Hm, actually very good idea. I just hope it won't sent a bad message to other devs -"hey, what if we screw ending like Bioware? Maybe we'll get cupcakes too!".
But yeah, great idea. The only problem is - they set the goal too low. $1000 accumulated in roughly 25 minutes and many were too late to participate. But there are talks about custom Marauder Shields grand cake in the future.

This sounds like a good idea for a protest to me. It lets Bioware know that people care about the ending while still being lighthearted and not making the protesters themselves sound like whining brats. This is the type of protests that need to be going on if we want people to view "gamers" in general as mature.

Cheeky, friendly, and ultimately well-meaning.

This is the kind of activism I will actually support.

I think this is actually a very clever way to make a point...but sending tasty baked goods isn't exactly twisting someone's arm. "Wait," says BioWare, "we're not sure we completely understand what you're saying, here. Another batch or two might help explain your point of view better."

OT: Is this some kind of reverse phsycology or something? Isn't the knee jerk reaction to "getting reward for action" is "do action again?" I don't get it.

400 cupcakes can not be divided evenly into 3 different colors.
402 can (read this over at GamesRadar, and they reported 402 were being sent, the green ones with an 'A' on them, the blue a 'B', and red a 'C').

Bah, seems like a waste of money IMO. I don't see this having any effect on anything whatsoever, but at least it'll make sure the employees at Bioware don't go home hungry.

It is a bit funny and clever though :>

"We get free cupcakes when we screw up?"

*Adds "Cock-up" to checklist of features for the next game*

This is what I fear.

How much longer are these people going to rage? I mean, yeah, I'm no fan of ME3's ending, but this is starting to get silly.

Love the retake movement. And to all the people going on about what people outside of our industry are going to think of this, I would hazard a guess that they really don't give a shit.

You have to admit Bioware has style. "You dont like those endings we gave you and are going to petition/boycott/whine to have them changed, fine have some free cupcakes then". I applaude you Bioware.

nah, their still pricks and its still a waste of money, I read enough pitiful whining on forum from these losers to make me despair about my species. Lets have some perspective, its only a game for christ sake, so the ending was unsatisfactory, so what. I've been there many times before LOST being a recent example. But I have a life, people who depend on me and i'm lucky enough to live in a society where I get enough to eat and have a roof over my head. Life is to short.
I like the way you subvert and cheapen your argument by falling on the tired old internet cliche of 'I have a life'.
I like how you have no counter argument and critisize the fact that he has a life :)

It seems to me that sending them cupcakes, even with a message is more a reward than a protest.
Exactly. It shows them how much the fanbase loves the amazing series they built, and how much it deserves a proper ending.

Cupcakes to Edmonton, Alberta. Hell you might as well have mailed them Bacon sandwhiches. I'm sure the boys at Bioware are giddy and could care less about what message your attempting to send them. Now they have 400 cupcakes to go with their Timmy's.
