Konami needs to realize that one arcade classic that sat between the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Simpsons cabinets was one of my favorite games there was Sunset Riders, a Contra with Cowboys side-strolling shooter with three cowboys and one gaucho going out and shooting down every outlaw in the West and getting the bounty that came with the big gang leaders.

I can only imagine a crazy shoot-em up with situations like that seen in God Hand in which Steve, Billy, Bob and Cormano come out of retirement after almost 20 years for one last ride!

Personally I'd like to see a current gen re-make of FF8 & 9. Seems a bit fanboyish I know, but those were two game that I grew up with and loved, so a chance to play them again with better graphics would make my day
Oh god no. In my opinion Square Enix just needs the Final Fantasy franchise the hell alone before the screw it up even more. =[ Hasn't been a good FF game since X, and XIII is looking just as disappointing as X-2 and XII.

Anyway, Shadow of the Colossus. What I wouldn't give to play that game with improved graphics and slightly better controls. Not that the controls were bad but..damn it was hard aiming that bow at times.

Wait a minute did you just say FF8, what seriously... That game's garbage.
What? Garbage? FF8, along with FF6 is in my opinion one of the few FF's worth playing again and again.

Anyhoow, id kinda have to say.

Super Fantasy Zone!

Awesome!
As much as I loved FF8's story...the damned junctioning system just pissed me off. =[

And by update I assume you don't just mean new visuals Identical gameplay?
How about Conker's Bad Fur Day or Perfect Dark.
Rare already did Cokner, censored from its original version though it was. And yes, an update to a game usually means bringing the graphics up to speed with current technology.

Personally I'd like to see a current gen re-make of FF8 & 9. Seems a bit fanboyish I know, but those were two game that I grew up with and loved, so a chance to play them again with better graphics would make my day
I'd settle for just FF8!
Wait a minute did you just say FF8, what seriously... That game's garbage.

Also I don't think that any game should be remade. The developers could instead do something useful, like make a fun and original title.
Justify your statement of FF8... I'm sincerely curious. And yeah, I'm biased as hell, that was my first PS game (I bought my PS REALLY late, so yeah). Absolutely love the game, and the junction thing was awesome and it provided a deeper mechanic than just leveling like crazy. In fact, if you go to gamefaqs.com you can see people used the junction system to get through the entire game as lvl 1's.

MMO's would so kill those games. (btw, how does one even start to consider a Adventure MMO o_O)
I think his comment will be my new signature. I mean, how do you even wanna try to go with Chrono Trigger MMO, ok, best rpg of its time because of it's awesome characters and great storytelling, and your gonna go the mmo way, therefore sacrificing both linear (kinda linear? but GREAT) story, and the charm of its characters (everybody being a player) :S
Can't even believe someone who has actually played x-com, chrono trigger and the monkey island series can be so in love with MMOs, which in my opinion are overrated chatrooms.

Btw, for all those people asking for an improved shadow of the colossus, seriously, that game still looks pretty damn good. Go play it if you haven't. Great game, great graphics, I see absolutely no problems in it as is. Just me though.

The junctioning is in my opinion one of the biggest flaws in the game. They made it overly complicated. Drawing was also a terrible thing.

The game itself wasn't written very well too. Some characters (Ciefer for example) really needed better dialogue.

But it's probably better if you watch these videos [http://www.spoonyexperiment.com/category/final-fantasy-viii/page/2/].

Sorry, don't really feel like watching those videos, I'm really not a fan of that guy.
But, seriously? Overly complicated? Draw powerful spells, Feeling lazy? select auto-junction, select either attack, defense or magic. Feeling like a good RPG player, experiment some try what you like best. Drawing was in my opinion cool as hell, drawing magic from your opponents and using it on them, not only does it go with the whole theme of the game, but its a cool mechanic.

The game not being written well? I believe FFs and RPGs in general are the best games at telling stories, specially JRPGs and the story was interesting and awesome.

You mean Seifer? He's a crappy crappy antagonist to have, I'll give you that (don't remember him having any memorable lines). But still, the character looked cool and the path he followed was brilliant to keep him as an antagonist all through the story.

If it is really that simple then why did we need two (as far as I remember) tutorials for that?

I don't understand why you like drawing but I get along with it.

JRPG's (especially FF) should be written well and have great stories but FF VIII apparently was an exception.

Just because two games in the FF series were written well or had a good story (IV and VI. The story in VII wasn't really that good) doesn't mean that every game automatically is written well or has a good story (FF XII was maybe well written for example).

And I always thought that the FF games are really bad at telling a story.

Yeah sorry Seifer. I can't remember his name.

Just because he looked cool he is acceptable?

His path was kinda good but how he got there was just embarassing.

GENERAL CHAOS
originally on the Sega Genesis

Please tell me someone played/loved this game as much as i did.
The single player was complete shite (it had rts-style troop commands for a squad of 5 cartoony-characters that died in hilarious ways), mostly because the d-pad didn't work well for moving the cursor around, but the coop was awesome. Each player controlled 2 guys (you only issued commands such as wait, follow, fire, and switch character) and you tried to take down the AI opponent which got progressively difficult with each map.

This would be awesome on Live with online-play, maybe an updated overworld where each territory capture gave you a bonus. Noone who has every played this game with a buddy didn't love it. I declare this to be fact.
I concur wholeheartedly with your point. I loved that game and it had completely escaped my mind until your post. It would be an amazing game to play online!

I will say what i aslways say when people talk about updates/remakes and that is Snatcher. Mr.Kojima needs to get off his bottom and start making this again! I would kill my mother to see further adventures of the legend that is Gillian Seed. Not that i don't love my mum but Snatcher was amazing and i am sure she would understand!

I'd have to go for planescape torment. One of the best gaming stories ever but the graphics are very dated.

I can agree with that to some point, and it was REALLY hard getting into the system, but it could give you a nice advantage if you learned how to use it, just not enough of an advantage to really bother =/ I liked that the whole thing was much more of a love story than before.
Yay for variation.

System Shock, System Shock 2... Possibly Deus Ex. i'm asking for purely graphical updates here.

EDIT: Almost forgot, Fallout and Fallout 2. Possibly make them 3rd person and 3D, but keep the old combat... maybe add a co-op mode? Mainly just make them pretty, change NOTHING ELSE!

I'd like to see Max Payne get a graphical overhaul. I loved the storytelling but the gameplay was a bit clunky(especially the movement and jumping) and even back when it was released I thought it looked fugly.
Does Alan Wake count? Also, I disagree about the graphics, I thought they were really stylish, though technically inferior to other games of the time, their style means Max Payne's graphics ages much better.

Yes Oh God YES!!

Also aybe a 3-D remake of Tales of Phantasia with Vesperia or Abbyss' battle system.

Then again a Majora's Mask remake would be sweet and Legend of the Mystical Ninja
