Oblivion without mods was extremely boring. With them its awesome and interesting with alternate stories, talking weapons etc. Hooray for user created content!
-- But seriously, the vanilla version is ok for some but it felt like it needed something else when I played it.

I found BFBC2 boring. I just couldn't get into it. I thoroughly enjoyed playing BFBC1 so I'm not sure why.
I thought the story was quite bland, It's been a long time since I played it so i can't say specifically why I found it bland, but I remember going back to it just for the achievements.
The multiplayer was good, not quite sure why I stopped playing the multiplayer.

Alien Vs Predator I enjoyed the first playthrough but it had no re-playability to it at all. I thought the multplayer was just awful as well.

Final fantasy 13 comes to mind. Seriously, 6 hours in and pretty much nothing had happened, so i gave up.
I know what you mean...I made it to Chapter 11 (I think...it's the one where everyone says the game gets better) and I saw no improvement. The worst thing about it is how even when you hit the level caps on those parts of the game where there is a limit to how strong you can be, you can still have your ass handed to you by random monsters AND the bosses who block the way through to the next part of the game.

Other than FFXIII...Quest 64 bored the pants off of me when I was a kid. If I can find it now though, in my advanced age of twenty-something I'll give it another chance.

Dragon Age 2, also. Bored me to tears. You can only be hit on by SO MANY guys for SO LONG before you just want to go off and do something else. Like go back to being a Dwarf and killing things.

the elder scrolls series. I've never been a fan of what one my my friends called "a huge wandering around steaming pile of shit" and what another friend called a "single player MMORPG"

Grand Theft Auto IV for PC.

...then I realized you could mod it, and the game changed for the better. So now I don't have a video game I found boring }:(

Evidently nobody here has ever played Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of the Flesh.

I have actually played and owned this game, you can always view it's boring glory on the Spoony Experiment!

Final Fantasy XII and Hyperdimension Neptunia.

I didn't stop playing FF13... but I really, really wanted to, but I wanted to see the end of that stupid ass story.

Kingdom Under Fire: Circles of Doom. About 10 minutes of playing that was the most unpleasant game-related experience I've ever had. And no, it doesn't get better, the whole game is just running across linear levels mashing A on swarms of enemies that will most likely kill you.

That's no. 1 on my list for boring games.

Borderlands, the Game of the Year edition is the copy I bought a month or so ago.

The only reason I bought it was because my three friends all picked it up recently around that time, and they were pushing for me to get it so that we could play in a group of four.

It was okay for the first 10 hours of play, but it just felt repetitious and boring after that. I soldiered through and beat the main game, but I'm having a hard time getting into it still to play the DLCs.

I mean, it's basically an MMO style game that isn't an MMO. For me it is a bare to play by myself. But it is also a bare to play with friends as well, because since they have already beaten everything in the game, when they play with me, I'm behind and they help me with the missions, but since they know what to do, they run ahead and do practically everything for me. And, they are such a high level that they kill enemies before I can shoot at them.

Portal. There I said it, we were all thinking it.
No we weren't, Portal was awesome fun. Besides, the game wasn't even long enough to get boring. I beat it in three hours.

You my good sir, are in a minority.

BORDERLANDS! I KNEW I was forgetting something. That game was SOOOO BORING, even the Cerebral Bore from Turok would go, "HOLY SHIT I'VE BEEN OUT DONE."

...oh, and for the record, I enjoyed Portal. Both the first and second time I finished it. Then the third time too, cause I wanted to beat some time trials. Haven't played it much since, but "Limited-to-No Re-playability" is not the same as "Boring".

So SammiYin! Change that "all thinking it" to "for those who were thinking it", because that fellow above me, Sonic Doctor or sommat, is right.

Stalker: CoP. It's nowhere near as interesting or as good as SoC.
Assassin's Creed 1. After having my weapons and abilities taken away, I just said 'fuck this' and quit.
Oblivion. I have not gotten far in that game, and I wanna get through most of the game without mods, but this game is so freaking boring.
Far Cry 2. Yeah, this game is downright boring on all fronts.
Just Cause 2. Despite the game world being bigger than Azeroth, it's certainly a lot emptier.

Prince of Persia 2008 - I finished it, but it lacked the same pathos of the Sands of Time.
Medal of Honor Frontline from back in the day
Splinter Cell: Double Agent - the concept and story did not do too much for me, hence boredom
L.A. Noire - good concept, just poorly executed.
F.E.A.R. - Once I was able to predict the horror elements it became boring, did not finish it
Resident Evil 5 - I actually tried to like the game, but it just fell flat for me. Did not finish it

Zelda the Phantom Hourglass:
I am a diehard Zelda fan and this was the first one I ever played that I couldn't finish, let alone stomach.
I like everything about that game, except having to go back to that main dungeon after ever other dungeon.

I would have beat the game if I hadn't had to deal with going back to that thing.

It was also the first time that a DS game pissed me off with a gimmick like use of the DS hardware.

Do you remember that time when you have to get some kind of map stamp off a wall map onto your map.

I spent a half hour trying everything I could think of, pressing all the buttons in different combinations, tapping my map on the bottom screen in different ways, and even yelling such things like "Copy Symbol!!" into the mic. Then I got mad and closed the DS and went to the bathroom, when I got back and opened the DS, it played the magical "You did it" music and I got the stamp on my map.

I never thought of closing my DS because every DS game I have pauses the game in some way when I close the DS. Yeah, the solution was rather clever, but it was also stupid.

Yeeaaah! I'm right! My day has been made! =P

I really think it comes down to whether a person likes puzzle games, can be imaginative with the portal gun, and actually has a sense of humor to find GLaDOS's banter funny.

And heck, Still Alive, was my favorite song for like a month or more.

Bad Company 2. I got about 3 hours in the campaign and just gave up on it. I don't give a shit about the story, the characters are uninteresting, the gameplay is linear and glorified whack-a-mole, fucking DUST, and so much fucking more. And the multiplayer? Why do I have to grind out all of the classes in order to be able to use the things that make them unique or fun?

It's just that I found absolutely nothing good to say about the game in any way, shape, or form. It's just bad.

CoD Blops, it's only like 4 hours long but I still got bored half way through. Also Borderlands. Never finished any of the F.E.A.R. games either (they should be called B.O.R.I.N.G. since there wasn't any fear but a shitload of boredom). Almost forgot Assassins Creed 1 - it was fun at first but got boring very quickly (the sequels were much better).
