For me its Crysis. Everybody I know (with some brains that is) say that its just pretty graphics. To me it was a really good shooter and with a side dish of great graphics. The nanosuit and the free exploration (although that was ruined after the aliens arrived) were so much fun. It was definitely not just a generic shooter.

Finally someone who agrees with me. I have the same opinion about the game yet people constantly flame how much it sucks ass. Also Assassins Creed, everyone seems to hate it but I love it, its still one of my favourites

Fable. Red Steel (when they aren't forcing me into sword combat). Phantom Hourglass. Guild Wars. I am sure there is a much longer list, but these were the ones at the top of my head.

Halo 2. Even Halo Fanboys seem to hate it.

X3: Reunion, but only because it lacks any form of multiplayer, which was a minor let down for me but since it's the most modern space sim type game out there I still play it a lot in fall\winter.

Don't worry 'bout it, a lot of people here are quick to crucify the new guy without even explaining things to him. The search bar quip refers to checking to see if the thread topic has been done recently. But your's was fine, so don't sweat it.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl

O.K. Ive been a smash fan for 12 years and i have to say Brawl sucks comparatively they took out comboing, L-canceling and made Teching damn near impossible, and worst of all Meta-Knight is so fucking overpowered you have to play him if you want to play competetively because nobody else will plsy snybody else

Bionic Commando (the new one, for 360 and PS3). The story may have been complete crap, but it was one of the more enjoyable games I've played this year.

Also, OP, I totally agree with you on Hotel Dusk. The story was captivating, and when I found out THE big secret (involving Dunning), it gave me a mix of emotions I haven't felt in any other game.

Yeah love Halo too, I don't think that comes as much of a surprise. But I gotta say the hate for Halo while still present is getting lesser as time goes by or at least the people who dislike Halo are being nice about it. So there is a bright side.

I actually really liked Dead Space, I think it would have done really well except for that it was a small game released alongside a lot of bigger high profile titles so it got swamped.
