Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater. That game made me tear up at the end.

The end of Half Life 2: Episode 2 also made me tear up.

Are we talking full blown sobbing, or just a single tear rolling down the cheek? Coz the latter is all i do when i play games or watch movies.

***EDIT*** Can we put spoiler warnings in, people? I dont wanna scroll through and find out the endings that sucks the most BECAUSE OF THIS - use spoiler warnings PLEASE ***EDIT***

The intense atmosphere in Gears 2. You know the scene, the incredibly melodramatic scene. I didn't cry, but I did have to take like 15 seconds to gather myself. It was a pretty sad scene.
I know the scene you're talking about, I remember I was doing a co op run through, and I had music on random, and the moment the sad part began, "my immortal" by evenescense came on. I would've cried so much, if I wasn't a coldhearted bastard, so I merely made an anarexia joke and moved on.

The only games that truly make me cry are the "imagine" series on ds whenever I see them. WHY DS!? WHY HAS A CONSOLE WITH SUCH POTENTIAL TURNED SO BAD!!!?

Probably the 5th time I've posted this clip in a thread:

THAT is what you people were crying about?!

THAT pathetic excuse of voice acting and terrible writing?!

For fuck's sake, I could barely watch it, not from sorrow, from hatred, that was just as terrible as every other moment of those terrible games. except MAYBE for the T-rex, that was alright.

The ending of Link's Awakening was pretty sad. I definitely cried, though I was only... Eight or nine when I actually beat it.

I shed tiny manly tears during Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door of all things, specifically when Admiral Bobbery reads his dead wife's letter. 'twas very sad.

The end of Mafia is sad, but the way it's done is in such a way that Tommy's accepting of his fate and his mistakes, so you don't really want to cry.

The Sands of Time's ending hit a fucking nerve with me though.

Oh, and if anyone says GTA IV's ending(s) made them cry I will cut them.

Hmm..Games which made me cry, well there's two varies:

The one which made me cry out of frustration and sheer depression of never being able to do it...

Which was Metro 2033 on Hard...need I say more than vehicle section and the wooden barricade...

over 20 attempts...I was mentally raped by the end of that!!

As for one which made me cry, out of really emotional power, probably the scene in Mass effect 1, where you have to choose between Kaiden or Ashley...

This is a bit of a old game, Yet you were a Jedi in a space ship always fighting Arial fights, Great fun, But I wanted to cry when Rettie died. Guy was hilarious. It was a game that was set in the begging of the clone wars.
Wait there was a character in a game with my last name? Madness!

The only game I have physically cried over was about 10 years ago when I first completed FFIX. I think I cried firstly out of the joy of finally completing it (I was young - was the first Final Fantasy I played) and secondly because I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN ZIDANE AND GARNET WERE REUNTIED!

Of course, other games have made me feel somewhat melancholic:
The aforementioned scene in Gears of War 2 when Dom finds his wife...and when Tai or whatever his name is kills himself.
Kingdom Hearts 2 when Roxas disappears.
Ending of FFXIII...even thought it was a bit of a kick in the teeth. Still, I thought they'd come back as I knew that you could only unlock level 10 Crysarium after defeating Orphan (I didn't know it would allow you to save and reload from the save point before WITH the added stuff).
Red Dead was sad, but I knew it was coming because someone told me before...

When your dad dies on Fallout, that was sad. Not because I had any sort of emotional feelings towards Dad; just because I would not hear Liam Neeson's voice any more.

Silent Hill 2...what a game
The last time you see Angela, and the In Water and Maria endings. Some of the most haunting and sad moments in gaming, yet so very fitting.

Games I can remember making me tear up: Silent Hill 2, FF9, Fatal Frame 3, and Kingdom Hearts.

Maybe I was just too young, but FF7 did nothing for me. I never used her in the party. I preferred Tifa.

Halo 2.
...
Oh wait... We're talking about the sad crying, right?
...
Right. Final Fantasy X always makes me cry. I cried a little at the end of Halo 3 when it looked like Master Chief died, but then immediately stopped crying and started cheering when it showed he wasn't dead after the credits.
