I'd love to have been in the meeting where the writers went, "now, we have this really interesting character-driven story, but what I was thinking was that about 2/3 of the way into the game, we could completely ignore that and not resolve anything to do with them at all."

Enslaved should have been taking notes, because that's how you do a poignant story, write a developing relationship between two characters, and carry their full character-arcs through the game.
