Usually anyone who likes FF7 doesn't like FF9 which is my favourite.
It does seem to be like that actually. People who played 7 first were really into the more steampunk style of that game, as was FF8, and when 9 was more of a tribute to the games Pre-7, adopting a more whimsical and fantastic aproach, it wasnt met with alot of enthusiasm and welcome... In addition to coming out pretty close to the PS2 and FF10, I sometimes think 9 gets overshadowed. I could be partially biased though, since 9 was my first Final Fantasy game and RPG.

Mine would be the "Dynasty Warriors" series, because in essance they're terrible games and I understand that, but I love 'em!
Also "Earth Defence Force" for the 360, haven't really heard many opinions on it, but it's a fun quirky game that should've got more attention.

well i am with you on the Dynasty Warriors, i will be a forever undying fan of the series and all series from Koei, every single one, this gives me an idea for a thread, game companies we like that every one else hates or don't know much of.

Elite Beat Agents, not that the game industry hates it but whenever I'm on the way to school and I play it on the bus I have some friends who just watch me and say "What is it?", "How do you play it?" and several other question and they always end by "What's so good about it?". It's kinda hard to say. Elite Beat Agents is just the type of game where you have to play to understand it's brilliant.

In paper it sounds boring and stupid. Press circles at the right time while listening to the song and see some hilarious comic drafts after each segments. Whenever I give them a try they suck really bad and end up saying "This game sucks. Guitar Hero is way better." and it's kinda weird, because that's exactly what I said to myself when I first played it at a eb-games shop. The experience was "meh" but when my brother bought it I decided to try it out for once and eventually I became a sick addict to it.

Two Worlds :) so addictive.

Sim Copter. An old one but I had a lot of fun with it and my mates thought I was weird.

Civilian flight sims like Microsoft's FSX and Laminar's X-Plane, with SquawkBox live ATC online.

Text-based adventures (aka. interactive fiction, but that makes them sound like non-games)

Spore. None one seems to like that but me.
Man, bought Spore for my wife, and she played it for maybe two hours, making friends with everyone and eating fruit. Once she went to bed, I started playing it. She never bothered to pick it up again, but I've singlehandedly erradicated countless species from existance in the galaxy!

I don't know if people enjoy Shadow of the Colossus but I love that game. I'd don't know if it's just the repetativeness of scaling a giant and stabbing them, but it's awesome. Though it would be easier with an RPG or Rocket Launcher.

dude, wrong game to be labeling an "Everyone else hates" game, especially around these parts. From what I've seen, there are two groups regarding Shadows. People who like/love it, and people who haven't played it. There is a small third group I call "people who's opinions I don't care about," but they are a silent minority.

Yeah same here, my friend hates sonic, and apparently so does Yahtzee. Sonic Adventure 2 was fun on Dreamcast, but later versions seemed to lack what it used to be.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. Yes the GBA one! I played that and KH2, I think both are fun, but KH2's fighting is too simple to me. I will be hunted down for this statement because people hate the card system. I claim that KH2 is too easy because you only ever need the attack and reaction commands. Magic and Drives are extra and I never see anyone else use magic unless they want some mini-game record, while Drives are massively fun but almost unnecessary. (I still want to play KH1!)

Edit: And for the record, I made very good use of the cards. Only took a bit of getting used to at the start.

I don't know if this counts as a game everybody hates, so much as it is embarrassing to admit... but, Spongbob Squarpants: Battle for Bikini Bottom. I think that it was an excellent performer and that the gameplay makes up for the fact that is a Spongbob game.

Also, 500th Post! WHOOOOOOOOOO!

My favorite game, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, was a game I absolutely have to pick for this topic because it had a very steep difficulty curve and no save option.
