This thread is about games that you found unbearably long, Not necessaraly long games, but games that your found to be unnecessarily long , or stretch out TOO long for its own good (preferably games you liked except for that one flaw) .

The game that made me think of this thread was L.A Noire, i liked the game , but it started dragging about mid-way, making the experience turn , slowly but surely, sour. I still like it and it will be among the memorable games i have played but i found it to be almost unbearable towards the end.

Other games that i liked but gave me this feeling was , Xenogears , Dragon age , batman arkym asylum, origins ,drakengard 2 , and Dragon quest 8 ( all games i like )

Your turn.

I haven't gotten that far to get that feeling yet, but I have a feeling that it's going to happen with Persona 3. Persona 4, too, probably.

Final Fantasy 13

The fact that it was long isn't a bad thing on it's own.

FF13 is just a terribly boring experience, with horribly contrived character development, uninvolving combat, linear gameplay (even for a JRPG) and a story that only makes sense if you read the codex entries.

I stopped playing it about 30 hours in, because absolutely fuck all interesting happens.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

As it is a part of the KH series its heavily based around the story and not perfected combat but the missions and the utterly boring combat made it almost unbareably long. Had almost given up on it but then found myself at the end of the game where it got good again.

Being unbearably long is part of the appeal of the Persona series, isn't it?

Black, the game doesn't save where I am during a level so if I want to come off and keep my progress I had to finish the level but they were so damn long and not nearly enough checkpoints in case I die.

Dragon age deffinitly. Also, Too Human, CoD in general, Bad Company 2, GTA IV completely gave up on that one, Red Faction: Guerrilla, Bioshock. So many.

Fallout 3 had this problem for me, I maxed out my level before I even got to the radio tower.
Okami would have but I was having too much fun to notice.
Persona 4... actually I REALLY liked it so I might just play again.

GTA 4 had far FAR too much story. I skipped a lot of the cutscenes and never finished the game even though I sort of liked the game.

I think the GTA series peaked with GTA 2.

Final Fantasy XIII

Final Fantasy VII. It's not that it's bad, but it takes you forever to get out of Midgar, and then you end up going to a bunch of superfluous areas whose reasons for existence are only validated by the fact that you have to go there. They could have cut some stuff out.

I had this problem with Red Dead Redemption, Assassins Creed, and Fallout New Vegas. Those are just the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

Well, I think first answer would be Red Dead Redemption which I actually stopped playing after Dutch met his demise (not even at my hands) and then, instead of getting a proper end sequence, the game wanted me to ride to the ranch of ole Bonnie MacFarlane, at which point I decided that the game is over, because the story (which in itself was more or less redundant, riddled with cliché and unloveable characters, esp. the main character which I'm somehow supposed to identify with) has already met its closure by killing the major bad guy. Or something like that anyway.

Another game that padded itself out was Mirror's Edge, in which I had the feeling that I simply played the same mission nine times in a row, with an increasingly higher death toll. But shortly before I'd have thrown my controller into the screen, it ended. Somehow, somewhere, don't really know, the story was crap.

GTA4. I borrowed it from a friend but after playing it for 15 hours the story still hadn't gone anywhere, so I said screw it and gave it back to him.
