They desperately need to finish the Legacy of Kane saga.
True, though sadly we will be doing it without the awesome voice of Tony Jay, who was the Elder God. Not that I actually liked the Elder God. I just like Jay's style.

Fallout 1 and 2 need a sequel. I want more of that universe.
In 2D as well?

On topic, looks like all the games worth mentioning have been said already.

Freedom Fighters, Beyond Good and Evil, SW: Republic Commando, Jade Empire. Although what's worse, having an awesome game ruined by a dodgy sequel or never getting said sequel at all?

It's hilarious because none of the games you mentioned have even the slightest chance in hell of getting a sequel.

Which is depressing because Freedom Fighters was the shit...

Time Splitters was pretty popular, it's not inconceivable that they'd attempt a remake for the PS3.

Off topic, how is the term "the shit" counted as good? Generally calling something "shit" doesn't bring to mind a beneficial relation.

I will just post my answer from the other thread with the exact same name games that need a sequel [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.115482]:

What's worse than games that absolutely need a sequel (Planescape 2, I'm eyeing you!) is when a sequel was actually being worked on but then canceled.

Take for instance Dungeon Keeper 3 [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeon_Keeper_3]:
A third episode of the Dungeon Keeper saga was underway, but opportunities to develop new intellectual properties on new platforms such as PlayStation 2 have meant that DK3 has been put on hold. [...] The projects that provoked Dungeon Keeper 3's cancellation were EA's Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings games.
So we lost DK3 because someone thought it was more important to release a Harry Potter game... That's just sad. Seriously.

Another great loss is the sequel to Stonekeep [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonekeep], Interplay's 1995 RPG:
Interplay's own Black Isle Studios worked on a sequel called Stonekeep 2: Godmaker for five years before cancelling it in 2001.
Five years... As far as I can see there were no screenshots released and there was no reason given why it ever got cancelled.

And a sequel for the astounding Arcanum [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arcanum:_Of_Steamworks_and_Magick_Obscura]:
In September 2006, one of Arcanum's lead programmers and tri-founder of Troika, Leonard Boyarsky, divulged that the studio had originally commenced work on a sequel, going by the working title of Journey to the Centre of Arcanum, which would use Valve's Source Engine. Development was curtailed by disputes between Sierra and Valve, resulting ultimately in the project being shelved.
So it appears that no news means good news in the art of game sequels, so my hopes for Planescape 2 are really high now...

While this technically isn't a true sequel idea, I'd love to see the entire Marathon trilogy remastered in a modern game engine rather than in a release like AlephOne or the semi-fun nightmare of the XBLA Marathon: Durandal.

I think it would be an interesting way to introduce many gamers to one of Bungie's best games. Additionally, I think that a remastered Marathon Trilogy might pave the way for some other remastered classic games. Just updates without messing with core gameplay or story. Well, maybe some changes to gameplay. Marathon would be a very different game with a true physics engine, and you know, the ability to look all the way up or down. Marathon also has a pretty good story if you like to read.

Marathon would be a good stress test for remastering games that are story-heavy. It's got a ton of story elements, some of which directly reference a good deal of classical material, other's deal with psychology, etc. But it's also a shooter. And the masses love them their shooters. Plus, if it's got the Bungie name on it, it'll sell like a hotcake. Imagine the looks on all the bro-gamer's faces when they pop in the remastered Marathon series expecting Halo.

Sure it could probably be a disaster but what the heck? Marathon's so good that people are still playing it online! Not many when compared to most online gaming circles, but it's still a damn good game with a really engrossing narrative.

Now for straight up sequels? I'd like to see a Mirror's Edge sequel, or maybe an actual sequel to Morrowind. Oblivion is the next game in the Elder Scrolls series, but it's too much classical fantasy stuff. Morrowind just had its own special brand of fantasy that was unique. I'd love to see that in a new game.

Failure of communication.
HL2:Ep2 needs a sequel, i.e. Episode 3.

But yea, lol, I misread it.

Great game, but Halo did the introducing. =P Technically Marathon is the prequel to Halo. I think.. Or the other way around. :S Must play it again..
