Sadly, I know quite a few truck drivers that have bought that game.

Halo wars, my reasons are: not made by blizzard, console only, and its halo, they curbstomped any real point to that right after they finished the first game and book
Naruto: that series is mind wrenchingly shitty
barbie, my little pony, exploration games. self explanatory
gears of war 3 if they make it, will end up ruining the entire series if they are not careful
movie games and TV games: when havent they sucked?
LOTR games: overkill
anything not made by blizzard or has the name The Sims/half life on it in the computer games aisle not in the jewelcase section.
So no game is worth buying unless its made by Blizzard, Valve or Will Wright?
Valve, Blizzard, and Will Wright care alot more about the final product then most companies (although i should have pointed out that The Sims 3 hasnt been touched by Will Wright, although they have so much groundwork, it will be hard to screw up), epic games should also be on the list, but i posted that late at night. most games themselves have just become cookie cutter. and i was being a little general. for instance, if you manage to find a copy of guild wars, ill endorse buying that because its a fun game. but honestly, most games you can find in a store for computer if they didnt come out before 2003 suck or are no longer original

ill endorse only a few modern games because they fix the problems with older versions of the games, such as Midnight club LA, NFS carbon, and saints row 2.

Apparently, I had no idea I was playing so many worthless games. (Extreme sarcasm)
aparently you dont read beyond graphics for a game, because if you did, you either see depth to the storyline, or someone who only wants your money

People will buy ANYTHING.
That's the point I was trying to make. Gamers either do their research before buying a game or they just read the back of the box and believe the game when it promises fun, sunshine, and cookies. I'd like to find a worldwide poll of gamers and parents who buy games for their kids to see which group is bigger: The Wise Gamers Who Do Research or The Suckers Who'll Buy Anything.

I'd say Carol Vodermann's Soduku. A £30 portable game to get what is essentially a puzzle book (for around £2)

The deep discount bins at my local game stores are full of games about monster trucks, yet publishers keep making them. Monster trucks are cool to watch at a rally and all, but apparently, they aren't too impressive in video games.

The Hardy Boys adventures. I'm a huge Hardy fan, but I wouldn't take it if it was given to me.

Then, while in the store laughing at it after having picked up crysis, two parents and their 6 year old walked up, the mother sighed and her eyes glazed over as she scanned the games, she reached over and plucked it off the shelf, muttering "This looks good"

True story.

Sadly, I suspect that the Suckers Who'll Buy Anything group is probably bigger and is growing. It's the only way to explain how game publishers who are in the business to make money bother to publish all the shovelware you see in the stores. Someone's got to be buying all those crappy games. Otherwise, series like the (insert something cute here) and change the ending "s" to a "z" games would have ended after the first game was made.

Agreed. Sports games are one of those things I think people should be ashamed of buying. Play a sport IRL with your friends, and have a good, memorable time.

My little Pony: Erotic Island Adventures
I really hope you meant "exotic" island adventures... I haven't exactly kept up on the my little pony "universe", but I certainly hope it doesn't include an erotic adventure... thats wrong on so many many levels... ++shudder++

As for my own thoughts, how about Blinx or Blinx 2?

I was going to throw Viva Pinata under the bus too, but I got both of them for a song, and my wife absolutely LOVED them(party animals doesn't count, so it can go under said bus...), plus... I got the free gamer points (back in the days when she didn't want to bother creating a profile on my 360... good times...)

So I was wandering around the DS section of a store one day, and you know how they have the standard "Hey Kids! Lets all pretend to be a ______" Usually filled with particularly feminine titles like 'fashion designer', 'babysitter', 'ice skater', etc? I kid you not, this is what I found: Air Traffic Controller. AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER. Correct me if I'm wrong but which idiot child aspires to be a freaking AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER much less wants to play a game about being one?!?! (no offense to all the air traffic controllers out there, please don't crash my plane...)
