OT: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game
Not too sure how much people disliked this game, but I saw a guy on Youtube rage quit this game after the first level on the easiest setting. A couple of things to note though: he was under the impression that he was playing a TMNT beat'em up (that why there's a Block button, Chief!), didn't seem very focused while playing, and he is notorious for rage quitting and throwing a tantrum if a game isn't ridiculously easy or obviously awesome.
I do have a very good idea as to who that was...

Don't let him get to you. Michael is just goofin. Check out his Mortal Kombat rage quit.

The Game of Thrones RPG. I don't care about the "bad combat"(only a slower version of dragon age), the "not best voice acting"(didn't care), The "bad graphic"(overrated). I wanted a novel/story game and I'll be damned if it wasn't good. I've never really seen the show or read the books, but after that game I'm intrigued. I knew it wasn't going to be the latest triple A game, but the score it got was horrible.

My epitome of video game meaning. Fun meter into overdrive, skill meter into hyperdrive and destruction into FTL drive. I can't find faults except for the menus but who fucking cares !

TAKEDOWNS GALORE ! WHOOOOOOO !
I miss crash junctions.

Since you mentioned that, I have to say Katamari... any of them.
It's very approachable, adorable, compelling, fun, and funny. It's just a great concept matched with a very intuitive control scheme.

Those are the two reasons I got a ps2.

I think Fallout 3 always gets a bad rap. The game was doomed to be hated by the so-called "fans" the second it was announced.

But for me, strolling through the capital wasteland, dog by my side, music on the radio and a gun that can blow off a raider's head at 50 paces is one gaming's greatest pleasures.
I started playing the Fallout series in 1998. All of them. Fallout 3 and New Vegas are the games I was dreaming about while playing the first two. I loved them. As far as glitches, the Fallout series have been plagued with glitches for as long as I can remember.

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2

It's like a supercar mashed up and turned into a CD. I can't really describe it properly, but it's got the same sense of wonder and amazement you get when you see something like a big ol' Diablo rolling by. I'm not much of a car buff, but I absolutely love the feeling supercars give you. Richard Hammond said it best; a good supercar should make you feel like a 10 year old.
Sure, it's not a very realistic racing game, but that's the reason I can't see why anyone would hate it. It means everyone can pick it up and have a go in a Murcielago or whatever. You don't need to be a racing sim nerd to have fun with it.

Seems like everyone is pointing out modern games... which often have a large base of critics and fans respectively...

How about some classic series?

Who here has ever heard someone hating on Super Mario Bros. Deluxe? Or the original SEGA sonic side-scrollers?
How about Ocarina of Time, or maybe even good ol' Croc?

I've yet to meet anyone familiar with those titles, that says they hated them. Sure, might not be their type of game, but they still enjoyed playing them!

I mean seriously... how can anyone hate Super Mario Bros. Deluxe?

But what about better gameplay
You mean the removal of the tactical overview in favor of spammy action gameplay? Hated it. Making ME twitchier made it better, making DA twitchier made it worse.

As an empathetic person I generally see both sides of a debate, so I generally get why people hate my favorite games (I get why some people are okay with DA2, it doesn't stop the 8 hour cash grab from pissing me off, though).

I'd say the Arkham games and Mount and Blade: Warband. AA and AC had their flaws, sure, but.. it was being in a friggin' Batman cartoon. M&B, ugly as sin, but.. massive medieval open world RPG version of Pirates! with fps jousting, swordplay and archery.. amazing.

Persona 4. Now I have yet to find someone who has said the literal words "I hate Persona 4" so that's a good sign but I can tell that those people who dislike JRPGs are silently judging. I had no love for JRPGs either, I was pretty neutral on the whole thing. I wasn't gonna have a fit over FF VIII-5 The Revengance being released nor was I going to go on about FF7 being baist thing evar.

Basically the long and short of it is that Persona 4 transcends genre as far as i'm concerned. It's just that good.

I mean just listen to this:

TOO GOOD!
I haven't heard anyone say they absolutely hated Persona 4. Hell, the only criticism I can give P4 is its significant amount of pants-on-head retarded plot moments (but mostly because the characters often just suddenly seem to get hit with retardation whenever the main plot jumps into frame). Other than that it's really an awesome game.

I still prefer P3's soundtrack by a mile though. Now that I think about it, I can't really pick between P3 and P4 in general. P3's quality overall seems to fluctuate a lot yet has regular moments of brilliance, whereas P4's quality's a lot more balanced, but rarely seems to reach a significant peak like P3 does.

Seriously though. These three were just unbelievable:

I don't think the game was necessaries hated, but it seems quite a few disliked City of Heroes when it really deserved more credit. A lot of people seem to only judge it based on about 3 years ago without considering how it's improved recently before NCSoft decided to shut it down and sit on the IP. Considering it's likely NCSoft will retreat mostly into the Korean Market in future, it's a damn shame the franchise will never be seen again.

Mirrors Edge.

How that game didn't sell more copies is really beyond me. Beautiful game, challenging and fun to play, unique, decent story, great soundtrack etc etc.

It sucks because we'll probably never see a sequel.
This. Definitely this!

Yes, I know the controls can be a little annoying but I loved it! and I hope they do do a sequel!

Did all of your FFVIII experience come from Kingdom Hearts?
[sub]Psst! His name is Squall...[/sub]
Haha, rookie mistake, my apologies. My first encounter with Squall Leonhart (I do know his name! Not sure about the spelling, though...) was, in fact, in Kingdom Hearts. I only played Final Fantasy VIII for the first time recently. So, yeah, he was introduced to me as Leon, so whenever I think of him, that's the first name that pops into my head. I usually do a better job of correcting myself, though.

Flower, I mean how can you hate that? It's like serenity in game forum. I know someone likely don't like it though.

You brought it up so I'm bringing the heat. 'Deep breath'

Dragon age 2. Yup I said it and I won't take it back. Main story small scale is good big scale bad, every area looking the same also bad, making Anders not as funny as in Awakening also pretty terrible, only one origin pure crappage (made that up), restricting you to human only JUST FUCKING NO!

But what about better gameplay, kickass characters, great character development, better affection system, that smexiness that is the rouge DLC hat Jasmine Cutty's Wrap (seriously that is the sexiest hat I have ever seen and I don't know why), main character can not only talk but can have entirely different tone of voice for the same lines, Merrill again, everybody is bisexual except Sebastian but he just marries girls he doesn't have sex with them fucking chaste tease, Merrill, Varric, and goddamit she's the best character in Dragon age Merrill (at least in the second one she's meh in the first). All of that. Yes. HELL YES! HELL FUCKING YES! I LOVE MERRILL YES! HOW DO PEOPLE HATE THIS GAME!? HOW!?

Captcha: "It's Super Delicious" Obviously Captcha loves Merrill why doesn't everyone.
I'll sort of agree, there are a lot of reasons to hate DA2 but I still liked it a lot, when you look through all the flaws it's a pretty decent game, and the characters are also pretty good.

And I love me some Merrill.

It's the same with me, I do think DA2 is severely flawed, but when it comes down to it, the combat, IMO, is more engaging, the Skill Trees are pretty diverse and are easier. And it has Merrill and Varric, the only 2 characters worth a damn.

The Witcher 2

This game is near perfect, the story is well written and incredibly interesting. Gameplay is challenging without being brutal and very very fun. Voice acting is, for the most part, really good. and it looks gorgeous as well

No, I never asked that. I tend to say, it works for me, but I understand why others hate it.

I've never said, "This game is awesome. How can anyone hate this?" I'm mature enough to understand what works for me will not work for everyone.

And seeing Venice for the first time is not something that will leave me.
Oh, man. One of the best moments in gaming. The game is so atmospheric and magical. And Venice is perfect. I love everything about it. And I particularity like the way Ubisoft made water in Venice. It's completely unrealistic but it looks so pretty I can't stop looking at it.
