just answer the title.
For me it's pokémon yellow, call it nostalgia but the fact that you could legitimately use the TV show like an LP back then was just really fun for me, but failing that I've got 3 more options -
1.-super smash bros. on a handheld because it's been nearly 12 years now and there's only been 3 games(and this is NINTENDO)
2.+3.(because I'm lazy bunching them together)- Final Fantasy 13 + Metal Gear Solid 4 but you can play through the game instead without being interrupted by 10 hours of cutscenes and calls

Hmmm, maybe the original fallout, C&C 95, Duke Nukem 3D (I chuckled to myself as I wrote this), or maybe a gritty reboot of Duck Hunt.

I swear, before E3 happened I was clamouring for a Sly Racoon remake. BUT THEN it happened. Life is good.

I only regret not calling it, like I knew I should have, and that I have to wait until at least Autumn.

Getting up: Contents under pressure, a truly great game with a great story and content. I could only imagne its look with current Gen graphics.

Trespasser, it was to advanced to be done properly back in 1998, now would be a great time to re-make it. after all, a game that that had one of the first working physics engines deserves to be brought back to life....+ I would really like to re-play a game that has your health bar placed on your left boob in the shape of a heart...

I wouldn't mind seeing some older RPGs redone, like the original Fallout or Planescape: Torment or things like that. Don't touch the story or characters or gameplay or anything, just fix them up to run on newer systems at useful resolutions, modernize the interfaces so they're a bit less wonky, and clean up the graphics a bit (but they're fine as they are in 2D and everything, but some things could stand to have a bit more detail/color depth/etc. so they're easier to make out).

I'd also like an HD version of Legend of Mana with absolutely nothing changed other than high quality versions of the drawings and watercolors used for the backgrounds/characters. I like to imagine they still have the original artwork somewhere and could do that relatively easily, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't, which would mean it'll never happen.

yeah but the problem is unless it was done by someone big then chances are the developer mightn't be around anymore especially if it was consumed by some giant company like EA

That's easy.
1. Buy he new HG and SS
2. Catch a Pikachu
3. Go to Kanto and dump all your mons sans Pikachu
4.???
5. Profit!
And keep Pikachu in the first slot.

You can't skip cutscenes in XIII? Well, there goes replay value.

OT

Well, I'd have to say Vagrant Story. It would be nice to play it with upgraded graphics and full voice audio.

Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars.
At the risk of sounding like a fanboy; best Square RPG I've ever played!
3DS should be more than capable of handling the graphics, plus Square remakes it's first 6 FF titles every few years (No offense, they're still good.), so why not SMRPG?

Option 2: Super Metroid.
Give it the Zero Mission treatmen, updating the graphics and adding a little on to it.

Option 3: Megaman the entire series
The first got a portable updateon the PSP, I say make an updated portable version of Megaman Aniversary Collection, putting 1-10 on th 3DS. You know what? Put on Megaman 11 as a bonus!

Weird. I noticed most of these desire for remakes I have want them portable, and were all 16-bit at most. I guess it's becuase at least these have a chance of happening. C'mon, Nintendo! You know you want to!

Zelda Ocarina of time and Majoras Mask. Why? Because they were my favorite Zelda games. Well Majoras Mask was at least.

Final Fantasy 8. They have pretty much remade all of them up to 6 and 7 has had loads of spin offs. Why no love for 8?

World of Warcraft. I know it isn't old enough and an expansion is coming out...but:

It was once great...now halt subscriptions for a full year, up the graphics, add voice overs, and make combat more interesting.

Now once all the addicts have detoxed...open it up again and make it the best MMO ever.

I think the OoT remake for the 3DS is in the works, not sure about Majora's mask but with any luck they'll remake that too

Deus Ex series, Max Payne series, The Elder Scrolls Arena, Daggerfall, and Morrowind (Although Morrowind is fairly recent, it should have been less buggy. A remake which would fix the big bugs, even without enhanced graphics, will be welcomed.) and Sid Meier's Covert Action (Look it up, it's an oldie, but I think it's pretty solid.) Oh, and Sword of the Samurai (Another one that's crazy old.)

Caught that South Park reference: ? always comes before profit.
