It's not likeleaving him left handed would have affected the controls at all. I still don't see why people were complaining about it though, not every Link was going to be a lefty if he's a different person each time, it's statistically unlikely.
I was just a little taken aback when I saw that Death Mountain was now on the complete opposite side of the world and all the writting on the signs was back-to-front as were the dungeon maps in my guide book. It was quite the head fuck untill my fucked-up head managed to comprihend the reason for it all.

It's true, they should have stuck with Wind Waker, exept a little less cutesy... If fact, they should have taken the Wind Waker gameplay and graphics and made a completely different game, all about pirates!
I actually liked the cartoony approach, it made it a game of color and was a pleasure to look at, considering what else was coming at the time was a lot darker.

Boy do I have to agree with Dead Rising.

Anyway, Left 4 Dead is a party/co-op game. If you take it out of that context, it's not the same experience. I probably have 100+ hours of Left4Dead 1/2 just killing zombies with my wife and it is <3. Great fun for just saying "hey, let's go shoot some stuff together."

What I'm saying is, if you took the cartoonyness and the colours and the styled and incorporated it with a storyline that had a little more substance with some original characters and some depth, it could really be something else!

Wind Waker is still awsome mind, my favourite Zelda after Ocarina. It's probably because it holds the same Zelda atmosphere in terms of interaction and progression, but is different enough to be viewed as seperate. There should be more games like it; those are games that are definately worth the effort.

Well in that case, I totally agree with you ^_^

Hellgate london really wore on me quick, every monster was the same, I played it for a while thinking it has to getter there has to be some cool weapon up ahead. Never found that cool gun I was hoping for

Another one was Oblivion I didn't even buy it and I couldn't bring myself to play ti for more than a couple of hours. not enough direction in the game, like the side quests never seemed worthwhile doing and even the main quest was very vague in my opinion. Also why would I want to do the main quest when there are so many things to steal

Fallout 3 same problem as Oblivion except the VATs system was painful I was hoping for more you know, my own skill to be crucial not computer generated dice. I can paly pencil and paper games with dice I don't need a gui for that.

Mirror's Edge.
So much potential, let down by unpolished controls, third-rate storytelling and checkpoints set at the most aggravating possible locations in both time and space. I can't think of it without shedding a tear.

Resident Evil 5, as well. You'd think after the success of 4 (which was never my favorite game, but it's good at what it does) they would've just done the Castlevania thing and poured new paint on it.

Oh, and Lunar: Dragon Song, the one game in my possession that I've actually considered throwing away. They took the best thing about the Lunar series (the writing and charm), crapped all over it, then wiped themselves with the gameplay.

Majora's Mask could've been an amazing game. It had potential to be, and it's quite possible it was. But I don't know if it is or not, and there's a chance I never will know, because I find it much too difficult to put up with that save system. God, that thing was annoying.

What's going on here exactly? Are these actually bad games, or games we simply lost complete interest in?

If the former, X-Blades. The whole thing just feels unfinished, and it was a massive grind trying to get to the end of the whole thing. And then there were the characters. Ayumi, I could deal with (I hate her hair though, and the creators were clearly trying to hard for her outfit). Jay, the sidekick... let's just say that I was glad to get the "bad ending".

Jay dies by Ayumi's hand.

If the latter, I have quite a few. Ninja Gaiden 2 with its broken-ass combat system simply stopped being fun; Wet was cool, though not great, and I never went back to it after I beat it since I have other (and better, though I hate to say that) action games to bide my time; BioShock and Dead Space was both a bit of fun and creepy, but I was never into it enough to want to finish the game. There are others (such as Prototype, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows), but they all follow similar reasons.

Left 4 Dead...I just kill zombies. Where's the sense of progress? At least give me some kind of minor leveling system. Little things like that help. The level unlocks don't have to be unbalanced, but say you unlock clothing for the ingame characters or something. Like "give Zoey mustache" or something.
A few servers I've played on have leveling systems. They do little things like double your clip size and make you move a little faster, sort of like MW2's perk system.

The Water Temple in Ocarina of Time always makes me want to give up every time I play it. It's a well-designed level, I'll give it that, but it's incredibly frustrating having to go through the long-ass tunnel to get to the switch that changes the water level just to get that one key you forgot about on the first floor. Also, if you do things wrong, you can get stuck forever, and that's no good.

I feel like I'm going to be lynched, but World of Warcraft. I spent so much money and time playing it, that I felt guilty whenever I did /played.

Evil Genius. The game's idea was great, music was good and it had good humour in it but the gameplay was just bad and boring.

Prince of Persia 2008. I was playing through it then I forgot about the game completely because it was so boring. I eventually found it, put it back in, finished it and actually said "well that wasn't worth it."
I can't believe I wasted 8 hours of my life playing that piece of shit... every battle was a drudging chore.

I have to say the new Prince of Persia. It got very tedious at some point and the ending sucked to hell.

Hm....what else.... Burnout Paradise irked me as nothing ever changed in the city. The only thing that happened was that the challenges got harder.

I almost quit portal because I couldn't beat one of the levels, but cheat codes saved me.

Ocarina of Time after I took a LONG time to go through the desert hideout and then realized I was using the wrong memory card. Just dropped it there. I want to go back eventually though.

Dead Rising over here. How could it fail? Just wander about killing zombies! But the awkward save system and stupid challenge in the restaurant at the start ,kill the guy on the ledge while helping the black cop, just removed any enjoyment.

More recently it's Assassin's Creed 2. Great game, up to a point. Then I hit a brickwall of *meh* and just never went back. Totally lost interest.

Games that weren't worth the effort for me pretty much boil down to Prototype and Halo 3

Prototype, I didn't like the story, some of the fights were ridiculously hard, and then the eventual payoff for finishing was utter bullshit.

Halo 3, I liked the story enough to play it, but it was over before it had even started, and though I enjoyed it while I played it, when I finished it I looked back and thought, 'hang on, was that it?'

Have to say though, I've replayed Halo 3, I haven't replayed Prototype.

OT: Oblivion, just the terrible acting and storyline, i could NEVER finish the damned thing, EVEN if i played just the storyline, could never finish.
I didn't like oblivion either, hated the levelling system... so we were supposed to choose skills which we will not use often so that we don't level too quickly or else the game will become to difficult.... riiiight. I traded my copy in for borderlands, which I also kinda regret.
