the paper looks as if something is bleeding through on the other side. Turning it around you see nothing, but when looking back at the first side you notice paper itself is bleeding. Soon the blood on the paper forms a word, and it's your name. You gasp and the paper goes up in flames like a piece of flash paper. You run out of the door to the room, only to find that you've entered the house through the front door by doing so. You run back through the front door and end up in exactly the same place.

You can't leave.

Throughout the game you'll start seeing things. Starting slow with stuff like laser pointers on the wall, or doorknobs that will turn on their own. But soon you'll start seeing visions of spirits, or even your own death. One idea I had was having a vision of yourself running in the opposite direction down a hallway with the zombified members of your team chasing you down to feed. You even have the option of following to see yourself get eaten, and then having the visions give chase to you until you can outrun them.

Obviously a sanity base gameplay system, but no HUD, just on how your character reacts to things. You pretty much have to keep your character from killing themselves in insanity.

BTW if this game gets made I'll know and I'll be pissed

Tygerfire, that sounds really neat. And if you don't want the game made, don't post something like that. Anyone could very easily adapt the idea so that it's still the same deal, but far enough away that they don't get into any legal troubles. Seeing as you don't have any copyrights or anything on the idea either, you're screwed, basically. If the game gets made and you get something out of it, that's going to be solely on the goodwill of the creators.

That said, when my schedule clears up (probably not for a few years), I'd love to talk about the idea closer. It seems like something that'd fit nicely with the rest of my games.

I once messed around with RPG Maker 2000 but then my harddrive crashed :(
I was thinking about doing some kind of Final Fantasy V-like job system.
but because of the 'Crash' the whole project collapsed

ive been doing this since i was 5 so ive had a lot but right now there are 3 main ones but i will only say one here it goes...

in zeitgeist (german for sprit of the times) you play the ceo of a massive company who was nearly assassinated 30 years ago and since then has been in a coma but for a never explained reason you have the power to enter the minds of those around you and take their thoughts feelings eg change memories make them go crazy depress them into suicide or make them hate your emermies so they murder them etc. so by doing this you must regain control of the city destroy those who want to stop you controlling the minds of others and become a dictator.

please comment with suggestions or questions

P.S. he is still in the coma while this is all happening, he never gets out of it.

I can tell you wrote it off the top of your head. Feels like you just needed an ending real quick, so you get abducted by some aliens. Goes against the whole "what if the 1st world war never ended?" thing. That's the impression I got from the post anyways.
I think the Alien idea in my point of view wasn't really to make the story Sci-Fi but as to reflect on war itself. I really like the idea of humanity being judged by their choices throughout a long terrible war, but i wouldn't use aliens to implement it.[/quote]

Maybe he could use the time skips to see the futures reaction to the horrendous war crimes the player committed?

That idea is actually an old PS2 game.

Second post! I'm racking up.

I've had this idea for quite some time. The story's quite epic, though if I post it I'll never be able to profit from it sometime :p

The actual game would be a third-person shooter, like Gears of War. Except there's no guns, but powers. Like in Heroes, Sylar would lift his hand in front of him and use TK, it would be like that. There would be a variety of abilities, like PK, thought-waves, stassis, and whatever else I can think of.

There would also be a fighting system, for when an enemy comes up close. The right analog would control the right hand, left analog the left. Dodging would be a QTE, changing the enemy you're facing is through RB and LB.

Expect at your nearest retail store around 2027.

I'm writing up the story for mine right now, and I have to say, it's pretty good. I don't know what anyone else will think though.

It's a 3rd person combat/adventure game, set on a different planet, only no guns, just swords. And your character is psychic.

That's all I'm going to say.

And it's very bloody and weird, like an anime almost.

Like Assassin's Creed, only a lot better and more epic. And you actually give a shit about your main character.

I'm thinking of a game not unlike World War Zero: Ironstorm.
Quite simply what if a war, similar to the first world war, never ended.

As time goes by war changes, as do the tools and tactics, and the player is never sure when their understanding of how things work will have to evolve. Time skips are used to allow significant advances to be introduced to the player but they always play as a descendant of either the original protagonist or another character they encountered to maintain a familiar feel.

This is not a game to be played, but experienced; it would be unafraid to leave the player facing insurmountable odds or trapped in some quasi-futuristic foxhole for potentially minutes as bizarre artillery rages overhead. Most importantly there would be a mode that meant that any death for the player ended their tenure in that period; death would be permanent and the story would adjust accordingly. Thus the player witnesses the descent of mankind into absolute barbarism despite all the "advanced", weaponry at his disposal through the degeneration of language, custom and appearance.

When the conclusion appears to have been reached, the final assault upon your enemy's headquarters, the player would be abducted by generic aliens and forced to face trial as a representative of humanity in an equivalent of the Hague's war crimes court.
The player would be allowed to admit guilt for his race's barbarism or defiantly claim innocence; depending on the choice made the game would have one of two endings.

Guilt: The beings berate the main character, unable to understand how his race could destroy themselves while still comprehending the impact of their actions. Returned to a post-apocalyptic wasteland not unlike the moonscapes of the battlefields of world war one the player finds himself alone with nothing but a pistol and a single round. Eyes flooding with tears the player is shown a constant stream of images of all the killing he has done as every playable character until you personally pull the trigger.

Innocence: The beings are disappointed but not surprised. Mankind is stricken from the records of intelligent life, nothing but beasts that thought they were gods. The player is returned to the game the very instant they left and personally executes the entire enemy command even as they surrender. The "victors", celebrate, the war is won. Cue patriotic speeches from your compatriots about rebuilding civilisation anew and the importance of peace.
The camera draws back from the scene as mournful music plays gradually drawing back showing the remains of the shattered Earth on a greater scale until the planet itself is shown from space, its very surface blackened and charred by the ravages of war.
The Earth fades to black.
Another gunshot rings out - followed by a scream, more join.
Silence.
That's just cool.

Here's my idea. An RTS set after a zombie apocalypse you have a group of survivors and a small defendable building zombies come in waves. But around the map there are survivors which you can go pick up to help your team you can get use the vehicles around the map to help get around eventually a timer starts or you do a certain thing maybe that triggers a huge wave of zombies that keeps coming maybe with different types of zombie (Like left 4 dead). Resources you could send salvage teams to malls or shopping stores for weapons and food to pass the "mission" you have to survive a set amount of time you pass when you last that long but you can play after that time to see how long you'd lastbut if you fail before the timer you have to start again. (Idea in progress.)

your a kid in a town and it would be modeled after the town i live in now, and as a kid you are recruited by a super awesome ninja squad people, and you grow up learning ninja stuff and such, and when you become an adult you finally join the order and are sent on a task to stop the placing of a nuke in boston(it will be an exact copy of boston) you will be able to platform on roofs and run on walls and stab civilians. and steal shit and get new katanas knives and possibly guns. and its an rpg so you would level up abilities and stealth would be a major feature, you would sneak into houses to steal things for cash and uncover the secret placing of the nuke, then some epic explosions with stuff i haven't thought of

Why use your hands when you can just control his mind and make him punch himself in the face?
Sounds pretty cool though.
