Star Tropics for the NES.

I've only encountered two other people who have actually played it.

Anachronox!

A delightful RPG with a tour of the Universe. Sure, the engine was old even in its time, but it had a brilliant story with witty humour, an original plot, and fun gameplay.

No one else ever seems to have played Arx Fatalis and I think it's rather a shame, really. I truly think it is an epic game.

Arx Fatalis was incredible. Rumor has it a sequel is in the works, but we'll have to wait and see.
Arx 2 (or at it was before release) is actually Dark messhia, and speaking of games no one Played DM was a good game despite itself(bugs, and lack of story and acting,gameplay alone is better than BS and FO3)
===================
Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars was fcking awesome(for a grid based TBS) its a shame it didn't have any splash damage based weapons...which was its only down point since it made fights more tedious than they should have been.
=================
I know no one here played Vasteel(TBS with action based combat) or Legend of Heros(RPG) or Comic fantasy 2(RPG) on the turbo duo :p.
===============
Ninja 5-O is another game I bet went under the radar.

C-dogs and Urban Assault.

C-dogs is currently the ultimate co-op game i've played. Oh, the hours spent knifing down bug-eyed monsters. Or each other.

Urban assault is a very overlooked strategy/sim game. One where there is only one resource and there is no God-camera. Every viewpoint is attached to the hull of a unit or your Host station. Also lets you take direct control of your militants.

Played it and 2 ^^
I tried the sequel as well, but I didn't like it actually. The original, however, is one of my favourite games of all time, and which I still play to this very day.

Wow really you think no one has played that. I love that game.

I got a better question Who has played I Wanna Be The Guy longer than an hour without breaking their laptop

Played it and passed it thank you very much.
That shows my elite level of skill and determination!

[small]I totally didn't fail and have to use a guide after 3 hours of epic flailing or anything...[/small]

It was shallow sure but better than most of the new games I had access to.

Oh!

Firefighter F.D. 18

Released by Konami. A very repetitive game. I'd imagine you'd be lucky to even find this game anymore.
I played that game in the arcade, did it come to consoles?
Yep, sure did. It at least came out on PS2. I inherited it from my brother when he gave me his Playstation.

And another one. NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona. If I could find this game today, i'd buy it in a heartbeat! An amazingly enjoyable game.

I'd have to say Grim Fandango and Incredible Crisis are way up there on under appreciated genius.

Silent Bomber was another game I played a ton as a kid that nobody seems to remember.

American McGee's Alice. Such an epic game. When people talk about games being art that's the first game that comes to mind. Not nearly enough people have played it tho. I can't friggin wait for the second one to come out.

Good: Okami, XIII, Super Mario RPG (YAY), Advent Rising, Eternal Darkness

Bad: None immeadiately come to mind, except Red Steel *shudder*

WTF?: Kingdom of Loathing. Really, good luck with that one folks.
okami and XIII were quality. not played the other 3 you listed, but i might have a look at them as it appears you have taste. i also shudder at red steel. cant believe i paid £15 for that. thankfully it came with no more heroes.
I do think that all the rest are good, but I should point out that it may be due to my own opinion. Super Mario RPG is on the SNES, Advent Rising on the first X-Box, and Eternal Darkness on the gamecube.

American McGee's ALICE = A game so masterfully written you'd think Carroll himself wrote it, even if it has crap jumping controls.

Mother 3 = I dunno if many have played this on the emulator, but it's a wonderfully melancholy game with a fantastic innovative battle system.

Eternal Champions = Crippled controls on the Genesis version yes, but great story and when you get the Overkills right, more violent than Mortal Kombat. The Sega CD version has better controls thankfully.

Splatterhouse series = An awesome violent beat-em-up about saving your girlfriend from a demonic mansion. All of them are pretty good, 1 and 2 especially since 3 had this confusing map layout. They're gonna remake the first game into 3D this year which I'm very excited about since they said they're gonna make it INCREDIBLY brutal.

Psychonauts = Yahtzee is right about this game, it's disturbing and funny, with only combat being its weakness. Seriously, it's awesome.

Off-Piste. Even though it has shitty production values (meaning it would get low scores by most reviewers), it was really fun. Imagine SSX but with other vehicles too.

edit: And Ive heard that very few baught psychonauts and Beyond good and evil, so Im gonna say those. Both are great of course. Another game released on the dreamcast, ps2 and pc, Fur Fighters is one of the most original games Ive ever played, and it was great too of course.
