RISE OF NATIONS. Seriously. Just update the graphics and remove a few of the issues (Late game basic infantry need to be cheaper to offset the fact that they are pretty useless.) and BAM, you have the worlds best RTS rebooted for a modern audience.
LET ME LOVE YOU!

Ahem. Sorry. I loved that game to bits.

OT: Since that was Ninja'd, Persona 1 and 2, preferably with a difficulty tone down. But I doubt it, ATLUS does get off on the frustrated tears of its fans after all.

Master of Orion 2. It wouldn't need alot of updating, just the graphics and a little more depth to some of the mechancics (diplomacy etc).
MOO2 looks fine.

What it could really use is a better AI, but for a game with that kind of complexity, a competent AI may be too much to hope for.

Vectorman. It was a side scrolling, platformer, shooter about a green robot garbage man made of floating balls spheres and you could turn into things. I owned it for Sega Genesis and it was one of my favorite games. They actually were going to make a squeal for last gen consoles but it devolved into basically a Halo clone and the project was scrapped

This thread is giving me nostalgia feels

Majora's Mask.

No question.

Seriously, it deserves it even more than Wind Waker. Tighten up the controls, polish the visuals, maybe even give us a higher-quality soundtrack.

I will give you all of my money.
Definitely. I first played the Wii virtual console version and I can say without a hint of irony that it was the best game I owned for the Wii of all time. OF ALL TIME!

Morrowind
Aren't there mods for Morrowind that completely overhaul the game's textures and everything so it looks like an HD game from this gen?

There are, but it's only a texture and environment update. The game needs an engine update to really smooth out animations and make it on par with the most recent sibling, as well as some new voice work for the introduction. Skywind is the current project being worked on by modders to get all the Morrowind stuff into the Skyrim Engine.

I guess that texture pack I heard about was overstated then. I might try Skywind when its finished if I ever get around to buying to Skyrim on pc

You'll also need Morrowind and it's expansions, as it pulls data strait from that game.

Be careful of what you choose, folks! I've seen reboots that made things in games worse - For example, FF6 for the GBA really lost a lot of its magic when they changed the music samples used in the game, and well, we all know about EA's Syndicate, right?

As for my option...

However, despite all the exposure it got, and being part of the first E3, Secret of Evermore could really use a reboot that fixes a few of the mechanics and difficulty. Secondly, it would remind Square that
the ending did set itself up for a sequel, and it left quite a few of questions unanswered regarding Evermore's development and creation, and its dependency on the five characters you meet in the game.
Why go for a new IP when they've got this lying around somehere, where if they act now, they can get out a continuation that still can follow a strong timeline?

Sure, everyone needs more love! And hugs. Lots of hugs.

Plus, since I do that, I feel proud that I made you stop lurking. Thats a helluva low post count for someone who has been here for two years xD

Rise of Nations is my favourite game. It always has been. I have been playing it since I discovered it age 9. So... 12 years. Its amazing. I play it too much. I always have.

If we are talking about remakes, and Not JUST improved graphics, then;

-Morrowind - (great game, but maybe overhaul the combat)

-Kotor & Kotor II (Better Engine, Better Graphics, Better animations)

-Star Wars Battlefront II (Better Graphics, More Units, Better AI, Better Engine, More compatibility with new systems)

-Star Wars Empire at War (More unit variations, Better Graphics, Smoother gameplay, More factions)

-Medieval Total War 2 (its not so old But I would like to see it on the Shogun 2 Engine because it runs better for me)

-Freelancer (Awesome game but need better graphics, better engine, more ships)

-Fable The Lost Chapters (really just a graphics enhancement would do here, and maybe modding tools, better ones)

-Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of war (all the first ones, you know where you can BUILD A BASE they were awesome and I still play them)

-Command and Conquer Red alert 2 Yuri's Revenge (Bloody awesome RTS, would love to see it with better graphics and maybe more units now)

-KKND2 Crossfire (this was such a great RTS in its time, now I can never even find it)

-Dungeon Keeper (many games TRY to remake this, but they seem to fail at many key points)

-Fallout Tactics (awesome RTS/Tactics game, it would need a more free-form gameplay, like joinable factions etc and better graphics

Thats all I can think of right now, So if there are any Devs out there that need an idea of something to reboot, DO NOT CHANGE THE GAME! just enhance it.

Robinson's Requiem - now that's a survival game, would love to see it remade.

I want a sequel for Armed and Dangerous and Commandos.

Wonder Boy in Monster World.

I saw a Let's Play of a game called Amulets and Armour:
That'd be pretty cool brought up to date.

Both System Shocks. While they are still excellent in terms of atmosphere and narrative, they could do with a little more visual flair and their flawed, rather clumsy gameplay could use some smoothing.

Actually, it would be nice if Squenix remembers they have lots of great franchises in their vaults that don't have the words 'final', 'dragon' or 'kingdom' in their titles.

Not sure if they have done this yet, but I would like to see a remake of shin megami tensei 1 and 2. I think a remake of those two would be pretty interesting. Also, if Earthbound was remade, that would be interesting to see as well.

I would love to see more done with Myst. The universe, backstory and aesthetics were great, as were the puzzles for the most part. I'd like to see more deviations from the point-and-click puzzler now that the technology has caught up with the vision that they seemed to have.

People often tell me this idea is brilliant: remake Star Wars: Republic Commando.
DAMMIT!

Also the Kingdom Hearts series. And I only mean 1&2.
Imagine HD graphics on some of the cut scenes (which originally had amazing graphics for the time and console, but still...).

Why are people posting games they already love and are perfectly fine how they are?

Xenogears does not need a remake, it is a masterpiece how it is.

What DOES need a remake is A Boy and His Blob for the NES, overhaul the game and smooth out the bugs and this would make my year.

And Mother 3, not so much a remake, as a translation into English and perhaps a port to a relevant system. Not the WiiU though.
A remake generally means they at least make a new engine for it so the game looks like it belongs among the current generation. Just about all the N64 and early PS2 games could use an update in visuals at the very least given how far we've come in technology.
