Also, come to think of it, the other two presenters don't really fit in. Yahtzee is as cutting, cynical and hilarious as ever but the other two tended to irritate me.
Even beyond not looking natural, Yahtzee resembles an artificial lifeform at times in this pilot.....There were times when I wondered if he were made out of plastic (I guess it's his expressions, or lack thereof, in addition to the look of his skin......).thebigtw said:

I have to agree that the jokes did run their course, the Duke Nukem thing was ok, the Metal gear skit got old. The Master Chief thing was ok too. I think that if they script it better and speak over eachother less, it can turn into a great show. At the moment its more suited to being a podcast where they just discuss stuff.

I think thats just Yahtzee's look. The whole stone faced, "don't mess with me I'm angry" look is just his thing, and it works....maybe im just a bright eyed fan who wouldn't have him any other way but thats just me.

It's interesting to actually see the guy behind the awesome reviews.
But I'd say that this is just not his... part. The fast-speaking character fits him better.
The Duke Nukem-Part was cool, though.

I don't know what to make of this. Matt and Yug seem alright, but Yahtzee seems unnecessarily sarcastic and cold (in the unrehearsed couch scenes). In his own videos, he sounds excited and into it most of the time. His lack of enthusiasm in the show is somewhat of a letdown. But at least he's consistent in his views.
You have to remember that it's a pilot. Technically, that's episode zero. If sponsors hop on board, the budget would presumably increase, and there would be a lot more polish and a lot of fine tuning done to improve it.

Hmm. Well it's only a pilot, and the uncomfortable-ness of Yahtzee will be reduced the longer he spends in front of the camera. I think most of the bad parts can be put down to the presenters being camera shy as a matter of fact. Looking forward to a proper episode, let's hope it gets commissioned.
Yahtzee should stick to what he's good at: tearing new assholes into games that richly deserve it. the show was ok, but not great. i thought the best segment was Yahtzee reminiscing about adventure games... and the worst part was the lame skits...
Well that was a waste of 28 minutes that I will never get back. Made me smile around twice, the humour was poor and also seemed very "american" if you will pardon the saying. Plus the only thing I learned was there is a game coming out "Edge of twilight" which looked intresting.
On ballance I enjoyed it. None of the three lads got on my nerves, and for ANY podcast, that's half the battle won.
But, look...

It's obvious to everyone, so try to be more comfortable with it.

I can't watch the thing all the way through in one go, because everytime you look directly to camera, I think you want to fight me. ME. PERSONALLY.

Exactly my thought. Seeing as it is a pilot, there is a lot of fine-tuning left to do, and while Yahtzee does seem a bit uncomfortable I think that'll pass as the show gains some speed and he gets more experience in a non-animated format.Maet said:

I dislike that some of the skits were repeated, like the MGS and Duke Nukem thing. That said, I found the Master Chief thing funny the entire time. It looks like it'll be good, I'll keep an eye out.
