Lords of Magic - ok, does anyone remember this game ? Well, I spend almost years playing this TBS/RTS/RPG hybrid. (even with its triple AAA class bugs...)
I had Lords of Magic Special Edition (LoMSE) which fixed several of the bugs, and yes, it was awesome, trans-genre, and overall very fun.

Anyway, I'm gonna go ahead and say Mirror's Edge, even though it sorta got good reviews but is hated by players. Secondly, I actually liked Evolution 2: Far Off Promise, even though it actually WAS a mediocre game.

I liked UT3 even though everyone thought it was an embarrassment to the series (though I'd say Unreal Championship is more of one from what I've seen of it.)

But the worst is probably Zoids: Battle Legends or Hunter: The Reckoning. I enjoyed them both.

Lost Odyssey got mediocre reviews which were largely undeserved. A good game that unfortunately came along after JRPGs fell out of fashion. As I recall, even its graphics were criticized, despite being one of the best looking games on the 360.

GTA4 obviously received good reviews, but the forum backlash was uncalled for. For me, the was the first GTA game of the 3D area that properly used the game's engine during missions. San Andreas, by contrast, had a great engine, but wasted it on gimicky mini-game missions.

Mirror's Edge(fun and original), Shadowrun(very highly balanced and intuitive), Red Steel(fun controls and sword fights), and Tales of Vesperia(mediocre/average my ass). All I can remember from this generation.

Lost Odyssey's reviews ranged by good to mixed, it has gotten very few negative reviews.
Hmm, having checked Metacritic and seeing that LO average score was 78, I can see you're right. I think my memory is colored because the first review I saw was at gamespy, which panned it.

I loved the original Black & White, no matter what a lot of people say.
Did Black and White get bad reviews? I think both it and number two did rather well...
I enjoyed both of them, even if I can't get the bloody second one to install properly.
Much like Fable 2 I didn't think B&W2 was anywhere near as good as the origanal. Except Falbe 2 wasn't terrible and B&W2 was. My opinion.

Over G fighters got a bit of hate on release, but it kept me busy until AC6 came along.
Also, was I the only one that liked Turning Point: Fall of Liberty?

Flatout: Ultimate Carnage
Medal of Honour: Allied Assault
Freelancer
Psychonauts
Empire Earth
Homeworld 2
I'm sure there are more, but those are the only ones I can think of.

Also, in response to Mirror's Edge's story being complicated... WHAT?

Mirror's Edge. I don't care what anyone says.
I agree.

Also, Dark Sector. I thought it was pretty fun, especially once you learned how to really use the Glaive properly.
