GameInformer has made a list of the things they believe will happen in 2011. One of them is that Half-Life 3 will finally be revealed. Now some might think that's only a random guess but GI has had a good relation with Valve, they revealed Portal 2 and Dota 2 for example, or they said, that in 2010 we wouldn't hear anything about the next Half-Life game, before Portal 2 was announced.
Whether this is now true or not is up to you but it's the biggest evidence for the next Half-Life game we've had in a while, since the guys from Valve don't really want to talk about it at the moment.
What's also noteworthy, is that they refer to the sequel as being 'Half-Life 3' instead of 'Episode 3'.

Here's the link to the GI article [http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/12/31/what-s-ahead-game-informer-s-2011-predictions.aspx].

I don't think it will happen. I predict Valve will be occupied with Portal 2 for the first half of the year, and then Dota will be delayed into 2012.

How awesome would it be if Valve just sprung another "box" on the gaming world. HL3, HL2:EP3, and Portal 2 all in one epic package?

Scary thing is, Valve would not be above doing that...

Valve releasing 3 unreleased games in one box for 50$? Never gonna happen. When have they ever done that. unless there all short games itd never happen. Valve is a buisness to. People tend to forget that.

I think it's just logic, really. If they postpone this another year, I foresee a rebellion occurring, ending with an reenactment of the French Revolution with Gabe Newell replacing King Louis XVI.

I'll believe it when it happens.

As it stands, I feel they'll release Portal 3 and two more Left 4 Deads before we see anymore of Gordan Freeman.

I never said anything about it being a $50 price point. A lower than $150 would be nice, but I would still pay that $150.

Maybe let us know the release date then, but I highly doubt I'll get my hands on it within the year.

I think they'll have a big Half Life announcement or finally release episode 3 in 2011, but if the big event is Half Life 3, I seriously doubt it will be anything other than an announcement.

if they are right about most of these, someone is leaking them info. I mean like the Cod one, theres no way you can "Guess" that since that seems too much like a gamble that Activision would be against

Normally I would call them out, namely the rest of the article being complete BS, seriously PSP2 getting success with strong third party support, Wii HD (Unless Nintendo finds a way to make it cost less then a Wii, I don't see it happening until we hear more about the competition, and even then it's doubtful) , but Half-Life 3 doesn't really sound too far off from Valve, they've been a tad hush about it, dancing around it when possible, so they may have something big planned, will it exactly be Half-Life 3, dunno, it could be some grand packaging of all that is half-life material in a head crab shaped carrying case (which would not surprise me) or the announcement of some sort of half-life film, but something big, yeah I could see coming..though a announcement of Episode 3 would be pretty big news all considered.

Can't. The world would be destroyed because Valve messed with the Natural Order. Go look up what happens when Mandy finally smiles in "Billy and Mandy". Same thing.

I would love it if any of this were true, but with Valve (along with a growing number of other game companies) I'll believe it when the game is actually in my hands. Or better yet, in my system.

Yes, yes ... it will be announced later this year, then released in 2012.
The very day the world explodes because the Mayan calendar resets.
