sounds like a great cause, and a very easy fix.
Infinity Ward should just roll with it.

=) well actually that still makes 'greedy' not an entirely proper description (juvenile indeed)

yeah it wouldn't have been too much harder to create dedicated servers with extra anti-piracy measures created and latched on...taking away all of them would the somewhat lazier approach if anything (not that I really mind because I don't use the PC as my primary platform...)
or unless you really love custom mods and all that fun fun stuff
yes the mods were awesome. Plus there was a competitive scene thanks to the mods. Now? all of it is no more :p Those guys are sellouts than if not greedy

I'm a colorblind gamer, and I definitely signed this petition. I always play free-for-all on this game because of the color problems I have in team games. I love playing Team Deathmatch, but I'm never able to because I always wait that extra second to make sure the person I'm shooting isn't on my team. And then I get the lowest score. A colorblind friendly MW2 would be awesome.

wait, something good in petition form to a game developer, this can't be. the server petition of 09, the bans of 08 and 09, none of them where for a good cause, yet this is? TO THE SHELTERS! RUN, RUNNNNNNNN!

but no, this is good and I will sign it. nice to know someone is lending a hand to people that need a little help with games.

Caring Hands

Will you lend a caring hand
To shelter those who need it

Only have to sign your name
Don't even have to read it

Would you help? No?
How 'bout you?

yeah well, I've never been a fan of mods, and my closer PC gamer friends (I might've mentioned this) actually dislike the flow of them
buttt nothing wrong with them really
so in the end, the reason why I don't really think IW are all that bad is because I'm primarily one of them stinkin' console gamers, eh?

please no ><

haha I mean, I'm still going "aaah" about the DLCs for Asassin's Creed II =(

Lol funny

Anyone ever see the videos of AIMBOTS?
So, you have dramatic lightning, shadows, cover, the ability to sneak up and get the frag.

And what's to stop every other gamer who is "NOT" color blind turning this off to ambush people in shadows, not sure thats a friendly hell it's a big red box....go nuts.

Would have to be VERY selected in the servers. Cause if you ever saw America's army's aim bot videos....that's exactly how anyone would see it. Green box, red box, clear shot

This is an internet petition that might just actually work because it makes sense, something other internet petitions lack.
Yeeeah, I stopped reading right there. Seriously, who are you to say that the petitions didn't make sense? Hundreds of thousands of gamers thought that the other petitions made sense, so why does this one make more sense than them?

OT : While I see where they're coming from, it doesn't make much difference at all. You can still see the difference between red and green, and you can still make obvious notations like if they're on your HUD, if their name pops up or if they are behaving like they are on your team, or you recognise them.

The colours of people's names won't help the slightly harder things like finding people in ghillie suits in the grass, or just telling yellow/green apart much. It doesn't even make much sense on the minimap, since the red things are tiny dots, and your team are big arrows. You can see the difference without any colour difference.

Although I'll support this anyway, just because I'd like IW to do something to be nice to someone for a change and it's not like I'm set against this.

You know, I never really thought about this, and now I feel bad. Just when I thought the internet really was the most wretched hive of villainy around, something like this comes around to warm your heart.

It's a fairly noble cause for some, but its not like they HAVE to play the game. Like I hate when MW2 fanboys troll me for wanting ded servers.

Well in Australia, where the net is shit and in rural australia where the net is thrice as shit I pay for 800kbs speed, but only get 120kbps (thanks telstra) so MP isnt playable for me at all since its P2P.

It'd be better if game devs just listened to what ppl ask for, instead of telling them. While ded servers might not matter to many of the population, colour blindness options might not matter to a majority as well. I think any petition which allows a group to actually play the game they paid 110 dollars for is a noble cause.

Oh this will totally work.

Online petitions ALWAYS work.

Like ALWAYS.

Don't get me wrong, I think they should have color blind support, color blindness is quite common, and really creates a problem in situations like these, that's why it's a shame that the success probably for online petitions is somewhere around negative 8%

I'm one of the people this topic represents. I am missing red cones in my iris so i have trouble differentiating between reds and greens and yet I have no trouble playing MW2.
I'm unable to become a fighter pilot or an electrician, but I can play Modern Warfare 2 just fine.
Gotta love living life through video games then... We are all here for that, surely. But specifically to kill people over and over again? Thanks for the bumper sticker on the back of your car that immediately tells me I never ever want to have to have a conversation with you. Not in fear of losing an appendage, but as an act of mercy. I wouldn't want to confuse you so much that your head would start hurting and you'd have to go torture an animal or something.
Half the stuff you are talking about they never said in the post you quoted.

If I recall correctly, Modern Warfare had an option to let you pick an alternate colour scheme for the names floating over peoples heads: It became blue/green for friendly and orange for enemies. I used it.

I thought they already had a colourblind-friendly mode in every Call of Duty game (at least since 4) via the alternate name colours option? Or is this about an option to make everything more friendly to colourblind people?

Edit: Oh ha, person above me got there first. Must read replies properly.

I'm not colorblind, but at the very least I can help support the community of a game I play.

I am colour blind, and have signed the petition.

While by and large I do simply go by uniform, there are instances where doing that due to colorblindness is very difficult. (Darkened area's for example). While I don't find the game unplayable for team matches by any means, it's somewhat of an annoyance.

As for as the petition goes I would have preferred Red / Blue, (Both Primary colours, and none of the cones are related) but any change would be helpful.

That, my friend, is a bias.
Also, what is wrong with PtP? I understand that with dedicated servers you get to set the match to your liking, but you are still going to be playing with laggers and hackers, so its hardly different. I've PC gamed, so I would know. Dedicated servers changed the game in zero ways, so I am unconvinced.
I take it you've not played MW2, or just not many online fps's in general.

I've played MW2, and I have played dozens of other online FPSes. Infinitesimal adjustments to individual matches does not change the game. I've played games that use dedicated servers, and I prefer ones that don't.
I hardly see how customizing matches overturns the ability to simply pick up and play.
