Final Fantasy X, I literally shed a tear when the final cutscene played. In fact, I can name numerous times throughout the game where I felt as though I was best friends with Tidus, Wakka, Auron, Yuna etc. I'll never forget it, I rarely get touched by Video Games, but wow, Final Fantasy X was just incredible.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days has one of the saddest endings in videogame history. Silent Hill Shattered Memories is also pretty sad.

FF7. I was one of those that cried when Aeris died.
SotC is one of the few games that never fails to instill a sense of awe in me.
The Darkness. First game that actually got the revenge driven protagonist right. Cus it made me wanna get revenge too.

Nier was a heart-wrenching game. Particularly when:

Emile died. I know he was a whiny git, but it was still upsetting. And when Kaimé was turned to stone

I still get all emotional in the scene in Gears 2 when Dom finds Maria. I don't know how a guy who lost his parents, brother, children and now his wife can still function. I guess in Gears 3 we'll be able to see how damaged he really is.

Here it is if you don't remember:

Half-Life 2 Episode 2. The ending was so sad... I really hope Valve announces Episode 3 soon.

Fallout 3 for real! When your Dad dies the rage and regret that was going through my head! Also Fallout NV but only as I was RPing as the Lone Wanderer so had the combined rage of the previous game and that mother****er Benny!

FFX for me too, such a beautiful game.

Lost Odyssey is also pretty darn touching.

Heavy Rain.

Probally because it was a massive cinder block of melancholy being smacked over your face every fucking second.

Or maybe Ico.

Watching Ico and Yorda, walking through the grassy fields, holding each other's hands. Just, beautiful.

I can name a ton; Silent Hill 2-4, Today I die, Company of Myself, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, I can name quite a few.

Said it before and I'll say it again. The endings to both Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 made me cry.

Silent Hill 2 certainly goes in here.

But if I am to go for a recent game; Company of Myself [http://www.freewebarcade.com/game/the-company-of-myself/]
It'll take you 15 minutes tops, and is one of the biggest slaps to the face I've encountered.

here comes a list:
Mass effect2: my heart pumped through the whole suicide mission and the feeling when blowing up the base, MAGNIFICENT!
Bioshock: a lot of moments but the beginning in particular *shivers the good way*.
Halo Series: also a lot of moments made me shiver.
The Beatles Rockband: feelings of joy and sadness I didn't expect from a music game.
gears of war 2: the big speech and when you find maria.
Assasin's Creed: a beautiful game, that says enough.
Dragon Age: The whole game was just WOW.
also the Elders Scrolls series, I had a reason that I almost cried of joy when I saw the trailer.

Shadow of the Colossus was a very intense/emotional game to play.

All the intuitive controls that really conveyed the tension of holding on to a gigantic stone Colossus made you genuinely terrified that you would lose your grip at any moment- a feeling that was quadrupled when it was one of the FLYING colossus. Combined with the BEAUTIFUL dynamic orchestral music and always being impressed by the sheer size and artistic design of the Colossus that really made them the prospect of killing them seem very daunting and genuinely rewarding, yet bittersweet when each collapses to the ground.

I couldn't play that game for long. Had to take extended breaks between each Colossus. But that's what makes it so unforgettable

Also this.

I remember the first time I reached that part, sitting watching it, and my mum came in and before she even said anything she just started watching it too after noticing me looking at it.

She cried, that single scene made her cry. She knows nothing of the backstory etc, powerful stuff.

A particular, chilling revelation in Silent Hill 2, I've played through that game over and over, it's haunting when you're all too aware of what will come. The game does an excellent job of building up to it.
The sacrifice at the end of Super Metroid had quite an impact way back (no, Other M will not ruin that).
I can't think of any others that spring to mind, part from... that moment, early on in Half-life 2 episode 2.

Games that had an emotional impact on me that I can remember were definately FF7 and Lost Odyssey especially the part where
Kaim meets his daughter who he thought was dead
...

And ofcourse World of Warcraft! Ok maybe that was a joke ;)
