Games that you would rather watch videos of than play yourself.

There's quite a few for me actually- I always preferred watching a friend play Red Alert rather than playing it, and part of the fun of playing Driver was making replay movies to watch. Since then Though I've always been on the lookout for 'watchable' games, and I've found a few goodies. I've found a way to turn Perfect Dark into a gladiator arena sport you can watch without moving (and renaming teams gives the bots a lot of familiarity). UT2004's bombing run plays like a well balanced televised sport, too. Sega Soccer Slam even allowed you to pick two teams and put yourself in the spectator slot, so you could watch the whole crazy game of socer play out from the sidelines while you had a sandwich or something.

Also, I don't have good enough ping to play on US servers of Mount and Blade Warband and Battlefield 1942, but spectation online matches can be endlessly entertaining... especially with the chat log...

Street Fighter 4 and Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for the high level play.

Other than that, I watch Phoenix Wright. I beat the first two, but I found that if I just watch walkthroughs I wouldn't be missing much in terms of gameplay.

I really like League of Legends, but those pro matches just blow me away. Watching a well executed team fight or strategic play is incredible.

Most of the Final Fantasy series is like this for me actually. I have no problems sitting there and watching someone play them on Youtube, because they edit out all of the stuff that no one wants to watch (or in my case play, unless I'm in a really particular mood) like the random battles (unless they have new enemies or are pertinent to something like Blue Magic or what have you) and just let you enjoy the story (goofy as it tends to be).

I reccomend the one of 50 Cent blood on the sand. Between mocking 50 all the way through, they poke fun at plot holes and wax philosophical on the problems inherent in segregated urban enviroments (no, really).

I was absolutly in love with minecraft for a short time but I found that watching what people had done and watching what people COULD do, I much prefer the Youtube videos myself.

Heavy Rain. Somebody funny playing it is awesome, but actually playing it is tedious at best. It takes the worst part about games, quicktime events, and makes them into an entire game. Great story, funny situations, but just not that fun to play.

I really want to like the games, and I usually love me a good puzzle, but it was just something that didn't interest me at all. I've watched about the entire story of Portal 2 on YouTube and thoroughly enjoyed that though.

Well, all the old NES games I couldn't beat to start.

Besides that, I really like pass the controller more than co-op as I became an adult. Partly because I might like sharing a bottle of booze with a friend while playing a game over the weekend but also because I get stressed out and sometimes (even if you're sober) you see things that the other player doesn't that might help the other player get through a section or you when it's your turn.

Pass the controller is so much better than throw the controller at the wall.

And I find it hilarious to watch people play really really fucking horribad games. So funny the ranting and screaming and controller-snapping.

I like watching the newer FF games. Watching, not playing. especially the cutscenes. As an artist, as well as someone interested in making textures for maps and such, I love seeing it as a way to learn, a way to grow.

As a story, sometimes they are lacking a bit for my tastes, but overall, very interesting stuff.

Not always as fun to play however. XD
