The new Alone in The Dark. For some reason I loved it yet everyone I know hated it. Same with Ace Combat 6.

some people have put some pretty popular or well regarded games in this thread.
I have a softspot for Space Empires Deluxe, it's the poor man's Galatic Civilizations.

And looking at the forums I'm one of the few people who seem to be still enjoying Warhammer: Age of Reckoning after the 1.3b patch

Chromehounds, man that was a fun game, until the designers thought it would be a fun idea to make all who want to continue to be good Hound creators had to pay for extra parts and weapons. And then the online mode sort of died...but during the first week of its launch, I think I slept maybe 4 or 5 hours.

Crysis, Fable(I, not II) and Black and White 2.
I know that there is a hell of a lot of Peter Molyneux bashing on this forum (spear headed by our good friend from ZP) but both Fable and Black and White were well recieved by gamers and critics. They might not have been genre defining milestones but they definately do not fall into the catergory of a game that "everybody hates".

(and the same goes for Crysis just without the bit about Peter Molyneux)

Railroad Tycoon Platinum that's only hated amongst my mates

Victoria: Empire Under the Sun.
Apart from the few Paradox fans out there not even the strategy game reviewers liked that one!

Mirrors Edge. The enemy's and level design could be a tad annoying at times, but once you got running, the fluidity made for a brilliant experience.

There's probably no game that's hated by everybody. From what I've read and heard, Black and White 2 wasn't recieved too well by fans and most comments you can find on the web are negative about it(by gamers, not critics). Fable...OK, it is kind of popular, but it gets a lot of hate.

I like HD:R215 too, so you're not alone. =]

As for me, FFX-2 seems to gain a harsh audience. I don't know a single person besides me who likes it. I personally love the game, I like how it goes back to the roots of having jobs and skills that have to be acquired through AP, and plus, it's got a good storyline and fun minigames (even if they did murder Blitzball). My only complaint is that it's too short.

Sure not everyone hates any game (hell even the Leisure suit Larry Games made sequels)

Black and White 2 was well recieved (IGN 8.8, Gamespy 7.8, PC Gamer 83%, 8.2 Gamespot).

EDIT: failed to read your bit about fans not Critics sorry, ignore last bit.

p.s Age of Sail 2, buggy, incorrectly spelt briefings, no tutorial at all, but still awesome!

Age of Empires 3. I always loved that game, but so many seem to hate it in favour for the second one.
