Legacy of Kain (heard we are getting a remake though could be good or bad)
Advent Rising (argg so much potential)
Alpha Protocol (a good game lacking polish)
Dino Crisis (come on Zombies suck, give us Dinosaurs. I still remember being terrified of raptors)
Ur Quan Masters (this game scratches an itch I always seem to have)

So what game series would you like to see funded/continued via Kickstarter (even if it wasn't actually possible because of IP hell) ?

I don't really support this Kickstarter trend that Double Fine started, but I'd like to see Ace Attorney Investigations 2 localized in the US, though. It'd be continuing a series...in the US.

I mean, how much could that cost? The game is basically made.

lol, that was the first one to come to mind
Ditto...it's been far too long since I've heard Kane cry out "VAE VICTIS!" as he impales a filthy Saraphin knight. Think that's what they were, The Saraphin, god it's been way too long since I've played a LoK game.

I'm not a huge fan of the whole kickstarter thing either, if Publishing companies were truly in touch with their target audiences then we wouldn't need kickstarter or such like them but lets face it. The Publishers don't know best these days, just look at what EA and Activision have done.

I've only supported 1 kickstarter project and that was a book series that I wanted to see continue.

This. I even suggested that to them about 8 months ago. I got back what I can only assume was a slightly altered form letter about how they can't use Kickstarter for something like that because of legal reasons.

But to address the point here, I'd love to see that cancelled Batman Steampunk game get brought back into production.

Dungeon Keeper 3

I would like Tim Schafer to make it. I think that Doublefine would do well with a non-traditional RTS with a sense of humour.

Unfortunately the name was sold to a no-name Chinese developer :C
Dungeon Keeper was great.

I wonder if publishers will kind of get in on this whole kick starter thing, such as if X reaches Y amount then we will fund the rest of the game.

The publisher than realizes there is a demand for the game and the risk is reduced.

Games series I would like to see continued? ROCK AND ROLL RACING 3! God damn did I love playing rock and roll racing 2: Red Asphalt! With nightmare and bombback ... good times, good times.

I just thought of a new one myself. Jet Motto, I had so much fun playing that back in the day.

I actually thought about this a bit, if I was a publisher (which I'm not) I'd give out loyalty points or something similar with each purchase, a simple code you use to log into the companies site and put it in to redeem these points. The points themselves can't be used to buy anything but they give you a say in the decision making process for what games next to publish.

You can take these points and spend them on a particularly franchise or series/new IP and once it gets to a certain point or gets so many a month for several months (IE interest in a title is high) the new game gets made. If it doesn't reach its goal in a three or four months then you have the option of reascending your points and putting them towards a different IP.

This could be great or terrible. We could see a million COD games come out or something like that and few new games because people like their favorite franchises. So I'd make it so that each new game in a series has a higher point requirement and new franchises or really old ones require fewer points.

I'd like to see Laser Squad Nemesis 2, with a three pronged singleplayer campaign. Only if Julian Gollop does it though.

Rise of Nations/Legends anybody?
Barring that, I'd like to see Grim Dawn get a kickstarter. Crate Entertainment are trying hard, but it can't be easy when nobody's ever heard of them.

I'm not sure who keeps the rights to it now, but I'd definitely love to see some System Shock 3 happening in the near future. Cross the game with something from Bioshock (like SHODAN using a restored part of Rapture for... whatever, even if it didn't make sense it would be awesome. Yeah this is wanky), and I'll pee my pants in excitement.

I'm also glad to se I'm not the only one who thinks Advent Rising was not utter shit. Just because it probably never was.

EDIT - forgot to say, but "My kingdom for a new Carmageddon" too.

EDIT 2 - damn, my brain is sluggish tonight. Anachronox 2, anyone? I think it will probably happen too, seeing how much Tom Hall wants to continue and/or expand it. Get to it, Tom!

Age of Empires. It was a travesty that Ensemble Studios were shut down; they made some damn fine RTSes back in the day. Also, while not quite the same, I'd love to see a localisation of that Phoenix Wright/Professor Layton crossover game, and Monster Hunter Portable 3.

While I'm in the Land Of Unreasonable Requests, an HD remake of the original Spyro the Dragon games would be nice as well.

Legacy of Kain can't continue because Tony Jay passed away. There's really no one that can replace him as the Elder God.

I would like to see the original Might and Magic and Heroes of Might and Magic series continue with Kickstarter.

Oni. The first game was far from perfect, but I still really enjoyed it and it was a great starting off point for a series. I'd love to see an Oni 2.

Also, Valkyria Chronicles on PS3. I know it has a sequel on the PSP (maybe 2 now?), but that doesn't count. I don't have a PSP. I don't like handheld gaming. I want a sequel on my console of choice, or on PC.

And of course, a new Freespace (or any other space shooter by Volition, because I think the licecnce is a bit of a problem) or X-Wing/TIE Fighter game.
