Yea, that stereotype is complete BS. I don't know one single gamer who fits it at all.
For example, I'm 5'11", 195lbs of pure muscle, have a corporate job, and own a rental business. In addition to gaming, I work out 5 days a week, play Bass, rock climb, hike, camp, play paintball and ride motorcycles. So, as you can see, I own my own place, and you could never call me fat, nor lazy... although 90% of my girlfriends would argue that when it comes to housework
I'm a pretty serious gamer too, I don't only game on the PC and console, I've played just about every pen and paper RPG out there and only stopped because all my buddies who I played with moved away. Hell, I've owned just about every console that has come out since the atari 2600.
The only friend of mine who is both fat and lazy friend can barely be called a gamer. He does own a 360 but plays every single game on the easy setting and still gets his ass handed to him. My theory is that he is too lazy to challenge himself in anything, including gaming.
