Resident Evil 2 (or 3). Remade like the Gamecube version of Resident Evil 1.

I swear if they wasn't Gamecube exclusives they'd have sold like wildfire!

[Edit: I am aware there might not be that big a market for people who want to buy wildfire.]

Moonbase Alpha should have a remake in which the entire game doesn't revolve around giggling at things you write in the chatbox.

1. Ocarina of time
2. zelda a link to the past
3. ehh?? Super Mario world :)

but in order for this to work the remakes should ONLY have improved graphics and nothing else!!! no change in the story NOTHING! but the graphics =)

I would like a remake of Kings Quest, like they're doing with monkey island right now. I miss point and click so much :(

I would like to see a remake of the Suikoden 1 and 2 games. Not changing characters or storyline at all but just amping up the graphics a bit

Final Fantasy 8. They have pretty much remade all of them up to 6 and 7 has had loads of spin offs. Why no love for 8?
Because it was the worst in the entire series?

Remakes need to stop. No game has EVER been improved by a remake, most get ruined by some new developer having the nerve to think they have a better idea of what the game should be than the people that made it. Publishers just need to start selling classic old games for very cheap as downloadables. No more than $5, even for the 32-bit games.

I honestly think that any game that hasn't been remade already should have one. Actually, just ditch most remakes in general. Make NEW games, not cling to old ideas...actually...Black Mesa: Source looks sweet...if it ever comes out.

I think Planescape:Torment could be really epic with the Sigil in full 3D.

Oh, and I always thought that Shogo: M.A.D. was very fun game and would work with some new mechanics.

Until a few weeks ago, would have said Summoner. Then I got Dragon Age, and there was no longer any need for it.

Half-life 2: episode 3. Or Half-Life 3.
/thread.
Shouldn't we wait for the first iteration of the game to be released first?

I say Oot, (Which apparently is) the Sly series, (which is) and the original Spyro games (which was rebooted. And sucked)

Why do we need remakes? The originals haven't gone anywhere, if you're suffering from that much nostalgia, go play them. Esp. since Nintendo is the only one who seems to be able to do the remake well.

I wouldn't mind seeing some older RPGs redone, like the original Fallout or Planescape: Torment or things like that. Don't touch the story or characters or gameplay or anything, just fix them up to run on newer systems at useful resolutions, modernize the interfaces so they're a bit less wonky, and clean up the graphics a bit (but they're fine as they are in 2D and everything, but some things could stand to have a bit more detail/color depth/etc. so they're easier to make out).

I'd also like an HD version of Legend of Mana with absolutely nothing changed other than high quality versions of the drawings and watercolors used for the backgrounds/characters. I like to imagine they still have the original artwork somewhere and could do that relatively easily, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't, which would mean it'll never happen.
Yes I want fallout 1&2 too. I bought them recently but they have bad problems on modern PCs and the graphics do not scale up to 22 inch monitors in a flattering way. I wonder how much it would cost to have them updated?

Shadow of Rome (fairly interesting plot, fun to play)
Dino Crisis 2 (nostalga closest a games actually got me to crying)
Star Wars bounty hunter (remade into what it shouldve been i.e a hitman esque game rather than a run and gun)

maybe in 5 years or so or whenever the next generation of consoles comes out, shadow of the colossus needs a remake.
