I remember this game on PS1 where it was like 5 guys inside of a cube with time bombs strapped to them and the cube would flip if you hit switches. You had to run around and get checkpoints to add time to your bomb and you could beat the fuck out of the other players in order to beat them to the checkpoint. I can't remember the name but it was fun as hell.

Okay I'm going to appeal to the greater minds of the Escapist here with this one.

I remember playing this game 10 - 5 years ago, yeah my memory is that shot that its basically blurred into 5 years, anyway it was a computer game old style RPG. There were quite a few sequels and all I remember distinctly is a mini game in which you'd throw knives at a board and earn points (Yeah after playing the entire game all I remember is a tiny mini game that lasted 10 seconds). I remember more from a sequel though, it was located in a desert city, it had an underground part that you had to search through to find a type of magic shop. When you find it, its shown as a giant eye icon on your map.
There is also a mission where the city becomes deserted and four elemental spirits block certain parts of the city, and the only way to kill the wind spirit was to use a set of bellows you'd found early in the game.

Yeah not much but if I had more I'd just google it and probably find it. Actually I just remembered more from the first instalment... there was a thieves guild you could join and I'm pretty sure the entrance was underneath a trapdoor in the pub, when you joined there was also a fence you could sell stolen goods too. I think you could also join different types of guilds mage/fighter but I'm not 100% on that.
That's the Quest for Glory series.

It was a game for PS1, and you fought in arenas. One of the characters had buzz-saws for hands, and could set them up as traps around the map, they would pile in stacks of 3.

Anyone who can remember this, please give me the name of the game. I will love you forever.
The name of the game is The Unholy War. I remember it quite well, and rather fondly.

Search bar approved - found things similar about what you miss IN games, but not actual games.

Now I'm doing this because you're all the knowledgable sorts on games (I'd like to think so anyway), therefore it would make sense to come here.

Anyways, I remember playing this old, old JRPG/RPG where you ran round a city and into forests etc. The colours were seriously bright, like grass was acid green. Near the start, you'd pop out to the forest and fight worms mostly for the start of it. Seriously can't remember the name of it, any help would be appreciated on what game this is :)

If anyone else has this similar problem, post them in this thread - somebody in the community is bound to know what game you're talking about :)
I dunno if you got an answer for this but Guardians Crusade?

There was this 2d side scrolling game where you played as a spaceship and had to shoot enemies and such. But my most distinct memory of it was a boss fight with a giant ballerina...

This one has been bothering me for years. It's an old PC game from back in the DOS days. Pretty sure it was an EA release.

The game is set in feudal Japan. You play as some low level nobility and start of with a small piece of land. You have to manage the resources on it and build up an army to either conquer the neighboring lands or intimidate them into an alliance. If you're having some trouble with one area you can hire a ninja to kill their leader. You actually control the ninja in a sword fight. If you win then taking over that land is easier as the leadership has been weakend but if you loose there's a chance for an instant game over if it's found out you hired a ninja. Various other random stuff to assist in taking over and ultimate goal is to rule all of Japan. It was very simliar to a game called Centurian: Defender of Rome.
Pretty sure this is Nobunaga's Ambition.

Alright, 2 games for your reckoning...

First was a space civ sim. You had your race and there were other races you could diplomacise with. I remember one of the other races looked a bit like a sandwich... I remember you could build ships, and you first decided the size of the ship, and filled up the ships slots with engines and weapons and shiz, so you could fill it full of engines and have it mega fast or have no engines and all weapons for a really slow gun platform style thing. Also the only way to travel between systems was by wormhole, but you could set up wormhole blocks or something...
EDIT: And it was turn based! I think. Well it might have been. Probably?

The other game was a top down swords and sorcery type game. It worked over LAN on the PC, and the multiplayer was a bunch of large maps with nothing to do but kill and level up. Also it was colourful in that bright way that old games were, you know how I mean. I also remember that soon into the game's single player one level had a lot of giant turtles to kill. And the first level had your hero looking for a sword or something.

Gotta love pre-12 year old Me's memory. :p
I know its 5 months late but here goes...
Its possible the second game is Rage of Mages 1/2 .

It was on the N64, and you drive around cars and pretty much just have a big car deathmatch. You'd pick up loads of sweet guns and fire them around, and I think the music was really catchy too. There was a campaign, though I don't remember that too well. Just blow stuff up and try and collect tapes of briefcases or something?

I remember playing this game on the PC in either the late 90s or very early 2000s. I'm pretty sure it was a third person game where each level you progress through time. I think the first level was in a cave or something and it was supposed to be the prehistoric era. I also remember fighting samurai and there being a western level. The main character wore a blue skin tight outfit I think, I can't remember anything else. I have searched everywhere else but I can't seem to remember the game.
Sounds to me like Time Commando.

The only game that I can't really remember the name of was for the N64 and I believe it came with a green cartridge. It was about plastic soldiers and I remember the only reason I liked it is cause sometimes the soldiers would land on a grill or something and melt. Anybody remember it?
Pretty sure it Army Men.

I'm looking for an adventure type of game of moderate age (like 5-10 years) where you were some dude who got ported back into the middle ages and into ancient egypt. you had a glowing white sword and you could transform into a demon. also i think the guy was looking for his brother who disappeared. i would appreciate it if anyone told me the name of that game^^

I actually started a thread trying to find out what my game was, but nothing sounded right- in the end I came to the assumption that it was most likely a remake of something like Death Bringer.

I can't quite remember what the game's ultimate point was, but you had to get through a labyrinthine tower, unlocking doors and elevators with crystals and solving various puzzles and shit.
You had a set party of 4 people- a big green dude with horns and an axe, an old wizard dude, a blonde girly ranger with fire magic, and a hot Arabian-styled assassin. You levelled up seemingly randomly by sleeping in beds, and you'd get awesome fortune cookie-style cryptic messages about it.

I miss finding the little random shops tucked in broom cupboards, staffed by big surly ogre-types in aprons. You bought your food there- primarily eggs that looked like radioactive testicles.

I wonder why the need to feed your characters went out of fashion in RPGs? I know it could be annoying at times, but I always kind of found it added to the atmosphere.

I remember some game on a console, which involved you in a black jet fighter, and always you'd be up against 3 or 4 opponents, with no story whatsoever, and I think the music looped every 10 seconds or so. I think it was probably 3D in an aces of the pacific way. I think it also had a clock ticking down from 4 minutes, and if you hadn't won the dogfight by then you automatically lost. It might have been really sunny but I'm not sure.

Was a game a friend from Sweden sent me a link to. You play it online; you're a little gnome type thing who lives on a little asteroid (I think that's what it was) and your dog gets taken by aliens. So you go on this little adventure to get him back, all progression based on what things you click on the screen.

Very bad description, but the game looked realistic in the sense all the locations looked like someone had taken a picture of a mossy log or some other real life item and used that for the layout.

The name of the game was in a foreign language and I can't for the life of me remember what it was >_<

Yessir, that's it. I remember so many levels from that game now. Oh the nostalgia.
