Any Pokemon game, Bioshock, Halo 3, Assassin's Creed, Batman: AA, CoD4.
Those games took away hours of my life.

Games are really expensive in Australia, so I have to think...is anything really worth $110 of my hard-earned cash? Well, I can think of some games that are.

Oblivion
Fallout 3
Mass Effect
And, I'm tempted to say, GTA:IV

All the other games I've bought that I would say are worth that much were from the previous generation and considerably less expensive, so it would be a much longer list. Those are just the Xbox 360 games I have right now that have been worth the investment. CoD4 would also be up there, if the campaign were just the tiniest bit longer - I want more of a good thing. =) And, I mean, Portal, obviously, so damn cheap on XBLA.

So far, I'd have to say Borderlands, Oblivion, and Cryostasis. Damnit, I will never be able to say enough good things about Cryostasis.

The last game I bought and felt was worth the price was Supreme Commander : Forged Alliance. (and its predecessor)

After forking out $50 for CoD4 and finding multiplayer really lacklustre, I've returned to my try before I buy policy.

I knew this would be on here! Actually I got it used for $15, so it's kinda funny that it's worth the full 60. It just passed me by I guess.

With the damn near obscene price of a new game these days makes getting your money's worth more important than ever.

By money's worth I mean staying value, is it a game you can play a lot of at a time then come back to months later or something you play on a regular basis.

I'm including games from previous generations that were worth the "then" price.

Games this generation that were worth what I paid for:
Mass Effect
Fallout 3
Rainbow Six: Vegas
Gears of War 1/2
Saints Row 2
The Orange Box
Call of Duty 4
God of War 2 (Not technically this generation, but relatively recent)
The only one in that list that I felt I got my monies worth for was orange box, but I got that for free soo... (and I even got call of duty 4 for $60 instead of $110, still felt cheated). In fairness I still haven't gotten around to saints row 2 or god of war 2 yet so that could be awsome.

OT every metal gear solid game (except the third, I didn't have a ps2 and cannot find it now *sadface*), legend of zelda OoT and majoras mask, killing floor, warcraft 3 and frozen throne, call of duty 1 & 2 (PC, the community was awsome), UT2004, halo (and halo 2), grand theft auto (all of them up until vice city) and wii cricket (only played it once at a mates house, but it was damn awsome). All I can think of right now. It has to have a whole lot of appeal to be worth $100-$120 to me, the 3-4 slabs of beer I could buy instead would set me up for several whole weekends of entertainment, even if the games fun, if it is over too quickly it wasn't worth over $100.

Civilization 4. That game is just way too massive, and the games are really long. And Company of Heroes, which is easily my favorite RTS ever. I think I'll be struggling with Starcraft 2, and units that don't take damage realistically.
And of course, the Orange Box.

As for now, I only buy games which I deem good after watching a whole walkthrough, watching reviews as well as looking for new game + (yeah, I go for single player games) so i pretty much only spend my money when I truly see a game as enjoyable and replayable. Thus my roster for the current gen consoles which I deem worth the full price is exactly what my collection is right now.

Warning (PC and PS3 are my only mediums):
- Heavenly Sword (no matter how short that game was, it was still incredible and i come back to it from time to time...until God of War 3 shows up)
- Dead Space
- MGS 4
- The Orange Box
- Bioshock
- Fallout 3 (it was worth it until I build my character so strong that the game was unchallenging anymore...plus no variety in gameplay)
- Borderlands
- Uncharted 2
- Braid
- World of Goo
- Armadillo Run
- Plants vs Zombies

Pretty much anything i've bought from Bethesda, Bioware, and Bungie, Also Pokemon games, Borderlands, Used ones are: Dark Sector ($8), Sneak King ($1), Time Shift ($13), Condemned($10)... The list goes on, but my point is that when you buy used alot, most games are worth what you pay for them... EDIT: I forgot The Orange Box ($20)... It's Five Games!
