Napoleon Total War

I love the other games in the series but Napolean, playing through the campaigns it felt like I was being told to play someone elses game, rather than having control over my own destiny and diplomacy. I can't play games with short time limits and it always felt like I was rushing for some arbitrary objective, not putting in the solid groundwork that was going to build an empire

Minecraft.

Heard all about it and decided I had to try. Exploration got old fast, I ended up just putting torches all over HUGE caves hoping they would finally end after the next corner, so I could call it a day.
Building was fun but after a few small projects i started wondering about the why of it all. Sure I can build nice stuff but it takes a lot of effort and once it's finished it'll just sit there. It doesn't really serve a purpose besides being looked at and that gets old long before it's even finished.
A lot of this is probably because I was really late to the party so I already knew all about creepers, the nether, dynamite,... There wasn't anything cool to discover myself.

The Witcher. It's supposed to be -the- game for people who like deep stories with choices, but... the gameplay was boring at best and frustrating at worst, the world and characters felt completely desaturated and lifeless, and the main character was utterly repelling as someone I'm supposed to be getting into the mind of. He was a mix of generic amnesiac blank slate and fully defined but unappealing sleazy old man, as if they couldn't decide which way to go and so just settled on a horrible muddy medium.

Also the Fallout series. I've got the same reasons to -like- it, but... Fallout 1&2 have just aged so badly gameplay-wise that I can't play it, and the third one was more like "Oblivion with guns and a story full of plot-holes". Also Oblivion - while I'm actually doing okay with Skyrim, I just got... bored of Oblivion. I spent a few hours wandering and managed to not actually find anything interesting. Most of the NPCs were obviously just flat quest-givers or information-brokers, it never really felt like a living world.

Bioshock. I just don't get why I don't love it. I mean, I love steampunk, and I love horror, but for some bizarre reason the game just bores me.

Saints Row: The Third.

It was meant to be THE superior game to Saint's Row 2 not a step backwards from Saint's Row 2.

the shield makes things too easy
You can't be serious? I am going to put all my money betting that you did not glaze through legendary and found it easy because you had shields. You would stand no chance whatsoever without shields.

Both of these games are huge sandboxes, full of opportunities, which is exactly the sort of thing I love. And yet...

Saints Row 2- Everyone goes on about it being fun and silly unlike the too-serious GTA IV. I'm the opposite. I loved the serious tone of GTA and really didn't like Saints Row 2. I also found the guns and driving to be unsatisfying.

Fallout New Vegas- My first Fallout game. Still can't put my finger on why I didn't like it...the magic wasn't there for some reason.
You know, alot of people feel that way about New Vegas. Maybe try Fallout 3? It has more personality, nothing feels like it's missing. Felt the need to reply due to the amount of hours I spent in it.

Fallout New Vegas. I played the shit out of Fallout 3, I saw this on sale and said hey, this was supposed to be an improved Fallout 3.

I played it for maybe an hour. I never even left Good Springs.

Skyrim - well, not exactly. It's a great game, but, honestly? I almost prefer Oblivion. The combat received a much needed update, true, but the cities are all so small, the guild questlines are short, and nothing really excites me about the world. Instead of being cool and unique, fights with dragons are stale and repetitive, while I'm inundated with boring, in interesting side quests. Despite its blandness, Oblivion had a kind of appeal to it, while Skyrim, for all its culture, is just kind of monotonous. I have no real desire to explore the world, and now, after a single play through - which was, admittedly over seventy hour long - I can't bring myself to pick it up again. Maybe the DLC will alleviate that, but for the moment, I'm bored of the game, something that never happened to me in its predecessors - which is a pity, because it has so much going for it.

TL;DR: Bored of an Elder Scrolls game. It's unnatural.

Borderlands- quiky world, ability to play as a female, cool artstyle...but hwy did you have to make it so annoyingly boring to play on my own?
this, i would have been happy with that though if online had good connections and paired my with people roughly my level and cooperation was needed, still looking forward to number 2 though

Minecraft- i love creating my own stuff but this was soooooooo boring, first of all there are is nothing to tell you how to build (until you go and print off stuff from the internet) and when you do build something, theres no use for it at all. great i can build helms deep but so what? does it have any practicle use? no it doesnt!

Thank you Sir. I assumed both New Vegas and Fallout 3 would be very similar, and that if I didn't enjoy one I wouldn't like the other. Maybe I will give it a go after all.

1. SWTOR: I should love this game. As a Bioware/Star Wars fan(boy-maybe) I should be all over this like white on rice... but I'm not into it. I think since I already play WoW, and have KotOR I just don't feel excited by the game. Thank god I didn't buy it.

2. MvC3: I wanted to love this game, because MvC2 was so awesome, but 3 did not deliver even nearly the same experience for me. No Gambit to match with my Ryu and Wolverine? WHAT?!?!? Besides that it just was... well... over the top for my tastes. Oh and the colors just made my stomach squirm.

3. Portal: I played through this game. I listened to GLaDOS "sing". I wasn't impressed. I really wasn't.

Starcraft 2 Multiplayer.

I love almost everything about Starcraft 2. Amazing campaign, and excellent multiplayer mechanics. But instead of playing the true multiplayer, I end up preferring to do Co-op vs. AI.

Which is odd, because I like multiplayer in other games with even worse mechanics then SC2. Maybe because losing has so much more of an impact in SC2.

Mercenaries 2... I love open world, I love explosions, and as I am in the Air Force, I flipping love air strikes, and air delivered effects... but I can't get into that game! I love the characters, I love the idea, the location is nice! Stealing helo's is epic, but I cant play it without forcing myself to!

On the other hand, I have never liked horror games... (Never liked the Resi games, silent hill or Bioshock) and I hate games where your weapon has a damage meter, but I really love the condemned series! I really do, and don't know why... I also really love Alan Wake...! (Hmmm... maybe I should give Resi another chance!?)

Skyrim. I am a huge Oblivion fan, and I just didn't like this one, the story isn't as good and for me it feels like Bethesda are just riding on the dragon gimmick.
