OP, your new here, so I'm just gonna let you know now that this thread idea is VERY common and another one is made every other day under a slightly altered name. I personally think it should be added to the "VS threads" on the list of thread types we just don't allow anymore, as there really is NO discussion value other than people getting pissy that others didn't like their favorite game.

Welcome to the Escapist! Here's your shotgun, plasma grenades and "peelz". Use wisely.

Metro 2033 needs waaaaay more attention...
I just finished it and found it to be a mixed bag.

The atmosphere and story were amazing, but the play mechanics were broken in so many areas... those goddamn exploding orbs near the end were a nightmare, as was trying to fend off packs of mutants with the shoddy aiming and inability to strafe fast enough to dodge thier attacks.
I didn't mind the gameplay mechanics... they were supposed to feel a bit shoddy and inaccurate as you were using guns that were fixed up quick in an amateur armoury.

Those orb things really annoyed me because I didn't realise you could destroy the spawners... still I loved the game and can't wait for metro 2034.

The thing that annoyed me about that part was how utterly stupid your team-mate was, walking straight into the explosions.

When will developers learn that gamers hate escort missions??

So, what games did you buy that you felt were seriously over-rated, and equally, what games did you enjoy that you felt deserved much more attention?
Good question.
I would have to agree with you on Dragon Age. It was quite a bit more dry than what I was expecting. I can appreciate the role play aspects of it but those conversations weren?t interesting enough to run as long as they did. When it comes to fantasy rpgs, I prefer a more open world Oblivion or Sacred2 that?s lighter on dialogue. However, if you knew what you were getting into, DAO was a very good value and worth the money. There are a few different playthroughs available and those playthroughs can last a while.

The first one that popped into my head would still have to be No More Heroes. It didn?t get much hype, but it did get some absurdly high ratings by the critics and it?s launch price was way more than what it was worth. I probably would?ve gotten a kick out of it if it was a budget title.

In general I?ve found that the most overhyped titles are usually ?exclusives.?
This is also the case with most dlc: most of it is way overpriced and overhyped.

I hit a double whammy. Right after I got my hands on my Xbox 360, 2 weeks after release, I bought Condemned and Perfect Dark in the same day. Nevertheless, I ended up trading both in 3 days later. Perfect Dark was an epileptic nightmare, and Condemned just didn't excite me at all.

Also, GTA IV didn't work for me either.

Saints Row 2. And by that I mean how it was brought up to be this more fun version of GTA IV. I just thought it was "meh".
